For the first time in a while I am actually not sure what to write here.
It’s been a while since I had nothing at all to write about here!
Hm, nothing overly interesting in my games has happened either.
Well, I suppose in my current X4 Foundations playthrough an interesting sandbox event happened due to the dynamic AI.
The pacifist Boron race have started to invade the warrior Split patriarchy.
Should we call it preemptive diplomacy?
They are hardcoded to hate each other, so the war would have happened one way or the other, I just never expected the Boron to start the invasion…
I had an interesting world building discussion today on making a science fiction setting using fantasy tropes.
It was kind of interesting trying to create the feeling of a fantasy adventure setting using scifi.
I know stuff like Phantasy Star exists which also does it, fairly well too.
Oh and I don’t mean like Warhammer, sure that pigeon holes fantasy tropes into a scifi shaped package but it’s more like science fantasy than scifi using fantasy tropes…
If that even makes sense.
We’re now half way trough the side stories, that means only a few more weeks left of this story in total.
It feels kind of weird actually, this story had a weird start and took some interesting turns that others don’t.
Yet at the same time it felt very cliche… and very rushed.
Well, that’s kind of what one should expect from amateur self publishing I suppose, not everything will live to its potential.
We should just be thankful someone wrote it in the first place.
So someone I don’t know used a screenshot of a reddit post I made explaining a thing, to explain a thing to someone else I don’t know, in a discord server that I am not in, that then got screenshot and sent in another discord server that I am not in, but someone who knows me was in, who screenshot that to send to in another discord server that I am in.
Which is just the most surreal way to learn somehow a year old post on a gacha game subreddit is in circulation.
So apparently earlier this week there was a grand global purge of pretty much every majorly significant anime piracy site, which you know, fair enough…
But the anime archivists are now in tears trying to work out which shows have been lost into the chasm between “too old” and “formerly legal” to obtain.
And you don’t even have to go far back for this problem to start occurring either…
GATE, one of my favourite anime, has been removed from Crunchyroll for a long time since their license expired, and the dvds/bluray were a limited run and went out of sale years before that.
In other words, the only way to watch this anime at all right now is to pirate it, and it’s not even ten years old!
This is what happens when one company has the entire licensing market…
It’s September!
Wow, time really flies…
That means it will soon be the new school season here in the UK…
Not that I have gone to school in like an entire decade, but you know, things just remain associated like that.
If you are one of those people returning to school after the summer, then good luck to you.
May your grades be high and face be unslapped.
In the meantime our girls here will be ending their summer too!
After five chapters with Shuu, we’re back to Mephilad for two chapters. It’s the fourth day of Karua’s visit, and the number of guests only continues to grow.
