[Fan Art] Dragon Princess Lilith

Happy New Year, everyone! Last December, we conducted a Patreon poll to decide the next fan art subject from among “Two as One Princesses,” “Dragon Princess,” “Pupil of the Wiseman,” and “Villainess Becomes Commoner.” With 35 patrons participating, the results were quite close: “Dragon Princess” led with 31%, followed by “Pupil of the Wiseman” at 26%, “Two as One Princesses” at 23%, and “Villainess Becomes Commoner” at 20%.

With “Dragon Princess” narrowly winning the poll by a 5% margin, we’re excited to reveal the commissioned artwork of Lilith, marking her first ever true depiction, as there has been no official cover picture of her yet.

In this stunning piece, Lilith is portrayed sitting atop an immense pile of her boundless wealth, her posture exuding unapologetic pompousness. A slight, sardonic smile on her lips suggests her full awareness of the power and status her riches confer upon her.

We’ve shared the step-by-step progress of this artwork with our insiders and patrons on our Discord server, where their invaluable input played a crucial role in shaping the final outcome. Throughout the creation process, patrons and insiders had the opportunity to offer their suggestions and opinions on various aspects of the artwork, including the initial sketches, color schemes, and overall design elements.

This collaborative effort ensured that the artwork truly resonated with our community, as each stage of development was influenced by their feedback. The result is a piece that not only captures the essence of Lilith but also reflects the collective vision of our dedicated supporters.

If you’re keen on participating in such collaborative projects and accessing insider news, please consider subscribing to our Patreon: Project Gender Bender. It’s a great way to engage directly with the creative process and help shape the content you love.

Additionally, we’re thrilled to announce that this artwork comes with commercial use rights. If you’re interested in acquiring merchandise featuring this stunning depiction of Lilith, please visit our shop on RedBubble.

We’ve partnered with RedBubble to leverage their print-on-demand services. By uploading our original designs on RedBubble, they handle the printing and subsequent shipping of products to your intended destination. In return, we earn 20% commission from each purchase.

At present, we are showcasing nine unique designs, and our plan is to continuously expand our selection. The journey to launch this shop was quite an adventure. We collaborated with talented artists to craft these designs, invested time in product testing, and even shipped items to various locations to ensure they met our quality standards.

Take a moment to explore our customer reviews:

Silva’s Review:

For the Pillow:

Initial Impressions:
Upon first inspection, the pillow appeared surprisingly flat, prompting initial disappointment. However, it quickly regained its intended size upon removal from the vacuum-sealed packaging. This unexpected expansion was a welcome surprise.
Print Quality:
The print quality, which had been a point of concern, exceeded expectations. Contrary to my initial assumption of standard screen printing, the design was achieved through direct-to-garment printing, allowing it to permeate the fabric for a longer-lasting finish. This deviation from conventional methods was a positive aspect of the product.
Zipper Configuration:
The arrangement of the zipper proved to be somewhat inconvenient as it did not span the entire length. This made the task of fitting the slightly larger pillow into the cover more challenging. It felt like trying to place a sizable object into a constrained space.
Fabric Thickness:
Another observation pertained to the fabric thickness of the cover, which was thinner than anticipated. After placing the pillow into the cover, the tags became visible through the fabric. Consequently, I had to remove the pillow and trim the tags before reinserting it. While these minor issues emerged, they did not significantly detract from my overall satisfaction with the product.
Shipping and Delivery:
On a different note, it’s important to address Redbubble’s shipping practices, which may not be directly related to product quality but are relevant to the overall experience. Each item is shipped separately, likely due to the involvement of multiple companies in the printing process. This segmentation can result in accumulative shipping fees, particularly for international orders.
Consideration of Local Postal Services:
For international buyers, the efficiency of local postal services plays a crucial role in the delivery process. In my situation, residing in a less developed country, I faced considerable delays and unfortunate incidents of lost packages. To exemplify, despite making four orders in April, I had only received a single item by July from the second delivery. This situation arose after the first delivery was marked as lost in transit, leading to a replacement dispatched in May. It wasn’t until September that I finally received one item from the initial delivery. In summary, I eventually acquired 2 pillows, but the other 6 items (duplicated due to two separate orders) remain unaccounted for.
Customer Service and Resolution:
Due to these shipping issues, I reached out to Redbubble to inquire about the status of my orders. Since the replacement orders also failed to reach me within the estimated time, a third replacement was deemed unlikely to yield different results. Consequently, Redbubble promptly provided a full refund, with the understanding that any future deliveries of the original or spare packages would not require return.

