I’ve been reading a lot of Light Novels again lately.
Lazy Dungeon Master, Realist Hero, Reborn as a Typical Nobody.
I still have a backlog of Der Werwolf, Altina and Ms Elf.
Altina is a super high priority since I need to do my long overdue Volume 3 review.
Typical Nobody was…a let down to say the least. Almost abysmal.
It was like reading a poorly made web novel just printed onto paper.
Even the waifu bait game was weak.
So my request today is to suggest me some strong waifu bait light novels!
For some reason recently I’ve found myself watching Kerbal Space Program videos.
Honestly that game is really cool in concept but I never managed to have any fun with it when I played it.
I think it’s just too technical for me.
That type of game would appeal to me for it’s fantastical elements, building a space station, setting up colonies and breaking new ground.
But KSP at its heart is a simulator rather than a narrative driver.
Which is why I like these youtube series where people set up a self contained narrative with their own ministories.
Though I have yet to find a series that goes all in on the narrative aspect.
So I’ve been scheduling these posts for a while now.
And every time I organise the chapter order I scroll to the bottom of the “Demon Sword Maiden” dropdown.
But this means scrolling over 150 chapters now and it’s a real pain.
I really need to remember the method to search for a specific page instead of a their parent page.
But I’m too lazy to search.
Anyway these two chapters were hell to edit and I’m really not satisfied with my results but if I spend any longer on them I might go insane.
Remember the chibi art I commissioned for Demon Sword Maiden a while back? That’s right, I’ve made them into keychains and was thinking of holding a giveaway event soon after I delivered the first batch to the editors and patrons, but due to “unforeseen circumstances”, the keychains are still being held at the post station and not yet dispatched. It is unfortunate, but I believe we will have to delay the giveaway event until further notice.
Meanwhile, you may want to like and follow our Facebook or Twitter page! The rule of the giveaway event is pretty simple, you just gotta like our posts on the social media page and share (or retweet) them to the “Public”. Then, from there, we will randomly select a few winners to receive the prize. While the event has been delayed, it never hurts to start interacting with our social media page early, if you get that “top fan” badge on Facebook, you are more likely to get noticed and be selected to receive the prize.
The previous few chapters were translated by an applicant translator and we’re back to Snoring Dragon now.
In the future we’re going to be switching translator to Immortal Dreamer, who is significantly more familiar with Japanese than any of the Chinese translators we’ve had so far, so there will be a lot of term shifts as we realise that things are references to existing Japanese terms.
Stuff like Kengo will also be changing, so please hold on while I work out a full list of the terms that will be changing in the future and adjust accordingly.
Until now the termsheet has been pretty static, but hopefully this will improve the readability.
As an extension of this news I can expect my editing to be smoother too, so I will probably start making more joke comments on the chapters.
Patreons can also be happy to know that new chapters will now be added to the folders too since we have a translator on board.
As you folks should remember from yesterday, we left our degenerate protagonist in a bit of a heated moment.
Well too bad you don’t get to read all about it! We’re skipping straight to the aftermath!
Evil laughter.
However if you donate to my gacha funds (you can find my paypal here) the Patreon then I might be persuaded to write a patreon exclusive 18+ chapter.
I am super tired today! I was up until 6am before I finally fell asleep!
Then I woke up at 9am for a bit! Then woke up at 12am again!
My sleep keeps getting interrupted!!!
I wish I could just sleep through anything like a log.
We have a new art candidate in this chapter!
What do you guys think?
Make sure to donate to the patreon if you want to see more high quality art work!
On another note, have you guys checked out the new novels here?
Not only do we have Hero’s Redo as an example, but we also have an Original here now!
This is like a slap in my face to make me resume my originals that I keep delaying isn’t it?
Here we are! Volume 2!
And it’s off to a very interesting start!
It’s a bit unexpected but apparently this author does have a bit of talent in writing….cough cough.
Sorry that was a bit harsh. Not everyone can match my quality of standard.
Standard of quality?
Quandard of Stanlity?
Quite frankly things are heating up! We’ve reached the climax of Railgun’s Daihasei Arc, the evil plan has unfolded, the sides are set and the stakes are high!
Can Academy City be saved!
Well we all know it will because Index II and Index III take place after Railgun S……..cough
But the real fun is the impromptu teamup of Sogiita Gunha and Touma!
That’s right the Seventh Level 5 and our Level 0 hero have formed a tag team for this fight and the chemistry is great! Gunha is a very 90’s style shounen protagonist, whereas Touma with his origin in 2004 is very much the epitome of 2000’s style protagonists.
Having them side by side really shows how things have changed even though it’s been fifteen years since then!
Of course we all know the 2010’s style protagonists are your OP lone wolf types.
So before I went to bed I knew exactly what I wanted to talk about today, but then I had a bad nights sleep and I have totally forgotten!
I had some weird dreams though, part of the reason I didn’t want to wake up and ended up being later than usual today!
Anyway, I hope you’re all checking out the new anime this season.
Bakarina (Destruction Flag Otome) is one of the best adaptations of a favourite novel of mine so far. The OP is insanely fun.
Bookworm and Kaguya return for a second season and Railgun is still ongoing.
So I got sent a new assignment as part of my proofreading work, but this time I got sent an epub!
It’s my first time working with a finished product like this so I’m a bit worried.
Also epubs are written in html which makes them really annoying to read for editing.
I mean the font is either horrible or you have to use visual mode and then things get screwed up when you make edits.
The only real option is switching views but that’s awkward in its own way.
Well I’ll figure something out!
But it’s scary to think I’m looking for errors in a book that will be going to stores soon!
If you pick up a copy and see a typo then I have failed my job!
How terrifying!!!
