“Come on, you don’t need to go down on your knees for me to resurrect her…”
“S-Sorry. Looks like I caught some of Rir’s habits…”

That means his girlfriend often prostrates herself… I guess? Or does Shuu like to do roleplay where he forces her on her knees…? Meh, doesn’t matter.

“Anyway. I’ll need one of her hairs to bring her back… Are there some in your home?”
“Yep, there are… wait. There should be some in my bag…”

Hang on, he put some of his girlfriend’s hair in his bag? Maybe he picked up some strange tastes… From what I know, at least at the start of the second year of high school, all he had was a preference for girls with a big rack.

“You… you’re carrying around hair of your girlfriend…”
“I-It’s not what it sounds like, alright!? She herself gave it to me… it’s a long story! More importantly, my bag! Where’s my bag…?”

Even though it likely wasn’t something that’d fit in his pockets, Shuu started searching the clothes on his lower body which hadn’t been burned. As he was busy with that, Sakura held out something to him.

“Is… this it?”
“Hm? Oh! My bag! Thanks, Sakura!”
“I thought you might need it when you went bag to normal, so I picked it up. Looks like I was right.”

Shuu happily took the bag from her.
At any rate, I wonder when she picked that up¹.

After rummaging around in the bag, Shuu brought out a bundle. It was made of blueish-white hair with something resembling a natto bean in between… And it looked like there was blood smeared here and there…

“Erm, this is it. This is Rir’s hair.”
“Wha-!? This is her hair?”
“Yup. I’m pretty sure… she said it’s made of hair from her head and tail, and then a tooth and blood…”
“What!?” I ended up yelling.

What the hell is this? It’s repulsive. Shuu… I had no idea you turned into a deviant…
This is bad… really bad… Even I would almost never carry around Mika’s body parts².

“You… what did you become? How did you get that from your girlfriend? Depending on your answer, you might be demoted from ‘best friend’ to ‘friend’.”
“Ah… y-you misunderstand! Try appraising it.”

I did as he asked and used my skill. The result showed it as an item called “Wolfkin’s Proof of Loyalty”… a symbol of loyalty and affection which wolfkin could give just once in their life to the person they planned to follow for the rest of their days.

What, so Shuu isn’t a deviant, after all?

“…Right?”
“Then let’s quickly bring her back,” I said and stretched out my hand to pluck a hair from the bundle. However, Shuu hesitated. “What’s wrong?”
“Ah… well, if you revive her now… Rir will be naked…”
“Mika and Sakura are here, so I’m sure they can help her change. If you need clothing, I can prepare it… is that alright with you?”
“Sure thing,” Mika agreed.
“You can prepare clothes?” Shuu asked.
“Yep, look.”

I created a set of under- and outerwear in an instant and showed it to Shuu.

“…! I-I see. In that case.”
“Alright, use this to resurrect her. A single drop will be enough. Have her drink the rest.”

I held out an Amrita together with the clothes.

“Ah… s-sorry. Erm… Sakura, could you…”
“Come on, you should be the one to revive her, Shuu,” Mika stopped him, as he tried handing Sakura the girlfriend revival kit.
“Huh… but…”
“She’s your girlfriend, isn’t she?”
“S-She is.”
“Then it should be fine. If this Rir cares enough for you to give you that bundle, she won’t mind being naked in front of you.”
“T-That’s true. Yep, certainly.”

The way Shuu said that made it sound as if he had seen it already. Could that be true…? Well, Mika and I had seen each other naked, and I wasn’t planning to pry much, but… I decided to ask him in a whisper.

“(Shuu… did you do something with her?)”
“Huh… w-why do you ask?”
“(Well, the way you replied earlier sounded as if you’d seen her naked already…)”
“…I can’t go into the details, but… well.”
“Heh-heh, then why don’t you start already?” I took Shuu’s rugged hands and pushed the clothes and Amrita into them. “Kanata and I will turn our backs, so go and bring her back.”
“Hm, alright,” Shuu agreed with a serious look, as if he had mentally prepared himself.

Kanata and I turned our backs.

“You can begin. Oh, you should spread out this sheet before you do.”
“Thanks.”

After Shuu took the sheet from my hands, I heard a rustling sound. He had probably put it on the ground.

“I’ll bring her back, then…!”

With my back turned I couldn’t see anything, but it seemed like the resurrection ceremony had started.

1. Probably at some point after Kanata and Surtr left for the uninhabited island and before Alim and Mika arrived.
2. That “almost never” modifier is worrying.