In conclusion, I effectively obtained two pillows at no cost. While I maintain some hope that the remaining orders will eventually arrive, my expectations are tempered by the previous experiences. For individuals residing in the United States or countries with efficient postal services, concerns related to lost or delayed shipments may be less pronounced, and shipping costs may remain more manageable. However, those situated on the far side of the globe, like myself, may face more substantial shipping expenses and logistical challenges.

Fana’s Review:
For the Pillow:
I really liked the tough and textured fabric of the pillow cover – it feels just right on a couch! From afar, the print looks pretty good, but when you get closer, you start to notice some resolution issues. This is the same problem I found with the shirt as well. But on the bright side, the color choices, both for the text and the pillow itself, work really well together! It might help to make the font bolder, but even as it is, it looks quite nice. I was also happy to see that the pillow is of great quality and super sturdy, plus it comes vacuum-sealed for convenience.
For the Shirt:
The shirt feels nice to touch but is a bit on the thinner side – my mom noticed it too. It might be cool for the summer though! The main thing is the print quality, which is super crucial for merch like this. I’ve seen a lot of companies mess this up, like when I was in Japan, a bunch of shirts and posters just didn’t have crisp prints. But in contrast, at a Dutch anime convention, the merch was flawless with super sharp details. It’s a bit of a mystery why there’s such a difference. Even Redbubble, a big name in fan merch, sometimes has varied print qualities. For instance, my dad has Redbubble shirts that are text-only, and they seem fine in terms of resolution.
Fire’s Review:
For the Poster:
I recently received my order, and I must say that the delivery was impressively swift. The package arrived ahead of the anticipated delivery date, arriving a remarkable ten days early. This efficiency in delivery could be attributed to either the local postal service or EMS, but regardless of the source, it’s undeniably commendable.

Now, let’s delve into the product itself. The poster arrived securely packaged, ensuring its pristine condition upon arrival. The poster’s measurements was particularly accurate. It boasts a pleasing sheen and an overall appealing appearance. The choice of paper for the poster is commendable, offering a quality feel.

When it comes to assessing the print quality, I found no significant issues to report. The print appears to be of high caliber, with no noticeable flaws or imperfections. Overall, it’s safe to say that I’m quite satisfied with this poster purchase.

Re:Library’s Financial Update and Strategic Plans

Hello,

We’re reaching out to provide an important update on Re:Library’s current situation and our proactive strategies moving forward. We’re facing some financial challenges, and we believe it’s important to be open with our dedicated readers like you.

Let’s talk numbers for a moment. Our average annual views have been on a downward slide since 2021. Back then, we were proudly hitting around 1.2 million monthly views. Fast forward to 2022, and that number dropped to 850,000. Now, in 2023, we’re looking at an even lower average of 700,000.

If this trend keeps up, we’re looking at potentially hitting just 500,000 monthly views by 2024. And the grim reality is that if things don’t turn around, Re:Library might have to close its doors by 2026.

So, what’s causing this dip? Here are some possible reasons for this decline:

Rise of Machine Translations: The allure of machine-translated content is growing as the tech gets better. Some of our readers who are hungry for new chapters are turning to these translations while waiting for our releases, which is impacting our readership.

Aggregators in the Mix: Aggregator sites are a double-edged sword. Some readers, unknowingly, are sharing links to these sites. These sites copy content from original sources without permission, and readers are drawn to them for their convenience. Unfortunately, this is hurting our earnings, and it’s a battle we can’t easily win.

Niche Genre Constraints: Our specialty in Gender Bender is both our strength and our limitation. We’ve been focusing on what our current readers love, like male-to-female transformations and girl’s love stories. But we’re hitting a ceiling; there’s only so much interest in this specific genre.

So, what’s our game plan to fight back against these falling numbers? Here’s the scoop:

Exploring Machine Translated Teasers: In response to the growing interest in machine translations, Re:Library is taking a nuanced approach. We’re introducing machine translated teasers, carefully curated to acquaint readers with unexplored novels. These teasers have a dedicated section on our site, ensuring they won’t clutter the front page. While not immediately visible, we hope they’ll contribute to increased views. Furthermore, these teasers might even become candidates for human translation through a future popularity vote.

