It’s Mother’s Day today here in the UK.
I had to get reminded by my stepdad at the start of the week to realise it was coming.
I’m glad to know that they are starting to remember that I don’t remember dates and need reminding like this.

Thankfully due to the power of the internet I was able to order everything I needed with next day delivery.
Glad to see that modern convenience trumps all.

I scheduled this chapter while listen to Ibasho by Mori Calliope or Calliope Mori depending on which half of the compass you’re from.
That’s the mini song she released as part of the Hololive EN x Princess Connect Global launch collab.
It’s not a bad song, she sings pretty well.

But I’ve noticed recently that bilinguals have more jarring transitions between English and Japanese in songs.
I think it’s because they adjust their accent and pronunciation for the language, rather than carrying over their natives intonations?
Not sure how to explain it…there’s probably someone more musically and linguistically knowledgeable than me who knows the right words.

I’ve come across a new quote recently that I’ve fallen in love with.
That’s:
“Any sufficiently analyzed magic is indistinguishable from science!”

I really like this because when I write my fantasy fiction I always approach magic as unmethodised science.
I make sure it’s rooted in a sense of scientific application but that the wielders are unaware of that.
I think that GATE does this pretty well, Magi’s Grandson also and of course in novel-space you have Otherworld Magic Is Too Far Behind.

My brother has been playing this vehicular construction game called Trailmakers or something.
It’s like lego but you build vehicles.
I’ve been helping him with this sort of challenge mode where you have to build vehicles to recover vehicle parts to build vehicles.

I have created three masterpieces!
The first is a dolphin submarine. (Later modified so it could also fly)
The second is a crane.
The last is a flying drone!

Apparently my creations assisted partially in his completion but his own built submersible car did the heavy lifting usually.

The Princess Connect event is really simple and it’s left me so confused!
I think I’ve been traumatised by FGO events so I was expecting the worst when it came to this game too but…
It’s just so casual and chill.

Are all the events going to be like this?
If so I have no idea why I was panicking so hard and working myself to the bone to grind so that I’d be strong enough to complete it.
I mean sure I’m not the pinnacle of optimisation but I’m still doing fast enough that I will definitely get everything I want before the start of next week!

As you guys know, we are getting close to catching up with the author on this novel.
When we do catch up the translator is most likely going to take a break.
They have been doing this project for months without break to pump out the chapters every week.
I think splitting the long chapters has been the only thing preserving their SAN points.

I was originally considering proposing to Silva about reducing the number of chapters a week, both to extend the longevity and to reduce the strain but I feel this close to the end it might have the opposite effect now.
Also I’d get less ad revenue…
Decisions.

Maybe I should ask for all your opinions?

The Invaders of the Rokujouma boxset is entering the final phase of production now.
I should receive my stuff around my birthday in May coincidentally.
I’ve honestly forgotten about when it was that I first backed it now…

I was really excited and counting down the days to launch. I even splurged and upgraded my pledge to get a custom story.
I’m still very curious as to how that turned out.
The translators and editors have obviously gone through it so I’m shivering slightly hoping my request didn’t seem weird!

They’re going to reveal the boxset art soon because there was a bit of fanbase divide over which art would be chosen in the end.

However as a result I realised I didn’t have anything else in mind to write about so now I am writing about how I was going to write something but didn’t.

I mean how could I possibly resist a series about a reincarnator trying to modernise a fantasy world with lost technology?
Really excited to read them!

I actually had it on my wishlist since it was first announced but never got round to it because my backlog is huge and every growing.
I just can’t read at the same rate all my series are released!
Well I guess that’s a good thing in some ways…

Altina, Der Werwolf, Genius Prince’s Guide, Hidden Dungeon, Kokoroco, Last Round Arthurs, Redefining the META, Last Dungeon and Strongest Rearguard.

At the moment I’m reading Last Dungeon because the anime. But I don’t know what I’ll go on to read next.
Hidden Dungeon might be a good one too because I finished the first volume and the anime is going also.
That said, my mood might change.

Princess Connect is pretty fun.
The girls are mostly cute.
Weirdly though, none of them stand out.
I don’t have an obvious favourite or some clear character that I want or anything like that.

If anything maybe this will be a gacha game that I can play to a healthy degree since nothing stands out.
I won’t be inclined to spend.

The only character I particularly want is one that shouldn’t be too hard to get…probably.
