I started doing this editing early to, you know, finish early.
I got distracted watching videos on train wrecks, metaphorical train wrecks.
No literal ones.
This one I’m watching right now is explaining the mess of High Guardian Spice to people not in the animesphere.
It’s pretty funny, the editing is on point.
Anyway that’s enough of this ramble.
I’m finally giving my bank some time to recover.
I’ve sworn to hold off getting anything until at least after Christmas.
Also this week I get the results for my job application back.
Oh I really hope they don’t reject me.
But then again I would be surprised if they didn’t.
Picking up where we left off last week, our damsel has been given unfettered access to a treasure trove of shinies!
Just how long will her self control last when exposed to such priceless loot?
Find out in todays chapters of our Maiden’s adventure.
No but seriously, it’s really obvious what’s going to happen isn’t it?
I don’t even need to start editing the next two chapters to predict this.
I had a few ideas for what to write for this ramble but then couldn’t really get into the vibe for any of them.
I mean their were interesting things I could talk about like the news, gaming stuff, anime I’m watching and so forth.
For example I watched Star Trek Prodigy recently, and also The Daily Life of the Immortal King.
I also started reading some new Light Novels.
There’s the Activision Blizzard situation.
And that barely scratches the surface.
But nothing feels right. Oh well.
Actually.
I have a test for a job tomorrow. Or today as you’re reading this.
Wish me luck.
I haven’t had a chance to play with the aquatics yet but I am playing against them in a way.
My friends opted for a multiplayer game so we’re all diving into that headfirst as a trio.
One of them is playing aquatics, but man…
They got their planet size to 30.
For reference, the usual maximum for a habitable planet is 25.
So this size 30 planet looks FRICKIN HUGE!
Like it’s so big!
AND IT CAN GET BIGGER?!?!
Seriously this Aquatics DLC is nuts. I wonder if there’s a genuine cap on the planet size.
The new Stellaris DLC releases tomorrow, or today for you people reading this.
Actually it might even be out now.
I plan to buy it obviously. Even though I can barely afford it.
I also need to work on the mod list for my roleplay playthrough.
There’s some mod conflicts in the ones I wanted to use.
I might just bite the bullet and play with the conflicts causing some weird issues.
They’re on minor, so it won’t effect the lore. But it’s a nuisance either way.
That means you’ve read 100 chapters 5 times!
Or 10 chapters 50 times!
Maf!
But seriously, thank you so much to everyone that’s stuck around this long and are still reading.
It feels like it’s been forever since I took over as the editor for this, we’ve changed translators back and forth several times.
Had good arcs and bad arcs.
I’ve missed a couple of scheduling but generally been flawless, as expected of someone at my level.
I hope you continue reading for the next…
Large number of chapters. Look it’ a Chinese novel what were you expecting?
What an insane number.
So I’m thinking of writing a proper loody chapter to satisfy your intense desires.
Especially after that threat from last chapter!
Hmmmm but what should the topic be?
I have an idea but comment if you have anything specific you want included.
Don’t worry my definitely-not-canon-breaking excuses are capable of handling any scenario!
Did I ever announce we picked up a second translator for this?
Uh.
I can’t remember.
Anyway this chapter was translated by Yuki!
Yuki is helping fill in for the fact that we were basically murdering our previous translator through overwork.
Condolences for their lost sleep.
Hopefully things should be a bit more balanced now!
Translator rights are important and respected here!
I hope it’s not too different to read, I sort of entered a symbiotic state with the previous translator and it takes time to adjust to a new translators style.
I’ll try to edit them into a similar way but obviously it’s impossible to cut out the interpretations.
This happens every time a translator changes, so don’t see this as me insulting the new translator, it’s just a mindset thing.
So my Christmas art commission of my novels heroine is in progress and almost done.
The prompt I gave the artist was basically just “I want a slightly spicy piece of artwork with a Christmas theme” and I left the rest up to them.
At first it looked like it was going to be of her wrapped in ribbons like a present, but while drawing some extra parts for temporary twitch safety they hit upon an idea apparently and the entire premise of the illustration changed concept to bunny girl.
So now I have a Christmas bunny girl in the works.
Makes me wonder what I’m going to get for Easter now…
There’s so much to talk about this week I honestly don’t know here to start.
Well first things first lets report my progress for Arknights…
I suck at this game.
I’ve barely dented the story. Not once managed to beat one of the promotion material missions and got stuck in the story.
Basically this game just doesn’t fit the way I play games and I’m spinning my wheels hoping to somehow magically get strong enough to enjoy the story.
But in other gacha news.
Blue Archive is great, excitedly waiting for the girls I want to release.
AND
Eula rerun on Genshin soon!
HYPE!
I quit the game to avoid paying money to get her then regretted it and now I have a chance to spend money again!
I was hoping for more time to save up though because I only have a 50% chance right now.
Sigh.
Well my bank is ready as a failsafe.
Well today Jurassic World Evolution 2 releases.
Today that this posts I mean.
I’ll be playing it in like, exactly two hours from when this goes live.
On twitch of course.
Don’t come and watch me though.
Instead you should read every novel on this site. That’ll keep you busy.
I got distracted playing Arknights while scheduling this.
Originally I planned to just leave the auto running to get me money but…
Oh this game made the dumb design choice of locking the money quest behind a schedule?
SERIOUSLY?!
Why would EXP be always available but not money?!
ISN’T THAT BACKWARDS?!?!?!
Argh this game goes between good and downright awful.
So in this pre-chapter ramble for Re:Start I discussed maybe starting Arknights.
Well anyway, today I went through the effort of redownloading that emulator and dragging myself through the bios settings again because I upgraded my motherboard some months ago.
Did all the usual jazz.
And installed it.
The game is…
How to put it.
The story is serviceable, there are some weird holes in the lore of the world that are baffling but that is expected of anachronistic settings.
The gameplay however is a bit, it feels uneven.
Some levels feel really trivial and then others are like:
“Aha we lulled you into a false sense of security and now we’re going to screw you over unless you take time to level up even more characters.”
I’m going to keep going and hope that I just get into the swing of things, but when I know I’m having an off time with the tutorial content I don’t have much hope for the late game balance honestly.
It didn’t help that my first happy gacha moment was ruined by it being a dude. I got cockblocked.