Opening Up to New Publishers: We’re toying with the idea of letting other writers and translators host their novels on Re:Library. We know our posting process isn’t the friendliest, and we’re aiming to fix that to make it easier for newcomers.

Merchandise: You might have noticed the “Merchandise” menu hanging around on our site. We’re planning to open up a shop with cool stuff like t-shirts, mousepads, and pillows featuring the original characters we’ve designed over the past few months. We’re just running one final shipping test before the grand opening. The idea behind this merchandise venture is to not only offer awesome goodies but also to spread the word about our platform.

Genre Expansion: To draw in new audiences, we need to broaden our horizons. That entails moving beyond our current repertoire. While we’ve catered to male-to-female transformation and girl’s love, it’s time to venture into traps, female-to-male transformation, and boy’s love. Our aim is to diversify our offerings and capture a wider audience. We value your feedback, especially since our main focus has been male-to-female Genderswap. If there’s strong interest, we might even form a new team for these genres.

Thank you for being part of our community and your continued support. We’re dedicated to overcoming these challenges and ensuring a vibrant future for Re:Library. If you have any suggestions or feedback on how to improve our views/readership, feel free to leave your comments below.

Introducing Machine Translated Teasers

Recently, an intriguing idea was brought to our attention, and we can’t help but consider it as an exciting experiment. What if Re:Library started hosting 100% machine-translated novels on our site as teasers and later allowed human translators to pick up the most popular choices through Patreon polls?

We’ve been inspired by the potential benefits of such an endeavor, aiming to introduce you all to a broader range of Gender Bender novels and potentially uncover hidden gems along the way. These MTL teasers will be housed in a brand-new section on the site, ensuring clear labeling to distinguish them from human-translated works.

fWeGpXO
The MTL teasers will be further divided into their own language group:
Chinese Novels: https://re-library.com/tag/machine-translation-cn/
Japanese Novels: https://re-library.com/tag/machine-translation-jp/

Now, for a quick FAQ to address your concerns:

Q: Will Machine Translations replace human translators?
A: No, machine translations won’t replace human translators. While tools like ChatGPT can help with quick and basic translations, they lack the nuanced understanding, cultural insight, and linguistic finesse of human translators.

Q: What is the purpose of these MTL Teasers?
A: These machine-translated teasers introduce readers to undiscovered novels, acting like extended synopses. They help patrons decide which novel to vote for human translation.

Q: Will these 100% MTLs be edited or proofread?
A: While we understand the importance of quality, these teasers won’t undergo extensive editing or proofreading. Our intention is to use AI assistance to generate the text, serving as a glimpse into the fascinating stories waiting to be discovered.

New Affiliate Program

We are thrilled to announce some exciting developments as we work towards our vision of creating the ultimate hub for Gender Bender novels. To further expand our offerings, we have launched an affiliate program that aims to bring talented translators on board. We will be reaching out to translators, offering them the opportunity to host their translations on Re:Library as freelancers while sharing in the ad revenue generated.

We understand that some translators may prefer to maintain their independence, which is why we are also offering an alternative option. Under this arrangement, a dedicated publisher will be assigned to post chapters on our site, ensuring a one-week delay to support the exclusivity of the translator’s own website.

We are pleased to announce that three translators have already joined us on this exciting journey. Saloi Translations will be hosting “I Decided to Become a Perfect Girl” as a freelance translator, while V-rus Translations and Bell Rock Translations have chosen to join our affiliate program. They have granted us permission to host “I Was Heartbroken, So I Became A VTuber” and “North x Northwest” on Re:Library, respectively. While we are in the process of transferring the chapters, you can still visit the translators’ sites to enjoy their existing translations!

Additionally, we are delighted to introduce Ryukas as our dedicated publisher for the affiliates. Let’s extend a warm welcome to Ryukas for their valuable contribution to our growing community.

We believe that these new collaborations will enrich our platform and provide you with a wider selection of captivating Gender Bender novels. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to expand and enhance your Re:Library experience.

Thank you for your ongoing support and enthusiasm.

New Poster (Coming Soon)!

Today, we come to you with an exciting project that will add a touch of artistic flair to our website.

