My internet just died right when I was about to hit the schedule button…
I am so lucky I noticed discord disconnect before I hit the button, because otherwise the timeout would have forced me to copy and edit the entire chapter over again.
I do now have the problem of I can’t log off and get into bed until my internet reconnects though…
I hope it’s not long, otherwise I will be in trouble.
I have to wake up early tomorrow.
When this goes live it should be the game award day I think?
Not sure if it’s like, before or after though.
I think it’s after, the stream says it’s on the 7th but that’s in a different timezone and this is scheduled for the 9th in another timezone.
So I think this chapter should release on the same day as the stream but about 12 hours after it.
Ouch.
The entire Jumplight Odyssey dev team just got laid off, I guess that’s what happens when one indie company tries to work on multiple games at once.
A real shame because it had a lot of promise, its price was just too high for me to buy into it during early access. And it seems like for good reason, albeit a bittersweet one.
Kind of sucks though… I really liked the Space Battleship Yamato and Evil Genius combo it had going.
My parents revealed that they bought me a chocolate advent calendar this year as well.
I was surprised at first, because it was just left on the table when I went to get a snack.
My mum joked that I was a bit old for one, but who in their right mind would turn down free chocolate?
Anyway, now it feels like December proper, as opposed to where I had to post the December chapters a day early because of timezones!

I don’t remember what it is, so you’ll just have to accept bonus chapters whenever we release bonus chapters.
I actually forgot to schedule this chapter in advance…
The website is a few hours ahead of me so it’s actually already December by the site calendar…
Wordpress broke for me.
For some reason it’s not using the full width of my window to display the text editor.
So I’m having to use this tiny crushed box to do the chapter updates…
I hope this goes away by tomorrow…
Why did it have to be on the day I do four chapters it breaks!
Recently because of the game awards I’ve been listening to a lot of Soken works while editing.
Of course, Long Fall is always on my playlists.
But I’ve also dabbled in the XVI soundtrack now, even though I haven’t played it yet.
Actually I haven’t played a Final Fantasy game other than XIV since my XIII replay years ago.
Neither XV or XVI or the games between.
The original Half Life getting an update and going free reminded me of the hilarity that is Half Life But the AI Is Self Aware.
However what made me laugh more was the patch notes for the 25th anniversary update.
With entries such as:
•The entire UI has been reworked to scale at larger screen sizes. We built most of this stuff for 640×480 CRTs and apparently some of you have upgraded since then.
•Removed the now very unnecessary “Low video quality. Helps with slower video cards.” setting.
Oops, I got super invested in reading reddit posts after my friend linked me a review of a game I was considering buying.
It’s wild how rabbit holes suck you in like that.
Anyway, I will now rush to get these chapters done on time!
I beat Talos II.
55/59 achievements at just over 27 hours of playtime.
But the remaining ones would require more playthroughs and I don’t really have the energy to commit another 20 hours to get them, even if I can save myself time by not being a completionist on a second go through and just focus on beelining what I need for the achievements.
Amazing game, I think the philosophy of the first one was much more interesting to me personally, but that’s because I had never thought about those topics before.
Talos II is much more about society rather than individuals, and they used the framework of one of my favourite myths to explore that…
Which is to say, I had long before made up my mind on this topic, and the game less about my thoughts being challenged but rather about me impressing it upon the narrative.
I came to the conclusion two days ago that my hair needs cutting.
You may be wondering why.
