Originally I was going to use this prechapter ramble to talk about my impressions of Realist Hero’s latest episode.
Instead I’m going to follow up on my previous ramble about worldbuilding and art.
I finally settled on what piece of art I will commission next.
Although if I can grab a slot with the artist is up to chance, so we shall see!
But I’m thinking of going with Eleanor (the heroine) in a ball gown type formal dress.
We’ve brainstormed ideas and I have a pretty solid vision of her style, so I think it will turn out well.
The original plan was to get the main protagonist done, but he can wait.
Do you ever just do research for a novel you’re working on and just… get lost in the aether?
First I wanted to use alchemy symbols for the magic but realised alchemy went out of fashion before a lot of the scientific concepts my magic uses were invented, so I’d have to invent old style alchemy symbols to fill the gaps in scientific development! I’d literally be reinventing the periodic table!
Then I was looking at submarine concepts on how the design of the magical submarine would work and ended up on some scifi royal navy concept vessel that used zero point energy.
Crazy!
I need to stop worldbuilding and eventually write one day.

I got reminded of the wonders of British television today.
Such creations as:
Merlin.
Leonardo.
Atlantis.
I wish Atlantis had a bit longer to find its footing, it would have been a worthy successor to Merlin I think.
Well no point wondering about what ifs.
Sometimes things just don’t work.
So I commissioned some art of my novels character.
And it’s almost done. In fact maybe when this goes live it will be done.
Or maybe it won’t be.
It is however just a matter of days before completion!

Realist Hero started airing today.
Overall the anime seems a pretty strong adaptation so far and a decent introduction. First episodes can be hit and miss though so I won’t judge it yet.
I did have two nitpicks.
The first is Liscia’s introduction is changed, in the novels and manga the room is more busy and it takes a while for them to introduce themselves.
The second is that the final line of the episode is different, likely do to the translator, but originally it was closer to “you can’t fill an empty stomach with patriotism”.
Anyway, nothing bad about it. Actually on the plus side Roroa is cuter in fact.
So since this is a game about MMOs let us talk about MMOs!
Asmongold, a big time WoWhead started playing Final Fantasy XIV today.
I watched the entire stream.
It was incredibly frustrating at times but that happens when you have over 100,000 backseaters.
It peaked at over 200,000 and apparently he got like 5000 new subscribers in that one stream.
Man playing a rival game is like the best of both worlds, you get two fanbases checking in.
So this chapter originally translated Edinburgh as Edenborough.
I was considering leaving it as is because this is a fictional setting, but after checking on all the other names which are 1:1 to their real world counterparts I corrected this five minutes before scheduling.
If a couple of Edens slipped by in previous or future chapters please shout, but I’ll do my best to avoid that.
Now enjoy the chapter, also I should probably check the previous quickly.

I bought a feather duster the other day to try and deal with my recurring spider problem lately.
My parents think I have become enamoured with it.
I mean it’s cool!
It’s suuuuper fluffy. And the handle extends so far that it is actually taller than me!
This chapter hasn’t been translation checked or had the first phase of editing by Silva done, so RIP me.
I’ve done my best to tidy it up but there are a few things that probably got missed or I just didn’t have the chance to clarify.
This is the first time we’ve had this issue but it’s probably because dates and times for chapters have been shuffled around.
Hopefully this chapter doesn’t stand out as bad among the others.
Genshin is fun.
I played with someone who had almost every five star in the game today and suddenly felt like I should stop playing again. I saw a vision of a potential reality where I didn’t go on hiatus.
Especially when I realised I almost started to set aside money ready for Eula’s rerun ALREADY.
I’m so glad I didn’t cave back when Eula’s banner was running and start playing again. Had I not waited until after that banner I for sure would have spent too much.
Also Jurassic World Evolution 2 got announced.
It looks like they’ve learned from the first game, and this one will be more cutomisable. This is good. I like being able to customise my dinosaur exhibits!
Also, side related.
My friend is trying to lure me back into Genshin after I barely escaped last time! It’s a curse!
I’ll end up spending on the gacha again!
I want to commission art for my novel heroine again.
I barely managed to avoid the expense last time via coincidence.
But now the urge has returned.
I really want to see art of the heroine okay!
Maybe I should actually properly write that novel rather than leaving it half started.
It would mean once again scrapping the starting concept but…
Writing is so tiresome despite how it appears.
Realist Hero got a new trailer.
I’m glad they’re using the J-Novel translated title for the subtitle rather than the Engrish one that it started with.
I’m a little let down though.
The trailer looks really generic. Minimal movement. Bland clean art style.
I hope this is just because it’s a pv, but you should show off your best scenes!

Currently there is some random hip dude pretending to jam out and dj to music he has clearly not heard because it’s prerecorded.
Also chat is spamming the script to one of the ads they’ve played multiple times.

Actually I sponsored two cosplayers but that’s not the point.
Also still trying to get this cosplayer to cosplay Lily from Demon Sword Maiden but finding a yukata of the right style is hard!
