The UK has a “red” severe weather warning for the next few days.
This is the first time in history that a severe weather warning has been issued for high temperatures.
A red level means that it’s a national emergency and that services should prepare for potential shut downs and major health issues.
In fact some of our trains have already been stopped because the railways are warping under the temperature expansion.
The place I work gets really hot too so I’m a little anxious about having to go in on the two worst days of the week.

Anyway, mystery of that aside, I’m not too fussed if I never get them, it just means that my many many many years of reading Arpeggio has reached its end due to stock issues.
Luckily I have since taken on many more light novels and manga to enjoy.
And if I really wanted I could just find where my paperbacks left off to read online.

Anyway, today I was hardcore carrying him as he explored Dragonspine for some exp to continue the story.
It’s hard to judge how much help to give someone.
On one hand you don’t want to flood them with information of varied levels of usefulness.
But on the other hand you don’t want them to have to learn things the long way and have to make up for lost time.
I watched the Sword Art Online movie finally today.
Having read the Progressive novel I thought I knew roughly what to expect, but it was different in a lot of ways.
I had to laugh when they pawned off a lot of Kirito’s early dialogue on the movie original new girl.
Overall I think it worked well, but it also held a couple of problems I didn’t expect as a result.
I wonder how they’re going to carry that new girl going forward.
It’s really funny I started watching Isekai Drugstore yesterday, then today Isekai Pharmacy started airing and it was just like.
“Wow that is seriously a coincidence.”
Also Pharmacy is miles better. To an impossible degree.
Drugstore is just so… cookie cutter.
Well maybe it’ll pick up? Ghost girl is cute.

So Hololive Gen 1 girls got updates to their Live2D models again.
And I’m so very very glad that Aki got to keep her patta patta sensors.
They were my favourite part of her outfit and all of her other outfits swap them out for other things, similar but different.
I was worried they’d be replaced in this one too.
Anyway, the reveal stream was great fun, Fubuki made it great.

Had I known that I was going to be dragged to comicon this week I would have kept my paperback copies of Magical Explorer and Otome Mob unread in reserve for the train trip.
Well I have about a dozen unread volumes of light novels on my kindle I can read too I suppose, plenty to catch up on.
It’s also possible that J-Novel will put out a couple of prepubs for the day too. Which reminds me, Should bring my charging cable for the train trip.
Luckily the High Speed trains here have sockets on their seats for this purpose. Should keep my phone alive for the trip there and back even if I play some games on the way the whole time.
Other than that it should be fine.
There’s a lot of anime this season to discuss so let’s talk about the recent ones that I took interest in.
The first is Lycoris Recoil, wasn’t sure entirely what to expect but so far it’s been really well written and was quite exciting! The duo dynamic is well established too, I like it.
Prima Doll was a massive let down though, the first episode was shaky at best, there’s no real hook and the characters are rather undeveloped and bland at the moment.
Engage Kiss has no right to be as good as it is, skilfully walking the fine line between parody and serious, overall I am very impressed.
And of course as a reader of the Light Novel I had to give Black Summoner a shot and I think they’ve done a good job at capturing Kelvin’s uniqueness in the genre, hopefully it holds up, I liked the teaser for the future party members too, although they didn’t show Rion yet. Hiding her I suppose.
Well I’m going to be providing a guided tour for my parents and a family friend tomorrow.
For reasons unknown to me they spontaneously decided to go to comicon in London this Sunday.
Naturally as the resident otaku they have roped me in to being their support.
Seriously I’m not sure why I have been pulled into this but whatever.
I got free tickets out of it.
Although I’m not sure if that’s a blessing given all the memorabilia I might end up buying.
I didn’t think it possible but Slime Sage’s anime somehow managed to make the guy more boring than ever imaginable.
It really goes to show that generic protagonists only work because 70% of their character is internal monologue.
When you put them in anime it just… becomes dull.
Well they managed to make him even more dull in the anime because he barely speaks at all.
Even Princess Connects protagonist had more personality.
