I’ve been reading a web comic series recently and I think the author didn’t know how to pace it.
It spent like 30 chapters setting up the original premise, and then when it finally decided to expand beyond that it was done in chunks of about 10 chapters per arc.
I’d like to point this out, the first arc was three times as long as the rest of it! The first arc was also a THIRD of the entire comic series!
The pacing and development I was set up to expect was not what was delivered.
The ending felt like it came out of nowhere as well, guess they got bored of it?
Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.
I meant to do these chapters quickly so I could play a game but then a friend distracted me with some cool lore discussions.
I declare myself innocent!
It is not my fault! They targeted me clearly, your honour!
I am not at fault for being roped into their lore talk!
Anyway it’s been like two hours let’s finish this up.
Honestly I am not sure what to write for these rambles today and I have to do four of them!
Well, I can knock out one at least.
I had to run Dungeons and Dragons again for the group of teens again.
This time with no parents at the table to help corral them.
I managed to extend a simple task long enough to be the session though, so I didn’t have to handle anything complex.
I finished the application for a job today.
They made me do a maths test with about 10 or so questions.
Really complicated maths questions… like unnecessarily complex questions.
Apparently I scored better than 76% of test takers.
Whatever that means…
Anyway, let’s hope that my apparently decent score is good enough to make up for my probably lacking work history.
