In the week since we last spoke many things have happened.
Namely I started playing Final Fantasy XIV again, well for the first time properly technically.
I mean I played until Level 14 some years back but that hardly counts!
I think I managed to get into it way better this time. And for whatever reason I don’t dislike it as much.
Maybe improvements? Maybe picking a better class? Maybe having friends to urge me on?
Whatever the case, it’s not a bad game.
Now I just need to find a dragon girl waifu. And an imouto.

I forgot I bought it months ago, but I noticed it on my kindle and started reading it.
World’s Strongest Rearguard isn’t actually that bad. It’s pretty well edited and written.
You can tell it’s adapted from a web novel directly rather than written for Light Novel but I’ve been enjoying it.
I should also read my Otome Games Is Tough For Mobs physical copy that arrived recently too.
So much to read and play and so little time.

I’ve spent 80 hours the past week playing Stellaris so I’m out of the loop.
But what are all these memes about a boat?
Also why is there BL fanfic about it?!
Is this what KanColle and Azur Lane were building up to all along?!
Why am I in this timeline?! Someone let me off! I want to switch tracks!

It’s the legendary Chapter 69!
Honestly this chapter was a nightmare to publish.
I couldn’t work out how to handle the in game update text for ages!
If I left it as text it looked messy, but if I put it in a table it didn’t look like part of the chapter.
It was really awkward and in the end I settled for the table cause I put so much effort into it.
Well some effort.

My friend got me to watch Half Life VR but the AI is Self Aware.
And I’ve been dying since I started watching it.
Holy, this is comedy gold.
It’s a bit too random for my exact preferences, but that’s just because I like plots.
If it had been a little more strict with its premise it’d have probably lost quite a bit of its spontaneous heart though…
It’s hard to make a judgement if it’d had been better.
Looking forward to the sequel.

I ended up caving and preordering Evil Genius II.
I didn’t want to! I really didn’t!
Then I saw the preorder bonus gave a stat bonus and thought.
CURSE YOU FOR ADDING A NONCOSMETIC ITEM! NOW I HAVE FOMO!
So I bought it.
Yup I’m that much of a pushover. Though I do have principles and bottom lines. Looking at you Epic!

It’s here! The little sister POV!
Hurrah!
You do not understand how excited I am!
Also I’m aware of the discrepancy between the two chapters over whether she is blood related or not.
I can’t tell if the author was the one who screwed up or our translator.
So I’m just going to pretend I never saw the mistake because what sort of editor actually edits?
Also there was a lot of confusing stuff in this chapter in that regards but I can confirm he’s adopted.

This chapter was a good chapter.
I won’t distract you with a ramble this time.
Just go read it.

For some reason last night I found myself reading some more of Arifureta After.
It’s been literally over a year since I touched that web novel.
I think it must have been around when the anime was airing?
Not sure why I read it. I must have been really starved for a read and none of my current favourites have updated in a while so I dragged up something that had a lot of unread chapters.
That’s the only reason I can think of.
Keep in mind I read it at like 4am on autopilot in bed.

I want to write a scifi story about androids again.
Probably similar to the apocalyptic one I abandoned months ago.
I spoke about it in some older prechapter rambles on the other novels I post.
But it was about a guy who’s consciousness gets entangled with a combat android from a war in the distant future, and then having to survive in the wastes of civilization with the remnants of humanity. Then eventually getting dragged into the still smouldering embers of that war. Eventually culminating in an epic battle with the future at stake! Something like Fallout meets Honkai Impact?

My internet connection has been shoddy most of this week. It worked fine for a really long period today though!
Then like clockwork at 11pm it just died again.
Which is really annoying since I usually schedule these chapters gone midnight so that the timezone difference is easier to calculate!
(If I schedule it at midnight I can set it to schedule “tomorrow” on site time even though it’s “today” in my time)

For some reason today I spent hours reading a bunch of korean webtoons.
I guess this is the natural progression of my desire to read more manga to fill the gaps while waiting for novel translations and such.
There are quite a few good webtoons, it’s funny how all the ones I stumbled on that I enjoyed all involved mmo style dungeon raids.
They’ve really made a subgenre for it.
I also started to catch up on a few novels I read that have had anime announcements, just to get back into the groove.
Also a few webnovels I dropped years ago got picked up again…so I might try to reread those…maybe?

I scheduled this chapter while writing down notes for something else and almost got myself completely turned around by copy and pasting the wrong things!
I’m sure you guys would much rather read the story than a bunch of notes regarding various literature genres for references.
For context, I’ve been dissecting some genres while working out what ones I have the most familiarity with regarding writing plots for RPG campaigns.
One of my friends wants to set up a multi-gm Torg Eternity campaign which each GM having their own faction as a focus.
I’m not all too certain what faction I might end up being in charge of if I decide to GM because the faction with the genre I’m best at isn’t an all too interesting faction (generic fantasy). While the faction I find most interesting has a genre I’m completely unfamiliar with by comparison (pulp fiction).

I should really have talked about the manga I was reading on this prechapter ramble rather than on one of the DSM rambles.
I mean given the name of the manga is Ariadne in the Blue Sky it just would have fit so much better.
Well, it’s not like I can change the past.
Also it gives me an excuse to talk about it again here which allows me to save a ramble topic for a time where I run out of ideas!
Somethings my genius is… it’s almost frightening.
