Here’s an update regarding Project Yuri. We’ve added two new series to Re:Library!

First, we have Otome Game Heroine Support, a series translated by yours truly (Fire).

Synopsis:

Reincarnated into the world of an otome game—?
Nagase Matsuri found herself being reincarnated in the world from an otome game.
Her role in the game was to be a “Heroine Support”.
Waking up with her previous life’s memories, she does her utmost best to fully support the protagonist and heroine of this world, Ichinose Maki.
This should mean the heroine would have to constantly lead the love interests on, right? —Or so she thought.
For some reason, Maki shows no interest towards any of the love interests.
This is a love story between Nagase Matsuri, who wants the heroine to be happy with the love interests, and Ichinose Maki, who wants Matsuri to look her way instead.

Since Otome Game Heroine Support is translated by me (Fire), there’s no fixed schedule yet. This series is basically a side project of mine as an extra to the other novel. This will be my first public translations so do leave any thoughts or comments you may have!

Meanwhile, Pretty Face Classmate Pursues Me Relentlessly will have a fixed schedule of 1 chapter per week. This series is translated by Mui, who is part of our paid team, so you can expect consistent updates. If the series gains popularity and Patreon pledges increase, we may be able to raise the budget and commission Mui for more chapters each month. If you’re a Yuri fan, your support would be greatly appreciated!

You might also notice that some chapters of Pretty Face Classmate Pursues Me Relentlessly are currently locked. We’re testing a new early-access system for paid members using password-protected content.

Here’s how it will work:

  1. Subscribe to the Project Yuri Patreon page.
  2. Send a Direct Message to the page owner on Patreon, specifying which series you want to unlock.
  3. You’ll receive a Google Doc containing the password. (Make sure you’re using a Gmail account or have linked your email to Google to receive the invitation.)

A new novel is coming to Re:Library.

It’s a breath of fresh air! A new beginning! …Hm? What do you mean it’s not new or fresh? Stinks of a dead translation, you say? Well, it is because it’s a Revival! Project Necro’s first ever novel, re-translated by yours truly, is the elusive Der Werwolf by Hyougetsu and it’s coming right for you!

In case you didn’t know, Project Necro is our newest directive where we pick up long-abandoned series to give them a second chance. As of now, Werewolf Reincarnation is our only novel, and Mab (hey, that’s me!) is our only translator, but we are planning to expand our entries and recruit more talented translators. SO!! Have you got a beloved novel that’s been long dead? Frustrated and wish you could just translate it yourself? Or maybe you just want a place to pour your translation-juice into? Poll Ended: Choose Your Favorite Character for Upcoming Fan Art

Two weeks ago, we ran a poll on the General Purpose Patreon: Fan Art vs Emotes.

At first, emotes were winning by a landslide, but in a surprising turn of events, fan art made a last-minute comeback and snatched the lead. (I hadn’t checked the poll for a week, so imagine my surprise when I came back and saw the results flipped.)

So here we are!

I’ve now finished migrating all the fan art from Project GB to the General Purpose Patreon. The goal is to consolidate all art-related perks in one place and give this page a stronger identity. This move also allows me to better focus on offering art-based incentives, whether it’s fan arts, emotes, or NSFW content, so that those who are primarily here for the illustrations can support the General Purpose Patreon instead.

To celebrate, we’re kicking things off with our first public vote: help us choose which character will be featured in the next commissioned fan art!

We’ll be doing this in two rounds:

  • Round 1 is an elimination match featuring up to 10 series, running for 1 day.
  • Round 2 will feature the top 5 finalists, where you’ll vote for the ultimate winner.

Introducing Project Necro

I’ve been floating the idea of launching a new group focused on reviving long-abandoned series, dubbed Project Necro, in our insider patron channel. Thanks to the strong support from many of you, I’ve decided to move forward with it.

Leading the charge is none other than Mab, our resident gremlin translator, who’s always whining about being bored and needing more work. I figured this would be the perfect outlet for him. It should keep him busy and, more importantly, productive.

To help him get started, I’ve repurposed one of our older Patreon pages and handed it over to Mab, so he won’t be starting from zero. This shift also made me reflect on Re:Library’s outdated fixed-pay-per-chapter model. Limited funding means limited releases, which has led to frequent complaints about slow updates and is one of the reasons Re:Library has slipped into obscurity.

In contrast, Project Necro will operate on a performance-based system. Instead of being limited by a fixed budget, translators will earn based on how well their series performs. This should help maintain motivation, encourage consistent updates, and eliminate the funding bottleneck.

We haven’t locked in any series yet, so if there’s a novel you’d like to see picked up or re-translated, drop your suggestions in the comments below!

A few rules to keep in mind when making suggestions:

  1. The novel must be Japanese (as we currently only have one Japanese translator on the team).
  2. It must be publicly available. We will not consider light novels due to the higher risk of DMCA takedowns.
  3. The series must have been inactive or untranslated for at least 3 months.

A new teaser is now available on Re:Library!

We fully intend to pick up this series once Vampire Princess’ Rose-Colored Dream concludes. As many of you know, sniping is a common occurrence in the web novel translation community, and to avoid being preempted, we’re releasing this teaser as a way to stake our claim on the project.

