Wow it’s 4am already here.
I feel like I’ve done nothing all day. It’s so weird.
So let’s break things down!
It hit 30 degrees here today, that’s a whole 50% over my comfort level. Safe to say it was hot.
I did some rudimentary design work on the concept of my fantasy submarine, mostly on aesthetic rather than function now, wanted to get the looks right.
I hit 20,000 points on my realm in Genshin, courtesy of two furniture sets I finished.
Uhm there were some other things too but I’m too tired to say.
Everyone is asleep on discord too so I have nobody to poke.

Last time on AinCiel: Upon returning home, our older princess had a bout of jealousy and overthinking, to the point where she was experiencing what could be described as an out of character moment. Still, our mature younger princess safely managed to calm her down. However, in another roller coaster twist, the landlady (seemingly under Ciel’s request?) spiked the older princess’ drink with truth serum while the younger princess was asleep! Now after all of this, out older princess laid down on the bed to sleep, but now that it’s an interlude, what’s going to happen this chapter?

I fully caught up with the Spirit Chronicles light novel.
I read the web novel back in the day and I dropped it during the infamous “letter incident”.
As you may be aware the “letter incident” was a terrible and stupid arc in the web novel.
The light novel, having realised this, scrapped it entirely for an alternate version of events.
And it works sooooooo much better.
I’m so glad honestly.
This is what makes writing great, and why drafts are so important.
Originally I was going to use this prechapter ramble to talk about my impressions of Realist Hero’s latest episode.
Instead I’m going to follow up on my previous ramble about worldbuilding and art.
I finally settled on what piece of art I will commission next.
Although if I can grab a slot with the artist is up to chance, so we shall see!
But I’m thinking of going with Eleanor (the heroine) in a ball gown type formal dress.
We’ve brainstormed ideas and I have a pretty solid vision of her style, so I think it will turn out well.
The original plan was to get the main protagonist done, but he can wait.
Do you ever just do research for a novel you’re working on and just… get lost in the aether?
First I wanted to use alchemy symbols for the magic but realised alchemy went out of fashion before a lot of the scientific concepts my magic uses were invented, so I’d have to invent old style alchemy symbols to fill the gaps in scientific development! I’d literally be reinventing the periodic table!
Then I was looking at submarine concepts on how the design of the magical submarine would work and ended up on some scifi royal navy concept vessel that used zero point energy.
Crazy!
I need to stop worldbuilding and eventually write one day.
