I just…
Spent the day making a mod…
I never expected the day to come, but yeah, I’m a modder again now.
Actually it was just an x4 mod, and surprisingly my experience modding stellaris came in handy!
It used a very similar structure, despite being a very different game and engine.
I guess it’s just one of those convergent design things where it comes to games?
I haven’t touched an actual triple a game for modding so I wouldn’t know for those…
The is progress on my new original characters art design redesign design thingy…
Uh…
Her science fiction themed phantasy star inspired type mecha outfit thingy…
Really hard to explain it actually, probably because we still have some thematic details we’re weighing between.
Currently the bodysuit/plugsuit part is going through an overhaul because the final version came over too simple so we’re adding detail.
More armour-like pieces to be installed!
My parents have returned from their week long camping trip.
It’s nice to have someone else in the house that isn’t my obnoxious brother again.
They passively control him by exerting influence through “people to talk to”.
My brother most likely has ADHD and he’s a nightmare…
Not in the excusable way.
He’s just really annoying when he wants to talk to you.
Oh so uh… apparently this the final chapter…
Given how sudden this ending feels I can only assume the author gave up?
Hm… yup… that’s the only conclusion I can reach.
At least it sort of functions??? Honestly so many plot threads hanging.
Yeah this was definitely an axe situation.
Anyway, we’ll continue to post the side story chapters, but otherwise yeah, the end.
I’ve moved on from reading cultivation stuff, now I am in my villain isekai era!
Well I say that like I don’t periodically rotate what I am reading anyway.
I wanted one of those isekais that involve a settings original plot and either manipulating or preserving it, and it just happened some villain isekais fit the bill so I started looking for them.
I also got reminded of Surviving the Academy and reread that, it’s about as good as I remember, the MTL translation for recent chapters is very very iffy though.
The interludes are over! The main story resumes!
I actually enjoy pov swaps in stories in general, I like seeing moments from other perspectives.
I also like reading other characters reactions to things we’ve seen from one perspective already.
I know some people complain because it’s covering content twice in a way…
But I just like seeing the cool moments again and getting another view of it.
Especially if it’s a character that doesn’t understand the full picture.
So I tried to salvage that x4 save and I made some progress.
I figured out roughly what the problem is regarding how the enemy station spawns and how you have to destroy it to stop the raids…
I battled with searching for it all day, but the sector is one of the largest sectors in the game and the variability on the spawn location “outside the sectors edge” just causes too much ground to cover for locating the hive…
So I have given up and installed a long range scanner booster mod…
I found a mod that doubles the base scan range, which feels decent enough that it’s not going to demolish any sense of exploration but also remove all my tedium finding this station
I also found another mod that lets you set scout vessels to permanently explore a sector in a proper pattern, so I can just leave a very fast ship running around in the future for if they build a second station.
Yes… I finally gave in and got mods for the game I refused to mod.
I started playing X4 again today.
My last save was almost three years ago…
I resumed it…
I am being demolished by three years worth of updates applying at once.
I have a massive trade empire but it’s in the middle of crumbling due to the changes to enemy spawns and trade route networks.
The hardest hitting part is the new enemy raid system which I have no active defenses against currently, the heart of my industrial production is being constantly attacked because the older version of the game favoured large static defenses instead of mobile reactive ones. I’ve lost so many mining vessels it will take me a long time to recover the losses, and I’m still losing more because I’m having to learn on the fly how to counter the ways the new systems are exploiting gaps in my setups.
I do believe a horse drawn hearse just went by my window…
That was rather surreal…
I didn’t get time to look at it properly because I didn’t notice until it was going right by and there were cars parked in the way, but it was a glass box carriage being pulled.
The sun was glaring right in my eyes off of the glass so I couldn’t make out the contents before it was obscured.
So on the way back from the shop I saw what I think was a bright object fall from the sky but unfortunately I was both standing underneath a lamppost at the time and am notoriously short sighted so I couldn’t make out any details.
I may have imagined it, it may have been a rogue firework, it may have been a meteor, I will never know.
But it didn’t fall onto my house and there’s no bombshell suddenly lodging with me, I don’t think it could possibly be aliens sadly.
Seems I have to wait a little longer for my protagonist era.
Actually given my age I will probably start to qualify for the middle aged neet getting isekaid for a second chance at life or whatever in a few years…
Fascinating news!
We now have one more chapter a week I think!
Or at least, that’s what my calendar is telling me too do now…
Or was it always two chapters a week for this?
No I think it was one…
Am I getting old?!
Cough cough. Anyway, here’s the final Interlude (I think) (for now) before we return to our protagonists adventures!
I opened discord on this backup browser by accident and it logged into a backup discord account I had forgotten even existed from when I was still unsure about how discord fully worked and if I would need to keep a vaguely professional looking front account for any work I might do, it only had one conversation on it and it was with a deleted user.
I have no memory of who they are, but we joked about some stuff and it seemed I knew them from another source.
A mystery for the ages!
Well it’s a shame they’re gone now whoever they were.
We have an official release date for the Fate/stay night visual novel now!
And we have an announcement for Hollow Ataraxia. I hope they do the remaster justice, it needs a bit of rewriting now with the recent lore from FGO.
The minimum requirements for it on Steam are amusing:
“Do you have a graphics card?”
“Okay”
So the Hoyoverse Boycott failed miserably.
In other news, water is wet.
0.1% of playerbase unable to achieve any meaningful goal.
Not to mention the addicts that tried to boycott Genshin by playing Star Rail and Zenless instead.
Literally nobody involved was competent I swear.
It was so funny to watch them try.
With my increase in reading of cultivation genre stuff I have been increasingly tempted to try my hand at writing one.
I really want to see more usage of scientific knowledge in such settings.
I tried reading one which was about a guy who had alien technology, but the science gimmick wasn’t very pronounced.
It was just a different style of power.
And there was another about being gods of little worlds and building a tech civilization but it didn’t scratch the itch either…