We are thrilled to announce our plan to commission a captivating header image for our website, and we need your support to make it a reality. The banner will not only beautify our platform but also showcase all of our newly created mascots. It will feature stunning artwork, six captivating characters, an adorable pet, and a mesmerizing background, all crafted by a talented artist.

To achieve this, we are seeking your help to raise a total of $495.85. In the first month, we aim to allocate $179.35 to bring two characters, a pet, and a captivating background to life. The subsequent two months will see the addition of two more characters, with each month requiring $158.25.

Here is an insight into the revenue and expenditure of Re:Library over the specified months:

August 2022 saw an increase in revenue to $220.81, with expenses focused on WordPress Snippet Pro, and Bookwalker purchases.

September 2022 had revenue of $146.78, with significant spending on Bookwalker and a logo concept.

October 2022 saw revenue increase to $173.79, but expenses exceeded earnings due to translation fees and an expense on Sylphie’s reference sheet.

November 2022 revenue decreased to $122.00, with lower expenses on a Patreon banner and Bookwalker purchases.

December 2022 revenue increased to $206.20, with expenses allocated to fan art related to Hero’s Daughter and Hero King.

February 2023 revenue was $161.38, with expenses lower in comparison, including emotes and AinCiel fan art.

New Logo, New Emotes & More

It has been a while since we last introduced Re:Library’s Mascot. At the time of introduction, some of the reference sheets were still in production, but today we are happy to announce the reference sheets of all 7 mascot characters and 1 pet are now done! We’ve put them together on a size chart for a side-by-side comparison of the character’s proportions, you can preview them below:

With the completion of the reference sheets, we can now proceed to the next phase. However, before doing so, I would like to address the matter of the logos and emoticons. Although I have not made any official statement in recent months, it is likely that regular visitors to Re:Library may have observed several modifications made to the site logo. Below are a few examples of the logos we have utilized over the past few months, with one of them receiving criticism for resembling a cryptocurrency logo.

Depreciated Logos

In the end, we’ve decided to stick with these two logos for the website and discord respectively:

Moving on, we have already commissioned 2 sets of emoticons featuring our mascots, and we intend to ultimately replace all the emoticons on our Discord server with these personalized ones. Additionally, I have made these emoticons available as stickers on the website, allowing visitors to utilize them when posting comments on the site.

It may have come to the attention of some individuals that the emoticon functionality on our website was non-operational for a period of time. This was due to the expiration of our license, which caused the plugin to deactivate itself. Although we were previously informed that we could still utilize the latest version of the plugin at the time our license expired, it turned out to be untrue, necessitating us to renew our license. However, we are pleased to announce that the emoticon feature is now completely restored and available for use.

Our next development involves a collaboration with RedBubble to launch an online merchandise store. The way RedBubble operates is that they handle the printing and shipping of the products on our behalf, and we receive a royalty of approximately 20% of the purchase price. While we are not yet prepared to launch, as we are still assessing the quality of the merchandise, I have personally placed an order and am currently waiting for it to arrive before we can make an official announcement. Nevertheless, we have already uploaded some designs on RedBubble, and the store is already accessible online. If you are interested, you can preview our store by clicking on the following link:

roof1

And finally, regarding the banner, our plan is to commission a design that will replace the current header image of our website and also be utilized as the background for invites on our Discord server. Since including all 7 characters and 1 pet in the banner will no doubt cost us a hefty sum, I’m thinking to start with a more modest approach. Initially, we will feature only 2 characters and gradually add the remaining characters later on. I have already contacted an artist who expressed interest, but since they rarely create backgrounds, they are uncertain if they can fulfill our request and have agreed to attempt it before providing a quote. We are hoping to receive a response from them soon.

Rich Richie joins Re:Library

Today, a new freelance translator has joined the Re:Library family and decided to translate I became a Beautiful Girl, but I’m still an MMO Junkie from the ground up. The previous version translated by Secret Imouto is completely butchered up and I totally agree with Richie’s decision to re-translate the whole thing. I wouldn’t want to read a single chapter translated by Secret Imouto anyway, they are very infamous for ruining any good novels they picked up due to their horrendous translation.

Now we are aware that another group has picked up where the Secret Imouto left off, but that doesn’t change our course of action, our goal here is to fix all the mistakes made by the previous translator and we will continue to do so. If at some point we reached the chapters translated by the Galaxy translation team, then that is something Richie will have to sort out with the other team, hopefully we will be able to come to a proper resolution.

