I started playing Stellaris again today.
Turns out one of the mods I use had been updated to the latest version a while back so I got back into it.
I forgot how slow start that mod is.
(The faction I choose has a bunch of bonuses of development in the mid and late game but starts a few paces behind in the early game)
I haven’t quite got far enough into the mod yet to see how it incorporates a bunch of the new features but I am very excited about it!
I ended up watching a bunch of videos analysing the BioShock franchise today for some reason.
A few years back at school I wrote a several page essay detailing why I considered video games to be a form of art citing BioShock as my example.
I did a proper analysis of it too, it was a long essay.
The essay scored a big fat 0 because games weren’t a valid form of art to analyse apparently.
This is why school sucks.
Literally with the way I had wrote the essay, if BioShock was a movie I bet I would have got the highest grade in the year.
This chapter was super interesting to read for various reasons.
I just wish I had had enough time to add some comments. I might come back to it once I’ve got Blue Sky scheduled also.
Rushing around makes everything a mess! I hope I haven’t screwed up something in my haste.
Normally when I schedule chapters wrong it’s because I’m rushing but pretend everything is normal so Silva doesn’t notice.
Don’t have time for a prechapter ramble today. My internet went down right as I was preparing to schedule and head to bed.
I then had a horrible night sleep for no reason whatsoever and woke up a little late.
So I am scrambling to post and edit this with like half an hour left.
Yay.
I was meant to be scheduling this chapter and got distracted by a bunch of iron man youtube videos for some reason.
Don’t know why the algorithm threw those at me.
Well whatever the reason, it worked. I ended up watching them.
I mean technology is cool!
Maybe I should write a novel of something like “In Another World With My Iron Man Suit”
I think that’d be pretty fun.
Perhaps “I Reincarnated As A Warforged”
Apparently ReZero is getting a new gacha game or something.
I think it was by the folks who did KanColle?
I can’t remember exactly since I could only go off the Japanese youtube trailer.
Ah speaking of ReZero, that reminds me I still need to buy that VN they released for it!
Honestly ReZero is a story that’s a perfect format for VNs, since whenever you die it can send you back to a checkpoint and you can make different choices. And based on what choices you’ve previously made, new choices can unlock! And by piling up choices upon choices you can reach an ending!
While I was scheduling this chapter it came to my attention that I had not in fact read or edited the previous chapter.
So I have read these last two chapters backwards while preparing these.
Was a weird experience.
A lot of stories lately seem to be falling into a trap of chronology though.
Lots of them seem to just strictly follow a chronological format… or they jump around to be kind of ‘stylish’ and it ends up just being confusing.
Sigh, there’s nothing like the Greek classics anymore.
I spent most of today plowing through various mangas to see if there were any interesting ones to read.
Honestly though mangadex has been awful to use lately.
So many crashes and failures to load.
The alternatives aren’t much better since batato or whatever it was called went byebye too.
Kind of sad really.
I miss the golden days of pirates!

I just realised that I missed the J-Novel announcement stream.
Tsk now I will just have to wait until tomorrow most likely to see the tweet responses about what they have licensed.
Oh well, that’s a bit of a shame.
Well I guess it saves the surprise? I wonder if anything nice got licensed…
J-Novel tend to get relatively good isekais so I have hope!

While scheduling this I somehow managed to get lost in watching a three hour long video on Pokemon Sword and Shield.
Look, just don’t ask.
Someone linked it in discord, I started watching it. Twenty minutes in I realised it was three hours long.
Decided to cut my losses and watch the whole thing. Surprisingly didn’t even realise the first hour go by!
After that hour though I became very aware of how delayed my scheduling was getting so I became more conscious of the time.

I started reading two today but one of them turned into some weird bdsm fantasy and I dropped that one immediately and the other have really chibi art that wasn’t cute at all so I dropped that also!

So another isekai light novel got an anime announcement.
This time it’s that assassin one.
That assassin one isn’t too bad actually…it jumps around a bit too much though in my opinion.
Well I did really like the mage girl in that story though…like a lot!
Also the way it plays with the skills being common sense wasn’t bad.
More excited for Banished From The Heros Party though for the skill treatment.
Some dude named Zack Snyder or something is making “a faithful retelling of King Arthur’s tale” or something.
Honestly that has to be a joke right?
Faithful retelling? How?
Someone please direct me to the definitive edition of The Legend of King Arthur.
Honestly there’s so many contradictory versions thanks to Celtic and Christian and French influences.
Wait if it’s a faithful retelling do you think it’ll be a Fate movie?
