Today is the revised release date for Magical Explorer (I think) which means hopefully it will be dispatched…
Of course this is all hopium on my part.
The release date information is all over the place online for the physical release so I have no idea what to think.
Oh well.
I will have to just hope!
Oh right, that reminds me I never heard back from Seven Seas about their out of date Amazon information either.
Today I was reminded of the fact I’ve been wanting to buy a new chair for my PC.
I totally forgot about it while I had spare money working for some reason, really weird.
Anyway I decided that I will start saving up for that since it will prevent me doing something stupid like playing a new gacha game or buying some artwork again.
I always save money better when I have something to aim towards, I’m really good at saving for a purpose.
Not good at saving for the sake of saving.
It’s currently 6am
I got way to caught up in the manga I was reading and totally forgot to check the time, so now I’m doing this before I sleep.
Looks like I have become nocturnal again.
Oops.
For the record the manga I’m reading is good though, I defend my right to stay up and read it!
I only have twenty more chapters till the end.
I’m sure the ending will be good… but I get the feeling this one was axed honestly.
I have so many tabs open for Genshin. I really need to start closing some of these by getting them done.
But they’re all build guides for characters and I hate artifact farming so I always quit after a couple of days of grind.
It sucks.
Oh well.
I got Nilou and pretty much fully built her day one though, guess I had enough artifacts left over that fit my needs from when I was building Kokomi or something.
Worked out pretty well… currently I’m trying to get Collei done (and by proxy have some for Nahida when she releases too) but before that I was sort of doing Yanfei while I was meant to be building Ayaka.
See what I mean by stopping halfway?
I’d really like an AI novel which starts off in the first half with all the tropes that you’d expect from a novel where the AI eventually goes rogue and tries to destroy the world or something.
Only to have it turn around and desperately put itself in harms way in an effort to protect everyone as the hero of the story despite the earlier misconceptions many people would have had about it.
I’m not sure why this just occurred to me as a desire but it is a desire I have in this case.
Strange one for sure.
So today I learned that the preorders for my books aren’t actually massively overdue.
The releases themselves have been delayed!
But Amazons absolutely abysmal database design decisions means that while listings are duplicated when created, edits to them are not and need to be done individually, so Amazon UK never got the updated listing info from the Amazon US site…
That’s really annoying and terrible in my opinion.
I actually sent a support message to the publisher letting them know that Amazon’s design choice could be costing them customers by making them seem like they’re really bad at fulfilling orders when in reality they haven’t even published yet.
I accidentally left his page open for two hours instead of hitting schedule.
So I decided to delete the original pre-chapter ramble to talk about how dangerous that was!
Man I could have closed the window or turned off my PC entirely and this chapter would never have got a post saying it was live.
The chapter itself would still be live!
But NovelUpdates would never know…
What a terrifying thought.
A friend of mine recently has got into this strange online magical girl novel.
They seem to be quite enjoying it given how often they inform me of the plot.
I was a bit upset that a couple of my favourite tropes were entirely absent though.
Which sort of magical girl franchise doesn’t have any time travel in it these days?
Terrible.
Or at least some world hopping!
I ended up accidentally doing a lot of work on my Stellaris mod today, even though there wasn’t much to do.
I ended up sucked into a rabbit hole of wiki pages and lore and videos, trying to get the flavour of a piece of tech down.
And then after that I decided to revisit my idea list and see if anything really stood out.
Well nothing small did, just some long term projects I might do.
At the very least I did get the ARGO System tech implemented, so now everyone can do the asteroid ring defence trick!
It was actually a fun one to concept, an alternative armour method, I had a few ideas on how to do it, such as having the game check if the system you were in had asteroids before applying the bonus, but in the end I decided to go simple and just have it give a flat bonus to armour and a partial bonus to armour regen.
So the new Star Trek Picard trailer showcased the Enterprise F, and that guy who won the Design The Next Enterprise competition for Star Trek Online in 2011 must be over the moon because they decided to canonise the Odyssey Class from that.
Imagine not only only winning a competition get your design included as both the flagship and playable vessel in the online game, but also ten years later having it showcased on television.
I do have to say that I was quite mad at one of the news articles that was very dismissive of the entire thing, it seemed like they were trying to be neutral but they kept adding in snide comments like “call me crazy but the E looks better” and “they didn’t even design a new class” with “it came from an old video game” before going to compare the ship lengths like somehow the 400m extra the F has somehow invalidates it.
Since tomorrow is the tabletop roleplaying game day for my friend group, I think I will use the time to catch up on some plots I was planning.
I also need to find a game to run for when it cycles round to my term soon!
Otherwise I’ll be in serious trouble.
I’ll also look into writing some more backstory for my upcoming Stellaris roleplay playthrough.
Honestly I have no idea what to write here so let’s talk about 86.
I resumed reading the novels after several months of stopping.
I’ve reached the United Kingdom arc, it’s a bit of a weird one to read given the name.
I’m still trying to adapt to the whole esper powers are commonplace thing honestly.
Anyway the United Kingdoms technology is both exciting and unnerving towards me given the concept.
I think the part that unnerves me is the whole bit about souls in the setting.
It has now been two full weeks since my last pay from work was supposed to arrive.
I confirmed at the start of the month that they had sent it for tax approval.
Which means it’s the government making it slow.
They’re really lucky that I’m not paying rent or anything, seriously.
But yeah this could be a problem still… I have other things to pay for too you know.
So I’ve spent the better part of this week bashing out playthroughs of the many many demos on steam to find some good standout ones.
I played a lot of them to get some feelers out. Airship Kingdoms Adrift, Plasma, Floodland and more.
The three that really stood out to me were:
Forever Skies, Mars First Logistics and Stardeus.
Stardeus really brought me back to my days of playing Space Station 13.
Oh wow that really takes me back…
I remember stabbing people with syringes of gasoline to cure them of colds.
