Is anyone else really annoyed by twitter’s new feed system.
The old style with the button was a little annoying, but at least it would remember when I set it to show latest.
Now it just defaults back to the algorithm feed every time I open twitter, and I have to switch it over.
It’s really annoying when I just want to check it every so often between other things instead of just leaving it open.
Also Wikipedia got a new layout.
It’s horrible. So much unused space. The only good thing it had was the content menu scrolling with you now.
But the rest is terrible.
I have been hard at work dissecting the rulebook for the Star Trek Adventures so I can run the RPG for my friends.
I have decided they will be using the Norway Class vessel USS Valkyria NCC-64947.
Naturally of course the 47 there is 42 adjusted for inflation.
Now I just need to continue learning what the rules actually mean, building my cheat sheets for reference, and then going back to the plot drawing board.
I have a few “episodes” of adventures in mind, but I need to pick one to really flesh out.
So I’m currently planning more of my Star Trek Adventures rpg campaign and I think I have settled on a ship class.
I am leaning towards the Norway Class currently. Though the Steamrunner is in a close second place.
I like the Norway Class for its appearance but the Steamrunner for its saucer separation ability.
I guess I could read the rules for Steamrunner separation and copy them over to the Norway.
Both of them are good ships that fit between the third rate Nova Class and the first rate Galaxy Class.
They’re like a sideways step from the Intrepid, not a flagship but not weak.
I just need a name for it now… I can’t use Thunderchild because that already exists in canon.
I could do USS Edelweiss perhaps, or USS Valkyria on that front? USS Chaldeas? USS Luxion?
I think I may have put myself in financial ruin without realising it.
A kickstarter just charged me for shipping, and I have two art commissions going after being on a waiting list.
Christmas of course, was just recently so I had to buy a bunch of presents.
Well the end result is I think I have just over half the money I need for this month, which is, concerning.
I can afford one of the comms and have some money left over, which might be enough to cover the other if the exchange rate plays nice.
Apparently there is a lawsuit going on about AI art.
I wonder if this will be as big a deal as people are making it out to be.
I don’t think so though, as long as the AI team side manage to accurately convey how AI really works instead of how fearmongerers claim it works.
I’m thinking of running the Star Trek Adventures tabletop rpg.
I think I will set it around the Lower Decks/Prodigy era, before Picard is set.
Mostly because I want to avoid the weird AI uprising stuff and the Borg becoming a Federation member.
Really weird writing choices personally.
I have some idea for a first mission and stuff.
The hardest part is choosing the hero ship honestly.
Part of me wants to go for the Nova class but those things are veeery underpowered.
I opened my Stellaris mod to update it six hours ago.
I have made, no progress. I literally, looked at the wiki.
And then just did other stuff with it still open.
This is true procrastination.
I hate number crunching though.
Eugh. I’ll try to get it out the way.
Is it just me or do the chapters lately feel longer than usual?
Maybe I’m just tired or maybe I’m just getting too used to the other novels I edit which are like half the length.
Sometimes I just feel I’m barely making a dent in editing the chapters, and that lack of progress keeps me from leaving the comments I usually make as I go.
Maybe I need to reconsider the method I do things?
I tried using ChatGPT to edit this chapter, just out of curiosity for the result.
It didn’t go well.
Partially because I shoved the entire chapter in at once with some vague instructions.
But also because the service flagged the chapter for violent and uh… inappropriate content.
Which to be fair I should have seen coming, so yeah.
Recently I’ve been spending my spare time browsing reddit, which is strange.
I’ve never done this before except for specific games never in general.
I wonder if this is because of my sudden free time spike.
None of my games are particularly appealing to me lately either, and youtube can get boring if you do it too much.
This season is absolutely stacked for anime.
I did a count I think I’m going to be watching somewhere between 20 and 25 anime in total.
It’s absolutely nuts.
I think this is the most anime I’ve been interested in watching in one season together.
That’s not even including the couple that are still ongoing from last season.
By the way if you want my totally non expert opinion the ChatGPT bot is absolutely amazing at breaking down job vacancy listings into keywords they use for you to optimise your application to their analysis algorithms.
Yes that’s right, use the bot to make yourself look pretty for their bot.
It’s actually quite fun to do as well because it feels like a battle of wits.
