Ironically I happened to have left a playlist running and it was going through the Fate/Grand Order OST as I was scheduling this one.
Given all the Arthurian references in this novel I feel that’s quite fitting.
Actually doubly so for this chapter.

I mentioned in a different ramble that it has been snowing where I live.
So I’m going to use this ramble to talk about the moment where my lights flickered!
It was obviously because of the snow, but I was streaming D&D at the time so I made a joke about it being an EMP.

Would have been fun if it was an EMP but sadly my other electronics were not targeted.
Clearly I am not enough of a threat to our alien overlords yet.

I was reading another web novel lately and in it there’s a release of a space vrmmo game all about building ships and exploring the galaxy.
It reminded me that I was partially writing a novel concept for that which actually made it to the “first chapter stage” which is more than can be said for my other concepts.

It was that one where the guy gets transported into another reality with all his assets from a space mmo game.
I was going to have him a player shipyard for the designing and building of ships so he could defy all common sense by using technology from the game world.

I never really got into that though and my notes are missing details because I never fleshed them out and forgot to go back to it so I doubt I could cleanly pick it back up unlike some others.

This chapter was an interesting one because it shows the author has done some baseline research into the UK but also not enough to be considered knowledgable.
I suppose it’s at the level of an anime fan knowing some trivia about Japan?

It’s quite interesting to read because of that.
I tried to point out some details here and there, the bit about the flag was actually slightly wrong in the original so I helped adjust it to be more accurate.

Then I realised the chapter number and almost had another one because the numbers didn’t match up!
Then I realised the commenter was a binge reader who was catching up…phew.

Crisis averted.
The adrenaline may now leave the system!

Brexit has become a joke.
The government are telling industries that have be harmed by the new legislation about exporting to the EU to just set up EU.
They’re literally telling industries to leave the country now!
How is that taking back control and enhancing our domestic market!
It’s total poppycock and I’m getting increasingly furiously each time I read about the ridiculousness the government is spouting.

The referendum was dumb, it was a mistake to take it as law, there should have been a second, the delays were pointless and we’ve been screwed over by the people who knew better not putting the breaks on for the deluded masses.

I had a tiny smidge of optimism that maybe the impact would be mostly unnoticeable but…
Well I should have known better.

So today I learned that Dark Forest Theory isn’t some game theory or sociology concept but in fact the creation of a science fiction author from China.
Well it’s not too surprising, since I first read it in a Chinese web novel, where they probably poached the concept, but it came as a surprise.
Dark Forest Theory is actually rather interesting, if not bleak, and the exact opposite of all my hopes and aspirations for the future.

Well I doubt I’ll be able to see how things turn out anyway, so best of luck future generations.

I started watching The Grand Tour recently with my family.
Man is it hilarious.
I used to love this trio on Top Gear and I’m really glad that Grand Tour eventually worked out, it’s basically become a best of both worlds.
The first season is a bit iffy but when they start to just follow the challenge format that they did for Top Gear specials it’s a spectacle of joy.
Even though the staging is a little more obvious for some parts, the comedy is still top tier.
