In other news my newest volume of Trapped In A Dating Sim arrived.
Now I just need to wait for the next volume to arrive next month and I have official copies as far as I read the fan translation!
After that I’ll be reading new content at last. It’s been a long couple of years waiting for the official translation to catch up.
Although, I’m thinking of stopping buying the physicals.
They’re just annoyingly large and uncomfortable to hold when reading.
I don’t know why they printed them in this format.
I meant to schedule these chapters hours ago but I got stuck binge watching that anime about Miyuki from Godsuya’s series.
I’m sure you know what I mean.
Ah but today was tiring.
I was roleplaying Star Trek stuff on Stellaris and kept getting annoyed that Stellaris weapon logic goes opposite to Star Trek weapon logic.
So I had the bright idea of adding in the technologies for Star Trek style weapons repurposing existing assets and rejigging the stats.
It turned into a several hour nightmare to prevent the game crashing on launch.
And then it just turned out that Stellaris was just too rigid!
I mean…
They force you to use missile assets on torpedo type weapons! Even though there’s no logical reason why an energy ball can’t be the visual.
Well I mean I could still achieve the result if I went and dragged out the various graphical entities for the energy ball and made a copy as a missile type…
But that’s too much hard work for someone like me who’s any experience coding is just shuffling numbers around!
I got a random friend request on steam today.
I wonder why.
I checked their profile and the only reason I can imagine why is because of Stellaris.
I suppose I am technically listed as a contributor to a semi-popular mod on the workshop because I do the flavour text writing for the events and popups.
So I was supposed to be editing this but I ended up binging an isekai.
In my defence this time it was a good isekai.
It was about a magical doorway that opened in another world once a week to let guests come and eat food.
A ridiculous premise if you ask me.
I’m joking of course, I quite enjoyed it.
My only complaint was that it focused on food and I don’t care about food.
Would have been cool if there was some more plot to it, like the rare problem to resolve that required them teaming up or using a quick other world cheat.
Finding a job is a real pain.
Why do so many companies online write terrible descriptions of the jobs they want you to apply to?
“Apply for Generic Job Title A, we need a Generic Job Title worker to manage upcoming projects.”
Please explain to me what that entails!
Seriously!
Ah it’s so annoying.
I wish I could turn this into a full time job.
Maybe I should try writing something and opening a patreon haha.
I made a slight mistake today.
I ended up reading ahead last week and it completely killed my motivation to make comments when editing today.
Oops.
I’ll have to make sure that I leave comments as I read when I read ahead next time I do that.
Normally I try to keep myself from doing so in order to have fresh reactions as I edit.
Wow it’s super late here.
I got really distracted by stuff today.
That’s the last time I get stuck on an anime binge train.
I was just trying to clear some of the old seasonal stuff I never finished for whatever reason.
I ended up getting a few down. Only one of them was actually good though.
Oh the woes of a completionist.
The beta for the new Stellaris version just went live and it’s become… well a source of discord.
It is a very big change to some fundamental game mechanics, and people are torn on opinions.
I myself am withholding trying it out.
I have too many mods to test the new beta.
I’ll let them finesse the details the manual way.
I have high hopes though none-the-less.
The modding community of Jurassic World Evolution 2 have made a breakthrough.
Due to cutting edge advances in code cracking technology they have worked out the method to add species to the game!
That’s right!
They have made it possible to add original dinosaurs!
This is amazing news because it means I can finally get some unique dinosaurs that wouldn’t normally be considered.
I’m hoping for giant turtles, mutant hybrids and of course species from non Mesozoic eras.
I have a serious and distinct lack of web novels and related content to read.
I have somehow managed to completely catch up with everything.
Which means I need some suggestions.
Although I don’t know if I’ll get any good ones.
Hmmmmm since this is a pseudo-cultivation novel let’s keep the suggestions to pseudo-cultivation novels!
I’ll look for pure fantasy ones on the Re:Start rambles.
I had a couple of ideas for what to talk about this ramble but I scrapped them all last second because I wanted to talk about something else.
The first episode of Arifureta was a huge step up over the first season.
It’s still not amazing top tier anime, but it was so much better.
Although it did have to sort of act like the first episode of the first season was totally different.
I mean they skipped all the build up and the summoning process, so the scene with the Princess felt really forced.
Like the Princess just suddenly started caring about someone that we’ve not even seen her interact with in the anime version.
I almost died today choking on a biscuit.
It wasn’t even a large biscuit.
It was just a small piece of shortbread.
It was a very strange experience.
I’m exaggerating by the way, I didn’t even come close to dying.
But spending half an hour with a lump of biscuit in your throat is a very weird feeling.
Recently I have been reading cultivation web comics.
Or well…
Cultivation style stuff from Japan/Korea/China…
I’m not sure why this is a trend.
It’s annoying though because the quality is very…varied.
Some are awful.
And some have like 200 chapters but… literally nothing happens?
It’s so strange.
This chapter is called “Inside the Wolf’s Mouth”
And it just reminds me of that battle in Final Fantasy XIV with the Alliance Raid.
Where you have to stand in the shrinking acid to get eaten by the giant wolf to bust up its guts.
You know in various ways that’s a really disturbing fight…….
Watched the first episode of Princess Connect 2 today.
I think it was a good intro.
I liked the way they sort of tied in the pseudo-pvp dungeon system to the world without it being a massive meta break reference.
Although it was a bit strange in many ways regardless.
