Moreover, this student was a commoner, clearly hurting his ego even more. And thanks to this sideshow unfolding, our princesses were able to take their practicals inconspicuously.

I guess the closest you would get would be “errand boy” or “errand girl”…
It’s an interesting one when you think about it, it’s not like the role doesn’t technically exist, but we haven’t separated it by its own name really.

There has to be something to draw our protagonist into outside events, otherwise starting so early with the kingdom would take the wind out of the sails.