Without further ado, give Richie your best regards and enjoy the read:

Introducing Re:Library Mascots

We have been meaning to introduce these mascot characters to you much earlier but the artist we commissioned to do the reference sheets for these characters has gone missing in action. In fact, only 4 out of 7 were done by the time this post was live. I did get a bit impatient and went ahead to commission another artist to finish mine so that we can proceed to the next stage sooner.

There were still no news from the original artist so we went ahead and commissioned 2 other artists to finish the remaining character sheets for us and they were finally all completed at early May 2023.

For now, I’ll go ahead and introduce you all to the mascot characters we have created, each character here is based on the publishers and editors of Re:Library.

1. Sylphie d’Elysium

BackgroundPersonalityPowersBiography
Sylphie was a new god born from the faith she received from her followers as an influencer in her past life. Since she had hundreds of thousands of followers, she could be considered a god with considerable power. However, as a new god, and an individual with zero contact with magic before, Sylphie did not know how to utilize her power. Therefore, the senior gods decided to seal Sylphie’s divine powers and sent her to a fantasy world with myriads of magical beings and had her study magic under the fairy queen. It was only after studying under the queen of fairies for a 100 years was Sylphie finally allowed to leave the sanctuary, Elysium, to explore the world and learn about their cultures. Everything in this world was new to Sylphie so she was always filled with curiosity and often got herself into minor troubles.
Shy and reserved around strangers, but has a carefree and loving personality around her friends. She’s a bit clumsy and gullible, so she always gets pulled into other people’s pace and gets teased easily. She is curious by nature so she tries to learn new things everyday. The way she keeps practicing the same skills and learning new ones day after day may seem like a crazy endeavor from an outsider’s perspective but she only does it because she thinks it’s fun.
Whilst Sylphie was still unable to properly utilize her divine power, she can change her genders and those around her with ease since she fully understood the biology of both sexes. The bracelet she’s always wearing is based on the infinity gauntlet and serves as a vessel to contain the divine powers that she wasn’t able to fully control. The six stones on the bracelet contain the ability of space, time, reality, power, mind, and soul respectively. She doesn’t necessarily need the bracelet to use her divine power but it helps her control it.

The power to change gender comes from the reality stone. In order to use her divine power, she has to utilize faith energy, so it’s not as if she can use them without limits. In other words, she can’t snap half the existence in the universe to dust like Thanos did, at most she can only snap like 1,000 at most at the cost of her own existence. If she used all her faith energy at once, she’ll cease to exist.

Even if she can’t make full use of her divine power, she is still a god and thus is one of the most powerful beings in the mortal world. However, as a matter of fact, most of her powers actually have minimal effects on powerful beings with divine power, much less other gods.

In order to become a proper god, she has to gain more believers outside of her past life’s followers. Once her past life’s influence starts to dwindle, she’ll lose her only source of Faith Energy and thus slowly fade out of existence. Her believers will gain an infinitesimal amount of her divine power every time they pray to her.

(That is why it is impossible to kill a god, even if you kill them, they’ll eventually resurrect if they still have lots of believers. The only way to kill a god is to slay them so they cannot interfere in the mortal world and take this chance to wipe out all their believers so they lose their source of Faith Energy and cannot recover.)

Name: Sylphie d’Elysium
Race: Fairy (God)
Height: 12.5 cm (Human size – 146 cm)
Sex: Female
Hair: Pink
Eyes: Deep Blue

2. Robin Al-Logia

BackgroundPersonalityBiography
A noble scion from upper aristocracy that specialises in alchemy research and astronomy.

Sometimes he dreams of other worlds with advanced technology, and makes several efforts to replicate them using magic.

Uses an Astrolabe equipped staff for spatial magic, derived from the same concept as the antikythera mechanism.

Is able to cast magic remotely via the pair of catalyst orbs he keeps with him at all time, they are able to freely fly around and appear to have personalities of their own, though that is just conjecture.

Fond of all those cute, he has a reputation for sending elaborate gifts to noble daughters.

He is extremely fond of reading, and takes efforts to learn about all sorts of nonsensical trivia others consider irrelevant, often using them at boring social conventions he’d rather not attend.

His eccentricities extend to his other hobbies, as he spends most of his free time researching, designing and building all sorts of magical contraptions without regard for practicality.

