Editor for and Demon Sword Maiden!
Gentrified NEET and siscon.
Currently looking for an imouto. Applicants must be under the age of 16, cute and with long hair.
Optional traits are: Neko, princess and/or maid.
I started reading J-Novels new licenses today.
Both of them were about hardcore gamers getting isekaid amusingly!
One was about a tabletop gamer trying to min-max his character stats and enjoy his isekai life.
The other was about a hardcore video gamer trying to find the most challenging gameplay possible.
The tabletop one feels more interesting at the moment, but to be honest both are so similar they blur together.
Also, I think the neighbour girl in the hell mode one is secretly the hero of that world.
I logged back on to FGO today for the first time in months.
Obviously I’m pretty far behind, like two whole lostbelts in fact!
But the lolivinci banner and the free quartz lured me back for a few rolls.
I did indeed get lolivinci on my 24th roll.
Which is great.
I was tempted to go for GSSR but the only one I want is Reines so I might just wait for her rerun rather than gamble.
The translator has quit.
There’s been debate over how to handle this. I decided I’ll just straight up say it.
We’re not sure how things will progress from here. Basically, we still have a little stockpile and the release rate is dropping to one a week.
This might buy us time to find a replacement, but don’t be too surprised if this ends up dropped either.
Everything is left to the mysterious force.
Realist Hero started airing today.
Overall the anime seems a pretty strong adaptation so far and a decent introduction. First episodes can be hit and miss though so I won’t judge it yet.
I did have two nitpicks.
The first is Liscia’s introduction is changed, in the novels and manga the room is more busy and it takes a while for them to introduce themselves.
The second is that the final line of the episode is different, likely do to the translator, but originally it was closer to “you can’t fill an empty stomach with patriotism”.
Anyway, nothing bad about it. Actually on the plus side Roroa is cuter in fact.
So since this is a game about MMOs let us talk about MMOs!
Asmongold, a big time WoWhead started playing Final Fantasy XIV today.
I watched the entire stream.
It was incredibly frustrating at times but that happens when you have over 100,000 backseaters.
It peaked at over 200,000 and apparently he got like 5000 new subscribers in that one stream.
Man playing a rival game is like the best of both worlds, you get two fanbases checking in.
Around the same time this chapter goes live, give or take an hour, that artist I wanted to commission opens commissions again.
Hopefully this time I can get a slot!
I really want to commission some art of Eleanor, the heroine of the novel I posted that draft chapter of one time.
Forgot what novel I posted that for.
It was one of them.
The chapter is floating around the site.
I actually only posted that chapter to get more ad revenue. Muhahahahaha. Muhahahahahahaha. Muhahahahahahahahahaha.
I’m writing this while watching Kazuha’s trailer on the Genshin youtube.
The music is different than I expected.
Also they used Gunyun Stone Forest as the stage which is a bit of a let down. I was hoping that Inazuma would be sort of teased.
There is a bit that could be in Inazuma but it’s deniably Liyue in style too.
Annoying.
But not a bad trailer. Not gonna roll for him though.
There was another spider today.
I think they’re coming in from my house’s loft or something because my room is warmer?
I don’t know.
It climbed on my keyboard!
Luckily I caught it and flushed it down the toilet.
Vengeance was mine.
I ordered an autograph from Eula’s voice actress.
Not entirely sure why.
I don’t even have Eula.
I just saw the merch and jumped on it.
I thought I had good impulse control when it came to spending but I have found the reality.
I have good impulse control when it comes to spending… only when I have something to save for.
Now I have bought everything I want for the forseeable future I just keep spending!
So this chapter originally translated Edinburgh as Edenborough.
I was considering leaving it as is because this is a fictional setting, but after checking on all the other names which are 1:1 to their real world counterparts I corrected this five minutes before scheduling.
If a couple of Edens slipped by in previous or future chapters please shout, but I’ll do my best to avoid that.
Now enjoy the chapter, also I should probably check the previous quickly.
So glad find and replace exists.
I bought a feather duster the other day to try and deal with my recurring spider problem lately.
My parents think I have become enamoured with it.
I mean it’s cool!
It’s suuuuper fluffy. And the handle extends so far that it is actually taller than me!
This chapter was rather interesting to edit because the author sort of addressed a complaint I made a few chapters ago.
This is a really good example of writing, because it validates the readers suspension of suspension of disbelief.
It sounds a bit counter intuitive but it actually encourages the reader to be critical of what they are reading and make their own judgements.
That kind of writing style is really good at preventing plot holes, because if you encourage the readers to do it then you yourself have to make sure you’re keeping things in mind.
Of course, I don’t expect this to be perfect since it’s a web novel and things slip out of memory much easier in something you’re writing on the go.
I’m watching someone do art on twitch, and they’re drawing Lena Tally.
For a very long time I was watching this thinking it was an OC.
And then only when it started to be coloured and detailed did I realise it was a fecking DanMachi character.
It is a strange world we live in.
There is someone who is actually a big enough fan of a background character to pay for art of them.
