Automata Maid Chapter 114

As you know I’ve been playing Starfield lately.
I have 27 hours in it so far (from official release, not early access!) and recently finished the UC Vanguard storyline.
I really enjoyed that one, and it had some great world building stuff in it!

I don’t mean lore either.
I mean actual player impact on the world at large!
There were multiple points in the story where the news radio spoke about stuff I was doing, where NPCs changed their reactions, and where there were little set pieces in the levels to reflect ongoing events, and then at the end there were distinct changes in the attitudes of some people in radiant dialogue.

Automata Maid Chapter 113

Since this is an Automata chapter let’s discuss Nier Automata.
Only one thing though…

Has anyone else noticed how weirdly frequent Nier does collabs with things?
Like why is that?
Do companies want Nier collabs? Does Nier want collabs? It’s a big franchise so do they just not charge much for collabs? Or what?
It’s strange to me! I want to know!

Sword, Tiara & High Heels Chapter 91

I have a terrible habit of getting distracted when doing these editing runs for this, they take twice or three times as long as they need to because I will do things on my other monitor.
If I just focused I could blitz through them much much faster.

I know some of the delay is coming up with rambles however, but that’s not all of the reason.
I really do just get distracted.
That’s it! No more distractions today!

Sword, Tiara & High Heels Chapter 90

I finished reading Blue Archive’s “Volume F” story today.
What a ride that was, honestly haven’t felt that excited about things since probably… when I finished the first arc of Grand Order?

The way it came together was amazing.
Anyway no spoilers but like, if you want compelling writing in gacha games then somehow Blue Archive has nailed it.

Fourteen Moons Chapter 15

A fairly hectic start to the week as my grandfather passed away on Tuesday, but aside from that, it’s been a good week.

This chapter I wanted to make it a bit more… warm? (not sure if that’s the word) and looking back at it now, that could be something I subconsciously did, or possibly just a coincidence. Either way, I hope everyone enjoyed Evetta and Faraine’s interactions today. I’d like to hear your thoughts on Faraine’s character up to know (likes, dislikes, etc.) (she’s much more vocal than I had planned, but I’m fine with that).

In other news, I’m thinking of adding in small interlude chapters that would be roughly 1k-2k words (like a mini-chapter) from side characters shortly after they are introduced. If  I do add them, there would be two that I’d like to add for sure. The first would take place between chapters 3 and 4 and it would be from Revus’ perspective for readers to get his thoughts on Evetta before she can fully communicate with him. The other would be Faraine’s and it would be between chapters 15 and 16, so following this chapter.

In other other news, I’m also thinking of changing the Prologue. I imagine most people won’t be a fan of the idea, but the prologue isn’t doing it’s job quite as effectively as I’d hoped it would when I first wrote it. I’d like to change it to the event surrounding Revus escaping from Kāālith as it would likely support the current material more at the moment. Evetta’s backstory (the current prologue) will still exist, but I’ll likely bring it back at a later point since the information isn’t as relevant to the overall story. Additionally, the readers will learn more about Evetta’s backstory through her nightmares, so personally, I think it allows for the readers to obtain more information overall.

(THINKING…) I think that’s everything. I’d like to hear your thoughts on my ideas and as always, stay healthy, stay safe, and sleeps for reading.

The Guild’s Cheat Receptionist Chapter 7-5 Part 2

Someone got arrested and jailed in Japan for copyright infringement over sharing youtube videos of visual novels, and people are getting mad about it for some reason?
Visual novels have always had some degree of content embargos on them because you literally kill all reason to buy them if you can just watch the entire thing.
It’s not rare to see fresh releases have a clause that prevents showing material of them beyond a certain point in the story in their entirety, forbid commentary-less runs and/or ending videos.

Not to mention the youtuber was making edits to reduce run time. Essentially condensing the story into an abridged and more easily consumed form. Without commentary!
That will harm sales because some people don’t want to sit through a 20+ hour visual novel.

All the online outrage seems to be just around “evil corporation crushing youtuber with copyright abuse” and it’s completely missing the nuance of the case.
A visual novels gameplay is the story, so by putting that story out there you are violating copyright.
The fact they were cutting down the runtime by removing any of the filler parts which makes it more consumable than the source material, which makes it a substitute. AND the content was monetized.

This guy deserved to be slapped with copyright infringement.

The Guild’s Cheat Receptionist Chapter 7-5 Part 1

As Starfield consumes my soul, with about 20 hours playtime in the two or three days it’s been out… I would like to bring you this chapter.
I promised myself I’d rush the main story so I could do the repeated NG+ needed to max out the skill tree but…

Hmmmmm… it’s getting difficult to resist the allure of unravelling mysteries now for one full playthrough later.
I might surrender to my desire.
Anyway enough rambling, here’s your chapter.
