I have been helping a friend work on a mecha worldbuilding project.
It’s quite entertaining.
The concept is that the divines have been instilled into mechanised exosuits, so all of the mechs have to have vague allegories to specific gods etc.
It’s hard to make them feel equal though at times.
A friend randomly sent me a DM while I was working on this saying:
“Somebody gave me truffle flavored potato chips”
and
“There was also a seaweed flavored one”
What a bizzare concept… the world is truly a mysterious place.
The time in which we live is full of novel insanity at every turn.
Whenever I see the translator for the chapter listed as Keissen I end up thinking of Kekkai Sensen.
I may have rambled about this before, but I find it a really interesting case study in anime adaptation.
That’s because the first season is more popular with anime original watchers, since it ties itself to an original bigger narrative. While the second season is more popular with the manga readers, since it more closely follows the mangas eclectic shorter narratives.
The result is that half of its audience are dissatisfied with anime, it’s just a case of which.
Well, okay fair there are fans of all of the above, those exist too.
My hair is starting to reach the stage where the fringe is starting to overhang my glasses instead of just resting on top of them…
This means I will need to go and get it cut properly soon.
That requires an investment of effort on my behalf, woe is my life…
I’d have to wake up at reasonable hours, walk into town, sit and wait, then interact with humans, then exchange currency… the bane of an insomniac NEET.
I finally finished the Dawntrail base MSQ.
It uh, took a while.
I spent maybe 7 hours in total trying to get into the Sphene boss battle trial?
I understand why it was unpopular… I died… a lot in that fight.
Also… the hype deflated super quickly… like really fast… that final phase was just… yeah.
I have an interview tomorrow.
Hopefully it goes well.
There’s just one problem…
It’s so early in the morning that I actually have to wake up to get the bus… at the time I usually get into bed…
Yeah, that’s how nocturnal I am, and that’s how early this interview is.
My Final Fantasy MMO JRPG suddenly became a western…

Anyway, I knew the Northern zone would be based on North America considering the main zone was very South American… but I didn’t expect a literal Wild West…
My friend got me back to Final Fantasy XIV again, honestly not too excited about the latest story expansion but-
I did do my first trial after returning from my four year break. I wasn’t very good…
But I didn’t do awfully at least.
The biggest problem I have is that I only have vague memory of how to use my class, and muscle memory.
And also what I read of my skills as a refresher.
The bigger problem I have is I have forgotten everything about the party dynamic stuff like burst windows etc. Relearning that is going to be slow.
It’s Chapter 100 of this volume!
Which honestly, doesn’t sound like a milestone when you see this is chapter 1154 overall…
And considering how many chapters there are left to get through…
This is a LONG novel alright.
In fact it basically has two endings as far as I have heard. A middle point where all the original storylines complete, and then a direct continuation which heads off to its own ending.
The most annoying thing about scheduling chapters for the new year is the date entry…
You have to use the dropdown for the month, then type in the day, then type in the year, then type in the hour, then type in the minute.
Each is an individual action in its own entry box.
Why doesn’t this site just have a a single button for the date at least?!?!?!
Anyway, this is the final bonus chapter for new year for Maiden…
Now I need to do emergency edits on the other novels i need to post for…
I am very tired, I didn’t plan to have to edit eight extra chapters today…
But this is the price I pay for only checking the proper schedule on the day before.
Anyway, this chapter was actually pretty fun, I enjoyed working on it.
I wonder what the next is like.
Also I just realised we’re approaching chapter 100 of this volume.
So uh…
I didn’t realise I had to schedule some chapters for new year…
Until the day before…
So now I have to edit a bunch of chapters that I hadn’t planned for…
That’s what I get for using my phone calendar which has an offline copy of the schedule…
I should have checked the live one…
I finally finished Demon Lord 2099 today.
I enjoyed it pretty well, interestingly paced anime too, covering two volumes in the entire season.
Usually you go a little faster than that with LN adaptations, so it was a refreshing pace.
I was hoping for something a little more Shadowrun in vibe I think, but I think the overall setting worked pretty well.
The first arc felt a bit more cyberpunk to me than the second, which was mostly just dealing with the leftover fallout of the 500 year ago stuff.
I have to apologise to EternallyBocchi. But, it’s too funny.
Some of you may remember a long time ago I wrote a parody side story chapter, where Nanako gets a bit physical with Lily.
The chapter took place between two actual chapters, but was entirely made up.
I scheduled it as a fake chapter in place of the real chapter it was meant to be hoping for an amusing outcome…
Well…
Years later it paid off big time.
One of those bot scalper sites stole the chapter in place of the real chapter, and someone read it without realising it was my fake chapter… and loathed it.
They loathed it so much they now hate the entire character of Nanako.
I’m in stitches from the laughter.
I utterly ruined this story for that random reader.
