So in Final Fantasy news I reached Level 50 on Alchemist today.
That means the only crafting class I have yet to get to 50 is Leatherworker which I shall start on tomorrow (well today after I’ve slept).
50 is major milestone that I’ve been aiming for with all of them because I actually have some decent gear for that level.
Meaning they will be able to move away from using hand-me-down type equipment that barely gets the job done.
From there I should be able to put in some extra effort to get them to 60. However that’s where the trouble will start.
Getting proper equipment for 60 is either gonna be a chore, or expensive. Let alone 70 or 80 later on.
I almost lost this chapter! I had put it in the wrong place.
I was about to schedule the next Chapter without uploading this part!
What a disaster that would have been!
I was really confused when I started scheduling because I couldn’t remember the numbers adding up.
This is why I shouldn’t wait till 5am to do things.
Amazon finally shipped my Arpeggio of Blue Steel manga preorder.
I made that order last year.
The volume was released months ago.
For whatever reason they just…never sent it to me for ages.
I actually made the order so long ago it was on my previous card, so I had to update my card tonight just to get the thing I had bought ages ago.
That’s how long a timescale we’re talking.
Strange times we live in.
Listen, I don’t have time to write anything fancy today.
Like five new web novel got chapters uploaded that I need to read, ReZero getting two on its own!
And then J-Novel have uploaded a bunch new chapters for their light novel releases.
That’s not even mentioning the novels and anime I’m still behind on.
Basically I’m in the middle of binge reading so don’t bother me.
How Not To Summon A Demon Lord, Final Fantasy, Trapped in a Dating Sim and Isekai Starship have all reminded me lately of just how cool highspec robotic combat maids are.
Like seriously.
I want one.
I would bother to come up with a story involving one, similar to the other highspec combat robot stories I’ve already noted, but I’ll never actually write one.
Plus it’s more fun to imagine them as a belonging or part of your own harem than creating a story for one with someone else.
Sigh.
The Hololive English girls should finish revealing their new outfits sometime around when this goes live I think.
Have any of you liked the ones they’ve seen?
Honestly I’ve found them super underwhelming.
Then again I have found very few of the Japanese ones to be that good too.
I guess I just have a thing for the iconic original outfits?
I’m like that about anime figures too. I only ever buy the canon or default outfits unless it’s really iconic or special.
Like movie ones or temporary transformations. I can enjoy those.
But unique casual ones or swimwear for the sake of swimwear, not really a fan.
My friends turned our Final Fantasy Free Company into some kind of suicide cult.
They found the highest point in the world you can jump from and kept jumping off to see if they could rez the previous person to jump off before they hit the floor and also died.
Fun Fact, Red Mages are clearly the superior Serial Resurrectors.
The end result was several of us dead at the bottom of a cliff laughing at each other.
We tried calling for a Rez but nobody had the humour to come view our pile of corpses.
I was even getting wet in a small stream…

I do wonder what will happen to my readership numbers once this comes to and end though.
It’s gonna be a huge spike for this month…but I don’t know what proportion of people read my posts from this novel alone compared to the others I ramble on.
At the very least I doubt that Blue Sky gets anywhere near as many.
I did vaguely warn you on the last post for this novel but the translator was AWOL for a period.

The translator has run into a few delays with the final batch for this novel.
Yes that’s right, soon we’ll be reaching the latest chapters of the web novels raws. Then it’s up to the whims of the author when they’ll release new chapters.
If and when those chapters will get done will then be left up to the whims of whoever is involved on this side of things.
As you can expect, most people move on when a project becomes erratic in such a manner.
Since this will be the only post for the day I’ve decided to move forward Blue Sky’s release an hour too to fill in the slot.
We’re almost nearing the end of our journey together.

I can’t remember exact numbers. But it’s a small number.
I don’t know what I’m going to do after this.
This novel made me so much money. And it’s all going to evaporate.
Someone quickly find some other novel! Pronto! Also someone to translate it. So I can leech off them.
Seven Seas is doing a complete overhaul of Jobless Reincarnations novel translations it seems.
I hope they start to learn from this.
The light novel translation industry is a bit out of touch with its consumer base for various reasons, mostly because of the outdated generalist tradition they use to translate. When you’re dealing with subculture material I think it’s much more appropriate to make sure that you’re resonating with your target audience.
But the publishing industry, especially in America, has always been a mess.
Conclusion, all light novel translations should move their HQ’s to Britain, the world capital of literature, and use the J-Novel Club business model.
I’ve started obsessively playing Stellaris again lately.
I always have phases like this.
I’m rather bad at the game so I tend to cheat a lot and just roleplay it out.
But after a few sessions of using cheats to roleplay instead of play the games get stale because you can always recover losses.
I also tend to play the games a specific way, especially with my custom empire.
I think what I need to do is play the role of an empire that antagonises my favourite custom empire and roleplay that instead.
Actually that might work! I can use the console commands to give me custom empire a bunch of early game advantages so they can steamroll ahead and see how things turn out.
While I was scheduling this I think the site may have died.
Or my internet.

I was once again drawn into reading ReZero.
The new arc had finally gotten started a bit so I thought I’d dive in to get to know what’s going on.
Honestly didn’t expect this turn of events.
All the previous arcs have been pretty clear cut between their start and their finish with a bit of downtime between (even if it’s only a matter of perspective and they are actually back to back) but this new arc felt like a direct continuation of the previous one. As a result I feel like it was a bit anticlimactic but maybe that’s just me?
The cathartic payoff didn’t seem to happen in my opinion.
