I got distracted by someone who thinks that their opinions on aesthetics must be applied as law to all art direction in media.
AKA they wanted to give the robots, of a puzzle game, sex appeal.
Absolutely ridiculous.
Their further arguments showed they were completely detached from the games premise too.

Arguing about things like not being able to swim and them being robots etc.

Project Neural Cloud got the major anniversary update and story stuff…
I was enjoying it for a bit until…

I learned how the anniversary character skin bingo worked.
I thought it was just an exaggerated way of making the player do missions for rewards but it’s actually a trap.
The free rewards only get you enough for a tiny tiny tiny tiny tiny almost impossible chance of a jackpot.
The only way to get the skin is to pay money to remove all the junk rewards until you get to the skin.

Yeah…
It’s a glorified paid gacha.

Last time on AinCiel: The next day, our princesses went out to pick up their order made clothes. However, upon reaching the seamstress’ shop, they noticed something wrong and were ambushed as they entered inside. After quickly handling their attackers, knives flew from the darkness, bringing up some memories for our elder princess.
Now then, what will happen next? Is this going to be a PTSD flashback? How will they fare against the shadow-y assailants? And will Shusii be safely saved?

This chapter is titled Fimbulwinter.
This surprised me because it’s a much lesser known part of Ragnarok.
The Fimbulwinter is basically the prelude to Ragnarok, where three seasons of the year are filled with snow and ice.

If my memory serves me correctly that is.
It’s actually interesting because I don’t remember Fate Grand Order bringing this up despite Skadi and the Lostbelt related to her.
I only learnt this one from a book I read many many years ago.
I can only vaguely remember it from a book I read many years ago… I think it was called Odd and the Frost Giants?

Actually I haven’t played a Final Fantasy game other than XIV since my XIII replay years ago.

The original Half Life getting an update and going free reminded me of the hilarity that is Half Life But the AI Is Self Aware.
However what made me laugh more was the patch notes for the 25th anniversary update.

With entries such as:
•The entire UI has been reworked to scale at larger screen sizes. We built most of this stuff for 640×480 CRTs and apparently some of you have upgraded since then.
•Removed the now very unnecessary “Low video quality. Helps with slower video cards.” setting.