His most distinct characteristic is probably just how much he places emphasis on treating Fana like his own younger sister, with almost religious fervour.

3. Fana Al-Welsh

BackgroundPersonalityBiography
Royal Queen of the Welsh Kingdom, she has heard stories of her ancestor’s great exploit and how the kingdom came to be, she wishes to be like them one day so she abused her authority to train with the knights to polish her skills.

One day, Fana gets bored and decides to escape the castle and see the sights of her kingdom, which she could only imagine, stuck on her throne. After working out some details with Robin, she escapes with Sylphie in tow. To not be recognized by her citizens, she disguised herself as a man and went to register as an adventurer, as that seemed to be fun. Liomad, after noticing Fana’s disappearance, quickly catches up to her after receiving a few vague hints from Robin, only to find her in the adventurer’s guild. Liomad swiftly saw through her disguise and dragged her into a private room of the guild. After a brief discussion, Liomad gets roped into joining her since she gave up on convincing Fana to return.

Through their travels, they get to meet people from all walks of life, Serolithia the arachne, Fira the fire spirit, Ceres the fallen angel, and many others.

Fana acts prim and proper in front of her retainers and citizens but she actually idolised the lives of adventurers. Her favorite pastime is spending a quiet afternoon in the library while listening to Robin talk about his latest inventions.

4. Dex

BackgroundPersonalityPowersBiography
Dex the chihuahua had been abandoned by their owner when he was still a young puppy. Now alone and homeless, the young puppy didn’t know where to go and tried to scrape up food any which way he could, begging by acting cute, scavenging the local dumpster, hunting small animals in back alleys, and sometimes even stealing from food stalls.

One day, Dex somehow wandered into the barracks and encountered the young Liomad training with her spear. Dex noticed the lunchbox Liomad left on the bench and tried to snatch it, but Liomad soon noticed him and stopped his attempt with ease.

Being the stubborn type that he was, Dex wasn’t going to back down like this, he kept going back to the barrack everyday to steal Liomad’s lunchbox. Sometimes he succeeded, sometimes he failed, and somehow they developed a weird relationship of being the chaser or the chased. Dex could instinctively tell Fana was Liomad’s boss, so he usually acted coy and harmless in front of Fana.

Has the mentality to never give up no matter how hopeless the situation, is very loyal and protective to those he opens his heart to. Dex has a very shrewd mind and always comes up with new tricks to one up Liomad.

5. Liomad Redscale

BackgroundPersonalityPowersBiography
Liomad is a knight serving under Fana as her bodyguard. At first, she approached her duty with a professional attitude, and treated Fana with the respect she was due, but as the years went by, she eventually warmed up to her. She was a war orphan, abandoned in the barracks as her father died in battle and her mother was always absent, leading her to be raised by the collective that is the soldiers of the kingdom, who chose to adopt her. In this environment filled with men(and the occasional women), Liomad lacked what others would consider a feminine attitude. The small number of female soldiers tried their best, but they were battle-hardened veterans, which didn’t help in Liomad’s upbringing. As a result, she has no interest in embroidery and the like, but in weapons and combat. Growing older, Liomad has shown a remarkable aptitude for handling weapons in combat. At the age of 14, she managed to beat the veteran soldiers in a duel without any magic, and at 19, defeated the guard captain. At 20, she received the honor to become the royal guard of Fana, which she accepted.
Liomad acts seriously, but is kind to others. Despite the presence of multiple men in the barracks where she was raised, she is extremely prude, as the female soldiers went to great lengths to avoid ‘tainting’ her. Her prudeness has become a teasing point for many people close to her. During her free time, she can be seen practicing with her spear or patrolling around the streets of the city.
Liomad’s abilities revolve mainly around using her aura in combat. Her aura is light pink in color but has been seen to occasionally become red. She is capable of using her spear in many different stances, which allows her to deliver a flurry of attacks that is variable and interchangeable.
Name: Liomad Redscale
Height: 178 cm
Age: 26
Sex: Female
Hair: Pink
Eyes: Emerald Green

6. Lithianne Sero

BackgroundPersonalityPowersBiography
Lithianne Sero, better known as Serolithia in human society, is one of the rare arachne race born between the fusion of man and spider. She was the only arachne in the group after the previous generation queen had died shortly after giving birth to her, so she was treated as the next queen of spiders.

