Editor for and Demon Sword Maiden!
Gentrified NEET and siscon.
Currently looking for an imouto. Applicants must be under the age of 16, cute and with long hair.
Optional traits are: Neko, princess and/or maid.
No footnotes this chapter.
It’s 5:30am and I forgot to edit and schedule so it was a mad scramble and then I forgot how to add footnotes and was too lazy to open my cheatsheet notepad document with all the fancy code shortcuts I could possibly need.
Well we’ll see how it goes I might add some if I remember tomorrow.
I finally bought Volume 2 and 3 of Magic User: Reborn in Another World as a Max Level Wizard.
Looking forward to reading that, the first one was pretty fun. Especially as someone who plays tabletop RPGs on weekends pretty often.
Amazon also suggested The Game Master has Logged In to Another World to me but I didn’t buy it.
One it was translated by Slow Press. And two, it has 11 ratings and NO reviews.
Man that must have been one hell of a flop novel!
On a spur of the moment decision I decided to buy Typical Nobody Volume 2.
Even though I found Volume 1 really bland and uninteresting when I read it months ago.
The only good thing about it was the cliffhang at the end, nice teaser and mystery that.
Well not that it matters it was cheap anyway.
Although I’ve been spending a lot lately when I’ve been meaning to save up a few more months for PC parts to do a complete overhaul at the end of the year.
I need to replace the motherboard, CPU and RAM in one go so it’s gonna be a pricey upgrade.
Well really I just want to upgrade the CPU but sadly that requires a new motherboard which then means I need to replace my RAM.
The last couple of days I’ve been watching a bunch of playthroughs of the google translate mods for Half Life.
It’s some serious stupidity but I love that level of dumb fun.
Also the people they brought on to do the voices are god tier, I’m seriously impressed.
They had a perfect blend of taking the lines seriously enough as if it was a real game, but also that level of confusion and satire to enhance the dumb nonsensical sentences they were handed.
I also love that someone had to go through every image file in the game and garble the text through the translator then repainted with the messed up output.
It’s here! The little sister POV!
Hurrah!
You do not understand how excited I am!
Also I’m aware of the discrepancy between the two chapters over whether she is blood related or not.
I can’t tell if the author was the one who screwed up or our translator.
So I’m just going to pretend I never saw the mistake because what sort of editor actually edits?
Also there was a lot of confusing stuff in this chapter in that regards but I can confirm he’s adopted.
I was once again drawn into reading ReZero.
The new arc had finally gotten started a bit so I thought I’d dive in to get to know what’s going on.
Honestly didn’t expect this turn of events.
All the previous arcs have been pretty clear cut between their start and their finish with a bit of downtime between (even if it’s only a matter of perspective and they are actually back to back) but this new arc felt like a direct continuation of the previous one. As a result I feel like it was a bit anticlimactic but maybe that’s just me?
The cathartic payoff didn’t seem to happen in my opinion.
It’s Mother’s Day today here in the UK.
I had to get reminded by my stepdad at the start of the week to realise it was coming.
I’m glad to know that they are starting to remember that I don’t remember dates and need reminding like this.
Thankfully due to the power of the internet I was able to order everything I needed with next day delivery.
Glad to see that modern convenience trumps all.
I started playing Stellaris again today.
Turns out one of the mods I use had been updated to the latest version a while back so I got back into it.
I forgot how slow start that mod is.
(The faction I choose has a bunch of bonuses of development in the mid and late game but starts a few paces behind in the early game)
I haven’t quite got far enough into the mod yet to see how it incorporates a bunch of the new features but I am very excited about it!
I ended up watching a bunch of videos analysing the BioShock franchise today for some reason.
A few years back at school I wrote a several page essay detailing why I considered video games to be a form of art citing BioShock as my example.
I did a proper analysis of it too, it was a long essay.
The essay scored a big fat 0 because games weren’t a valid form of art to analyse apparently.
This is why school sucks.
Literally with the way I had wrote the essay, if BioShock was a movie I bet I would have got the highest grade in the year.
This chapter was super interesting to read for various reasons.
I just wish I had had enough time to add some comments. I might come back to it once I’ve got Blue Sky scheduled also.
Rushing around makes everything a mess! I hope I haven’t screwed up something in my haste.
Normally when I schedule chapters wrong it’s because I’m rushing but pretend everything is normal so Silva doesn’t notice.
Don’t have time for a prechapter ramble today. My internet went down right as I was preparing to schedule and head to bed.
I then had a horrible night sleep for no reason whatsoever and woke up a little late.
So I am scrambling to post and edit this with like half an hour left.
Yay.
For some reason last night I found myself reading some more of Arifureta After.
It’s been literally over a year since I touched that web novel.
I think it must have been around when the anime was airing?
Not sure why I read it. I must have been really starved for a read and none of my current favourites have updated in a while so I dragged up something that had a lot of unread chapters.
That’s the only reason I can think of.
Keep in mind I read it at like 4am on autopilot in bed.
I scheduled this chapter while listen to Ibasho by Mori Calliope or Calliope Mori depending on which half of the compass you’re from.
That’s the mini song she released as part of the Hololive EN x Princess Connect Global launch collab.
It’s not a bad song, she sings pretty well.
But I’ve noticed recently that bilinguals have more jarring transitions between English and Japanese in songs.
I think it’s because they adjust their accent and pronunciation for the language, rather than carrying over their natives intonations?
Not sure how to explain it…there’s probably someone more musically and linguistically knowledgeable than me who knows the right words.
