I actually have to recommend To Be Hero X.
The bizarre combination of Chinese and Japanese content is kind of surreal, but this show has some serious personality to it just from the two episodes currently out, and the production quality is really there. I know the director and writer have a good history, but I am glad the budget supports it this time too.
Especially since it makes proper use of its own concepts straight away, the idea that hero powers are a product of public trust in an individual is more than just a gimmick!
Even the protagonist (or current protagonist, I am assuming this will turn into a series of interconnected stories with an ensemble cast later) starts off in the advertising business just to place emphasis that public image is king in the hero business.

I watched that Brink of Ruin anime about magic, just because I also watched Magic Maker recently…
Wow, that was an experience. It definitely felt like someone’s first web novel, the sense of progression was completely off, and characters dropped in and out without being really developed.
Well, it could have been worse, I kind of liked some of the magic aspects at least, the concept of a city-wide grimoire was cool too.
I’d give it a 5/10 I think, I wouldn’t call it “bad” but it definitely wasn’t really worth watching. I’ve seen worse. Maybe a 4/10 or lower if it wasn’t something I personally enjoyed.

But it was definitely not what I got.
The tonal whiplash and narrative dissonance in that anime is on the next level. Definitely the product of an amateur author.
It’s bouncing between the most horrific pant-by-trope dungeon content and teetee flirting scenes.
It can’t decide what it wants to be.
You will literally go from seeing a man get I Must Screamed to flirting newlyweds in the same episode.
Absolutely wild.

I just watched the trailer for I’m the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire.
I am hoping this sticks the landing as an anime.
Overall I liked the authors work on Otome Mob a lot more than Evil Lord, despite the concept of the scifi setting be much more appealing, so if the anime manages to make the comedy aspects of Evil Lord carry the show then I will be pleased.
I will enjoy it either way, unless it’s really bad, but I just hope I can enjoy it more.