While we haven’t set a firm launch date yet, we’re currently aiming to begin regular releases in August.

Re:Library Visual Update!

Breaking News

We all have big dreams, and here at Re:Library, we dream of the day when our site grows large and successful enough to afford a full-scale upgrade. Unfortunately, with visitor numbers steadily declining and Patreon growth slowing, that dream seems far off. However, that doesn’t mean we should stop striving to improve Re:Library with the resources we have at hand.

Over the past few days, I’ve been working with a specialist (sort of) to make some visual enhancements to Re:Library’s front page. I realized that plain text listings with just novel names and chapter numbers look rather dull and don’t help visitors—especially new ones—easily identify the novels they’re interested in.

To address this, I took inspiration from popular novel and manga sites and added background images to posts, along with short summaries for each novel. This should help both new and returning visitors quickly recognize the series they’re looking for at a glance.

The next improvement we worked on is the custom cursor. Now, when you hover over links or interactive elements on the website, your mouse cursor transforms into our tiny, adorable pink fairy mascot! If you ever feel lost in the darkness of the site, she’ll be your guiding light, pointing you toward clickable links and helping you navigate with ease.

Finally, we’ve upgraded our “Back to Top” button. The first version we had stopped receiving updates, developed security vulnerabilities, and was flagged by our system. The alternative we tried was too heavy on the site’s resources and took ages to load. Now, we’ve developed a lightweight custom button that’s easy on the server and loads almost instantly.

With these improvements, we hope to make browsing Re:Library a more enjoyable experience for everyone. We may not be able to overhaul the entire site just yet, but small changes like these can still make a difference! As always, thank you for your support, and we hope you enjoy the new updates!

[New Series] From a Stand-In Wife, I Seemingly Became a Real Wife

New Chapter!

Hello again! With Extrovert Lovers having reached its conclusion on Patreon, there will be a new series that we’ll be translating. After browsing through the library of Japanese web novels, we had a list of novels that we narrowed down to three, through polls on Patreon and Discord. The novel we ended up on is: From a Stand-In Wife, I Seemingly Became a Real Wife (shortened to Stand-In Wife)!

This will be the second novel primarily focusing on Yuri (not Gender Bender). To start, we’ll release two chapters, though seven chapters are already up on the Patreon if you’re interested. In the future, depending on if circumstances allow us, we might branch out to Chinese and Korean novels (I hope). This is all in regards to “Project Yuri” btw, not the same as the site’s primary focus, “Project GB” or Gender Bender. As for the other two Japanese novels that could’ve been picked, we’ll see! Maybe it’ll show up randomly as well. Anyways, that’s all from me, do check out the novel if you’re interested!

Today, I’m happy to announce that a new series will be joining the Re:Library shelves. With both Commoner Villainess and Automata Maid approaching their conclusions, we’re introducing Online Game: Twin Souls!

This will mark the fourth Chinese web novel in our Project Gender Bender lineup. Like most Chinese web novels, it’s quite lengthy and may continue for years or even decades. Under normal circumstances, we rarely pick up new Chinese titles unless the currently translated ones have finished. However, with the subscriber base shrinking and Patreon earnings steadily declining—and considering that the translators of Automata Maid and Commoner Villainess are already at capacity—I’ve decided to step in and handle this new series myself. By translating it personally, I won’t need to worry about expenses for additional translators, and if the response is strong enough, we might eventually secure more funds for future projects.

After reviewing our data, it’s clear that Reborn as a Transcendent and Destiny Unchain Online remain among our most popular titles, both in site views and Patreon subscriber counts. This indicates a strong interest in video game-themed novels, making Online Game: Twin Souls a promising addition.

[Announcement] Introduction of Project Yuri

Hello, hello! As you may know, Re:Library’s niche is in the Gender Bender or “Project Gender Bender”. From the start of it until now, it has worked well enough as the popularity of gender bender has slowly risen. As such, we figured that it would be best if we only focused on that. However, there are a few flaws with this:
1. Despite the increasing popularity, Gender Bender is still quite niche, and the visitors to our site and Patreon hasn’t seen growth that is sustainable.
2. It limits the selection of novels that we can translate.

As such, to ensure the future of Re:Library, we decided to launch this experimental project, Project Yuri. Project Yuri is basically us expanding to other genres, such as yuri. Project Yuri will be managed and handled separately than Project GB. The funding of the project will also be on its own standing and not shared with Project GB. From that, we request for everyone’s understanding and support for this experimental project.

Depending on the success of the project, we will further consider expanding to more genres. Who knows, right?

Anyways, that’s enough of the background of this project. Here’s the yuri novel we will be translating as a start:

It’s by the same author as “A Story About Losing All My First Experiences After Suffering Defeat at the Hands of My Twisted Genius of a Childhood Friend“. For the full synopsis, be sure to go to the novel page but the story follows the interactions between two girls, a runaway and one that took her in. The one that took the runaway in claims that they were lovers previously and decides to relive what they did in the “previous timeline”.
The schedule will be 4 chapters a month every Friday. In the future, we can consider increasing it.
