What a terrifying force of power it is. Truly no escape.
Anyway, today I was hardcore carrying him as he explored Dragonspine for some exp to continue the story.

It’s hard to judge how much help to give someone.
On one hand you don’t want to flood them with information of varied levels of usefulness.
But on the other hand you don’t want them to have to learn things the long way and have to make up for lost time.

I watched the Sword Art Online movie finally today.
Having read the Progressive novel I thought I knew roughly what to expect, but it was different in a lot of ways.
I had to laugh when they pawned off a lot of Kirito’s early dialogue on the movie original new girl.
Overall I think it worked well, but it also held a couple of problems I didn’t expect as a result.

I wonder how they’re going to carry that new girl going forward.

There’s a lot of anime this season to discuss so let’s talk about the recent ones that I took interest in.
The first is Lycoris Recoil, wasn’t sure entirely what to expect but so far it’s been really well written and was quite exciting! The duo dynamic is well established too, I like it.
Prima Doll was a massive let down though, the first episode was shaky at best, there’s no real hook and the characters are rather undeveloped and bland at the moment.
Engage Kiss has no right to be as good as it is, skilfully walking the fine line between parody and serious, overall I am very impressed.
And of course as a reader of the Light Novel I had to give Black Summoner a shot and I think they’ve done a good job at capturing Kelvin’s uniqueness in the genre, hopefully it holds up, I liked the teaser for the future party members too, although they didn’t show Rion yet. Hiding her I suppose.

Well I’m going to be providing a guided tour for my parents and a family friend tomorrow.
For reasons unknown to me they spontaneously decided to go to comicon in London this Sunday.
Naturally as the resident otaku they have roped me in to being their support.

Seriously I’m not sure why I have been pulled into this but whatever.
I got free tickets out of it.
Although I’m not sure if that’s a blessing given all the memorabilia I might end up buying.

So the copy of Otome Mob I preordered last year finally shipped this month and then the day it was meant to be delivered?
Well apparently it got damaged. So they’re refunding me. But that’s not the worst part.
They’re refunding me what it cost me to order it… which is less than it will cost me to order a replacement!
At this point I would have preferred a probably mildly bent copy instead of having to reorder.

To console myself I bought the first two copies of Magical Explorer after repeatedly pondering if I wanted to get the physicals or not because Amazon finds them to risqqqqueeee- for their puritan kindle store.
I had a lot of fun rereading them with art. Looking forward to Volume 3 since that’s where I last read up to in the web novel version.

I guess we should talk about anime for this pre-chapter ramble.
No real reason why.

So yesterday I watched the premiere of the RWBY anime.
I have mostly mixed feelings honestly, not leaning one way or the other.
Pacing was a tiny bit rushed, I’m glad they chopped a lot of the filler though. Felt like JNPR needed more time to develop that life trusting bond though.
Being canon-adjacent has me curious though, looking forward to seeing the rest of the show starting next month.

I promised my friend to watch Love Live too. Should get on that.
