So our journey together ends here. Well, mostly ends here.
If you want more of my rambles I still have a presence on this site.
I post High Heels, Automata Maid and Maiden as well.
But our time with Cheat Receptionist ends here.
I mentioned before that I really didn’t invest myself in this story as much as the others overall, but even then this epilogue I think was perfect.
The final section was great, but the overall vibe of it was just what you want from this type of story.
After all, society doesn’t stop after the hero’s journey is complete.
So this is our last week of releases for this series.
Actually this is the final chapter, tomorrow will be the epilogue.
I hope that you have all enjoyed the ride here!
I know my commentary for this series has been… relatively sparse… but I think I added a few of my personal touches here and there.
Actually at first I wasn’t too invested in this series, it was just something I picked up because there was open schedule space to fill, but like everything I get attached to what I work on.
I got weirdly sentimental even though I planned to save that for tomorrow’s ramble… I wonder what I should do…
I am supposed to ramble here but I am not sure what on…
Hm.
I suppose I shall ramble about uh…
How I bought a new mattress protector?
My current one is getting frayed along the side and the fabric is tearing apart which means it doesn’t stay in place very well.
I’ve been meaning to get a new one for a while but I bought a replacement along with some plaster restock for my medical box.
We’re nearing the end of the journey now, just next week remains.
In other news, Reverse 1999 seems to be having a… mixed reception shall we say?
I’m interested to see what the general opinion of it is in a few days, but I doubt I will play.
Too busy with Blue Archive and the GFL franchise.
I’ve been watching my friend play Battletech and it’s making me want to retry it.
I didn’t get far in at first, but then some stuff happened and I never got back to it.
So much time has passed I forgot to play now.
Oh right, and on this topic.
I want to recreate my mech from the tabletop game.
My mother woke up today and chose to traumatise me.
It was late at night and I was going down for my usual snack before I start editing and reading before bed.
I am looking down into the perilous abyss of darkness that is the staircase.
I reach the bottom and look up, only to be greeted at eye level with a hanging skull…
I got invited for a job interview and I was really excited…
And then I saw all the details for it and my anxiety has skyrocketed.
It all takes place online but it involves tests mixed into the interview and just… eugh.
One of the tips is even to not look away from the screen or interviewer because it can deduct points?! LIKE WHAT?!
Yeah…
That’s a lot of stress for someone with autism.
I finished the Operation Starseed mission in Starfield.
That was the most Bethesdary Fallouty mission in the game so far.
Felt like it came straight out of a vault.
I also got my first crash! 120 hours into the game and it crashed!
Not sure what the cause was, nothing specific was happening, I just was running to a place and turned around quickly and it froze.
I finished the application for a job today.
They made me do a maths test with about 10 or so questions.
Really complicated maths questions… like unnecessarily complex questions.
Apparently I scored better than 76% of test takers.
Whatever that means…
Anyway, let’s hope that my apparently decent score is good enough to make up for my probably lacking work history.
According to the internet, NFTs are officially dead.
This brings me great joy.
I had a friend who was super into mining crypto but I don’t think he ever got into NFTs…
That’s my closest personal experience with them.
But seriously the way so many companies tried to jump on the bandwagon until the public just eviscerated them…
Ah what a nostalgic memory.
I wonder how Square Enix is doing?
The past hour I have been hearing what sounds like two tone music.
Just swapping from one tone to another, but it’s not an alarm.
It’s far too slow to be an alarm.
Unless it’s like an alarm that’s running out of battery or something?
Anyway it’s very distant and droning, kind of ominous.
I was going to come up with a ramble but I am too lazy tonight.
So instead have this!
It’s the authors warning from the start of this chapter:
This arc will contain depictions of disasters. They will be loose representations at the expense of anxiety and concreteness, but still, keep it in mind.
This is the final arc, “The Guild’s Cheat Receptionist”.
I just finished the mission “Entangled” on Starfield and boy, the entire thing was basically like that level of Titanfall 2 just less fluid.
Which makes sense, you know it’s an RPG not an action game, of course it’s not going to be a tight motion based fluid level.
But anyway, it hit me when I started going back and forth and I loved every minute of it.
Probably tied with the “First Contact” mission for my favourite.
Although the section with the museum in “Unearthed” had me smiling ear to ear too.
