Well it looks like I’m medically clear of COVID once again.
Hurray! I didn’t die twice!
Annoyingly though I have this leftover cough type thing.
Where it’s like my body thinks I’m still sick.
It’s really annoying, and probably will make people doubt that I’m clear of COVID again.
I am so tired it’s unreal.
I might do this tomorrow.
Yeah.
I’m gonna go back and edit the previous chapters ramble to be less about my job and more about apologising for when I inevitably forget to these chapters when I wake up.
Sorry everyone! This might post a little late because I didn’t have time to do it on my normal day!
Well you see the thing is I kind of got a job…
And uh…
Well it’s a good job but on my first day (yesterday for this post) I had to walk between three different buildings and well it was tiring.
So I sort of collapsed and only partially did the editing for this to finish tomorrow (today of post) and left the scheduling time blank so it will manually post when I remember to do it.
I probably forgot to be honest, so I’m sorry it’s late.
In retrospective hindsight I should have done this announcement on the previous pre-chapter ramble. My apologies to everyone.
But good news!
Some absolutely crazy person (I love you random netizen!) has decided to drop a massive sponsorship bomb for this series!
In the future, for one month only, you can expect DOUBLE chapters for the whole month!
I’ll let you know again when that time arrives.
It would have been this month but our poor translator needs time, can’t overwork them. They have lives you know.
I finished the No Man’s Sky Expedition!
Woohoooo!
It actually only took me two days playing, which apparently was absurdly fast as far as the past expeditions went. Glad that went well.
I had one hell of a time looking for the final 5 items to finish the events though.
It wasn’t even the “final” five items.
I just… couldn’t find any even though it was a quest in the middle of the event until I had finished every other quest!
It was insane.
Wasn’t sure what to dedicate this ramble too.
In hindsight I shouldn’t have wasted the previous one.
On one hand I want to discuss the latest updates to No Man’s Sky, but on the other hand I want to discuss Realist Hero.
I mean Realist Hero both has an ongoing anime and the new volume just started translation which is super hype because it’s another war!
Though the two year timeskip took me by surprise.
But No Man’s Sky has added some really interesting companion stuff, you can have your own little robot follower and then a full on autonomous mech guard.
Someone in the comments doesn’t appreciate my commentary on Maiden apparently.
Unfortunately for them they’re not even halfway through the available chapters, so they’ll have to put up with me for a long time to come.
Literally, their last comment was in Volume 2, for those that aren’t reading Maiden (the other thing I edit for) we’re currently in the midst of Volume 5.
Of course, this is a Chinese novel, so volumes are more like… blocks of hundreds of chapters.
Somewhere in the world it is now Valentine’s Day.
Are you all excited?
Are you all loners?
Have you bought yourself some consolation chocolates?
I’m currently editing these chapters while listening to the ost for Endwalker.
I think Flow is playing right now, it’s hard to tell because they all use the same motifs.
Anyway, moving on, not really sure if these two halves of this ramble fit together but oh well.
Maybe the Endwalker OST is strangely fitting for Valentine’s?
My stellaris mod on the workshop has now reached a grand total of 22 new technologies.
Not a stunning amount but I’m quite proud at my first attempt after a week of just reverse-engineering existing code. So far there’s only been one problem I couldn’t directly solve and had to settle for a substitute with.
The total is 11 weapons, 6 techs, 2 components, 1 army, 1 building and 1 brand new feature.
I was considering adding another version of that extra feature, but since I couldn’t get it to do exactly what I wanted the other version would be a bit too overpowered.
The idea was so that if you had a ship in orbit it’d give modifiers to the planet below, but I couldn’t get it to remove the modifier when the ship left orbit. So I had to stick it on a timer.
However that would nullify the decision making of “is it worth leaving a ship in orbit” if all you had to do was put it on a patrol route of all your planets to trigger the timed modifier repeatedly on all of them.
So today I realised I actually have three artists drawing for me simultaneously right now.
My wallet must be crying.
Here’s the breakdown:
The first artist I ever commissioned is doing a meme sketch for me from an old art trend.
My second regular artist of choice is drawing my character using magic for the first time.
And the third artist is a friend of mine who drew me a valentine themed piece when I realised what month it was and the fact I hadn’t thought of it while commission the previous two people…
In other news my newest volume of Trapped In A Dating Sim arrived.
Now I just need to wait for the next volume to arrive next month and I have official copies as far as I read the fan translation!
After that I’ll be reading new content at last. It’s been a long couple of years waiting for the official translation to catch up.
Although, I’m thinking of stopping buying the physicals.
They’re just annoyingly large and uncomfortable to hold when reading.
I don’t know why they printed them in this format.
I meant to schedule these chapters hours ago but I got stuck binge watching that anime about Miyuki from Godsuya’s series.
I’m sure you know what I mean.
Ah but today was tiring.
I was roleplaying Star Trek stuff on Stellaris and kept getting annoyed that Stellaris weapon logic goes opposite to Star Trek weapon logic.
So I had the bright idea of adding in the technologies for Star Trek style weapons repurposing existing assets and rejigging the stats.
It turned into a several hour nightmare to prevent the game crashing on launch.
And then it just turned out that Stellaris was just too rigid!
I mean…
They force you to use missile assets on torpedo type weapons! Even though there’s no logical reason why an energy ball can’t be the visual.
Well I mean I could still achieve the result if I went and dragged out the various graphical entities for the energy ball and made a copy as a missile type…
But that’s too much hard work for someone like me who’s any experience coding is just shuffling numbers around!