The spiders would bring all kinds of food and loot to Serolithia but she couldn’t quite savor the taste of raw meat, so she ended up eating fruits most of the time. One day, the spiders brought back a picture book, Serolithia couldn’t understand the human language, but she was enamored by the colorful illustrations. She was also quite interested in the figures drawn in the picture book, humans, who share the same upper half as her’s.

Thus, she set out of the dwelling in hope of meeting some, but she was treated as a monster and got subjugated instead. But since Sero was a rare arachne race and had a beautiful appearance (at least her upper half is according to the human’s aesthetic), they didn’t kill her but captured her to be sold as slave instead.

Ever since then, Serolithia has become distrustful of people. While they were enroute to the capital, fireballs start firing out of nowhere and forced the adventurers to leave Serolithia behind. Soon after, a beautiful girl with red hair and a little fairy fluttering beside her appeared as if from thin air.

Very quiet and generally indifferent or distrustful of people, doesn’t like to talk too much and is often nearly expressionless. Loves to read stories and especially romance and even more specially yuri.

Around people that she finds comfortable to be with, she’s much more expressive and affectionate although still maintaining her tendency to talk as little as possible. Kuudere type.

Various forms of magic, specialised in illusions and dark magic. Trained in hidden weapons with her spider threads and poison, hand-to-hand combat, high physical strength and self-regeneration, stronger and faster if she molts.
Name: Serolithia / Lithianne Sero
Height: 160 cm (Arachne form: 220 cm)
Sex: Female
Hair: Predominantly black but can appear very dark purple under some lighting
Eyes: Dark red eyes with slightly slit pupils

7. Fira von Ifrit

BackgroundPersonalityPowersBiography
Fira is a high-ranking fire spirit and is the daughter of Ifrit, one of the four Spirit Kings in the world. She was born and raised in the sanctuary of spirits, and had never set foot to the outside world even once. She was disinterested in everything around her and would prefer to immerse herself in reading, until one day she was introduced to a “newborn” fairy who was said to be the next Fairy Queen. That queer fairy named Sylphie would approach her with no qualms of status when others are usually wary around her due to her being the daughter of the Spirit King. She would often tell stories of her adventures, how oh-so-fun it is in the outside world, and constantly nagged Fira to go with her.
Taciturn and uncaring. Since Fira doesn’t receive much parental affection from her parents due to how busy they are, she grew up without much attachment to anything other than the books she often reads to kill time. Due to her status, she doesn’t have many people who she can call friends either so she turned out to be very uncommunicative. But deep down inside, she yearns for familial love and everlasting friendship.
As a fire spirit and the daughter of Ifrit, Fira naturally has very high proficiency for fire elements. She could easily burn down an entire city if she fights at full power.
Name: Fira von Ifrit
Height: 163 cm
Race: Fire Spirit
Sex: Female
Hair: Red with black highlight
Eyes: Ruby Red

Phew, now that the introductions are over. What do you think of the character backgrounds? Interesting right? There was a time I was so hyped when we wrote this that I even considered hiring a ghostwriter to turn this into a full blown story. But the hype has kind of died down now several months after waiting for the artist to finish up. Maybe one day in the future we’ll host a writing competition and have participants write up a prologue with up to 10k words. Who knows?

[New Series] Vampire Princess’ Rose-colored Dream

Re:Library has decided to pick up Vampire Princess’ Rose-colored Dream. Big thanks to our new investor, Amaryllis, for sponsoring this project. And also to our new translator, Tanaka, who will be translating this series. We also want to thank all the editors who worked tirelessly to fix some of the old chapters and build up the terms sheet for our translator to work with.

After taking a look at all the currently available chapters online, we have decided to pick this up starting from Volume 3 Chapter 14 due to readability reason. At Re:Library, we care about quality, we don’t just randomly pick up any abandoned project and dump it on a translator and have them work on it without any sort of quality check. Which is why we normally don’t pick up abandoned projects, because it will take a long time to go through all the previous chapters to make sure all the terms are matching and edit the parts that seem out of place.

As for why we decided to pick up Vampire Princess’ Rose-colored Dream, it is because this series is connected to Ragweed Princess of Livithium Kingdom that we picked up recently. This story takes place approximately 100 years after Vampire Princess and they are some deep connections between the two, so it would be a sin not to finish this series.
