Automata Maid Chapter 121 Part 2

I am still amazed A Returner’s Magic got animated.
I am still super curious as to which version of the events they plan to follow.
The comic version twisted a few character moments to push for a different romantic subplot.
I stopped reading both at the same time quite a way in though, so I can’t say if the main plots started to diverge too.

I know there was a few abridged and expanded scenes in both versions to better fit the formats of course too.

I meant to play some more Starfield today but I got distracted by the new anime season…
It’s a big season.
I am a little annoyed that I couldn’t do both but alas, such is life.
I think I will have to accept that one of my friends who bought the game is going to eclipse my game time.

But I’m going to blame the fact that I can’t just play one game all day.
And the fact that the friend sometimes leaves the game running when not playing it!
That’s cheating!

Automata Maid Chapter 119

I’ve been reading a web comic series recently and I think the author didn’t know how to pace it.
It spent like 30 chapters setting up the original premise, and then when it finally decided to expand beyond that it was done in chunks of about 10 chapters per arc.
I’d like to point this out, the first arc was three times as long as the rest of it! The first arc was also a THIRD of the entire comic series!

The pacing and development I was set up to expect was not what was delivered.
The ending felt like it came out of nowhere as well, guess they got bored of it?
Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

Automata Maid Chapter 118

A friend of mine came complaining that they were reading something with great art but bad story.
They summarised it as “Abusive a̲s̲s̲h̲o̲l̲e̲ x submissive idiot”.
Isn’t that like… most female targeted romance material though?

One day maybe they can solve their market problem.
Anyway time to consume my 100th isekai.

Automata Maid Chapter 116

When it comes to posting chapters sometimes I get stuck on the pre-chapter rambles for longer than when I have to do the actual editing.
Especially on days like today where I need to come up with four unique things.

So lets talk about manga and comics etc that I am reading.
I started Catastrophic Necromancer recently, which is like if Solo Levelling and Versatile Mage had a child together.
I also found out that Legend of Star General hadn’t actually been dropped but for some reason wasn’t on mangadex for a whole bunch of chapters? I don’t remember anything that happened though so I might drop it anyway.

And then uh… just my usual isekai trash!

Automata Maid Chapter 115

In a discord I’m in one of the people of the server regularly reports on the state of allergens in the area, such as pollens and molds etc.
But they always preface the posts with stuff like “Atlanta is trying to kill me” for example.

My brain always defaults to imagining Jason’s ultimate ability in Fate which just summons the Argonauts to his side, who then relentless bully him.
“Why is Atalanta trying to kill you?”

Anyway just goes to show how I read things.

Automata Maid Chapter 114

As you know I’ve been playing Starfield lately.
I have 27 hours in it so far (from official release, not early access!) and recently finished the UC Vanguard storyline.
I really enjoyed that one, and it had some great world building stuff in it!

I don’t mean lore either.
I mean actual player impact on the world at large!
There were multiple points in the story where the news radio spoke about stuff I was doing, where NPCs changed their reactions, and where there were little set pieces in the levels to reflect ongoing events, and then at the end there were distinct changes in the attitudes of some people in radiant dialogue.

Since this is an Automata chapter let’s discuss Nier Automata.
Only one thing though…

Has anyone else noticed how weirdly frequent Nier does collabs with things?
Like why is that?
Do companies want Nier collabs? Does Nier want collabs? It’s a big franchise so do they just not charge much for collabs? Or what?
It’s strange to me! I want to know!

Automata Maid Chapter 111

It’s chapter 111!
I like it when they do this.
I’m also a fan of chapter 101’s specifically because it reminds me of the first ever username I used online back in the day.

(It ended in a 101)
It’s interesting to me that this originated in US education number but somehow became ubiquitous with tutorials.

I put one of my books on my highest shelf that I cleared finally.
It’s completely out of the way, but it beats having to move it whenever I want to access whatever other shelf it was haphazardly in front of.

Literally had to move it once a day regularly for a while just to swap it between the middle and bottom shelf when I wanted things.
Well now that middle shelf is full of Star Trek rpg stuff though…

Automata Maid Chapter 109

So Sins of a Solar Empire got an update.
Guess they’re trying to bring awareness to the early access sequel right now.
To be honest I would start playing that game again if I could remember the mod I used to use!

It added a few new factions, and I remember there being an alternative human one that had this Battlestar style capital ships that could just field enormous numbers of fighters.
I loved those, and would always go for massive spam of carriers and the like.
I would really enjoy doing it again if I just knew the mod.
