So for my ramble this time I wasn’t sure what topic to pick at first.
So I’m going to talk about the fact I have been burning money on new light novels again.
I finally managed to get the newest volumes of Worlds Fastest Level Up and Worlds Strongest Rearguard.
Funny how they both start with world!
Those two volumes have been long overdue and were good reads at least, I look forward to their continuation.
I bought Starfield the other day to prevent myself buying Baldurs Gate and Armored Core.
But then I second guessed myself after buying it.
I watched all the pre-release content again and I finally have confidence in my choice again.
My brain is weird, but that’s how it is.
Anyway, chapter time!
I have decided that I will be buying Starfield.
It took me a long time to work out which game I wanted from the three new releases but I settled on that.
The winning factor was the science and tech system.
Do I know what it is? No.
But I do love me some science!
I like technological progression and if I can do that then I will do so.
Baldurs Gate can come after. Or maybe Armored Core.
I saw a comment on a mod page today talking about how the modder wanted to rewrite the mod instead of keep adding patches to keep up with the game updates.
And someone in the comments underneath went “I took a look at the code and anyone can see why you’d choose to do that”.
And it sort of made me laugh.
I get that it was meant to reaffirm the decision and support it even if it meant a delay.
But it also reads like an insult of “your code is awful.”
I wanted to do this in 4chan green text style mock post of like “be me” but it didn’t sound right.
I was going to complain about how I started editing early to go to sleep early.
But then because I started early I figured I had extra time and took more breaks than normal.
So now I’m even later than usual despite starting early!
I also lost my draft edit for this because of wordpress! So don’t expect comments on it because I was too tired.
I am currently suffering from an internal war.
There are four things I wish to purchase and I do not know which to go for.
The new Star Trek rulebook, Baldur’s Gate, Armored Core and Starfield…
I don’t have the finances for more than one! AND ALL ARE IMPORTANT.
Starfield and Armored Core are probably slightly lower priority (Not sure my PC won’t melt and not sure I’d be any good at it respectively.)
The Star Trek rulebook has no rush I suppose.
So Baldur’s Gate as a slight lead.
As I am doing this editing the only thing separating me from a giant wasp is a curtain around my window.
If this flying creature learns it can go round curtains I am doomed.
Also I am having to edit and write with one elbow against the wall to reduce the gaps in the curtain that it can escape from until it goes back out the window.
Apparently Fandom (the company) has sunk to a new low where they’re using AI generated answers to user questions now!
And of course, AI is dumb as rocks when it comes to actual knowledge for specific niche things, confidently incorrect and all that.
So on top of their ad ridden nightmare hole where information goes to die they’re doing that now.
Honestly it’s a miracle they lasted this long, but I am glad to see that the communities are start to abandon it en masse.
So there’s this kickstarter for an mmo-style anime fantasy roleplaying game that’s about half way through it’s run.
I’ll put a link at the bottom.
Anyway I’ve been reading up on it and I have to say there is some serious temptation for me to get it.
I knew about it early on, but wasn’t interested, but my interest has been building bit by bit.
And now I am convinced it’s like the perfect system for an Isekai campaign. Which is super tempting.
My Omnibus for A Certain Magical Index arrived.
The thing is HUGE.
It weighs a nightmare amount too. It’s like 15lb or something. I dunno my cooking scale capped out at 6kg and it kept going over, but it’s probably less than 7kg given the volumetric weight on the shipping label. Yes, I did some maths.
Anyway. It’s BIG. Like REALLY BIG.
And amazing. Man am I glad I got it.
I have no idea where I am going to keep it though… I will figure that out somehow.
