As with all rng equipment based grind games, I have immediately lost most of my interest and investment in Genshin.
I was doing lots of side quest things with the intention of just doing what I could do before moving on to the more difficult areas.
And the game decided to force a difficult level increase on me.
Now my DPS can’t keep up at all. The enemies have tens of thousand of health and I do 100 damage per hit on average.
I hate it when games punish you for not min-maxing dps.
I either need to spend a fortune getting better units for better combinations, or I need to stop doing what I was finding fun and do what they want me to do so I can play their game.
Awful design.
All I wanted to do was get collectibles and achievements before I moved on to the next town.
And now I spend thirty minutes fighting bosses and failing every time trial challenge there is.
Way to ruin it for me.
And it’s not like there’s a readily available fix too because upgrading my equipment needs items from the next town which is probably a nightmare to reach because all the enemy levels have doubled!
I was intending to do some challenges on Tears of Avia to write guides for them since people were struggling with the difficulty.
But then I got distracted.
Now I have too many games to balance once more.
I want to complete the Tears of Avia achievements, I’m also supposed to be playing on the shared Empyrion server my discord has once more, and on top of that I’m playing Genshin Impact in my spare time now.
As a result I no longer have enough time for my games. If it’s only two then I can balance them, one for streams and one for free time off stream.
But with three it becomes awkward.
Well I finished the Mondstadt arc as you could call it of Genshin Impact.
I guess it works as a plot hook!
Now I guess I just need to hunt all those orb thingies and finish off the area achievement so my OCD can let me move on to the next town…
But let’s do that when it’s not 6am…
Yes I copied this straight from discord. I was too tired to think of some new way to phrase it.
For the first time in basically forever I had writers block trying to write this post.
Mostly because…well I wasn’t really sure what to say?
I don’t know it’s a bit weird.
Normally I have a bunch of random stuff I can say, or at least something partially relevant to the story content, site or discord.
Failing that I can ramble about something that happened or a new hobby or just some dull private stuff.
Anyway regardless of the situation I usually have something but I just stared at this for about forty minutes trying to figure what to type.
In the end I have given up and decided to type about having nothing to type.
So I have this idea for a short story but I have no idea how on Earth I would actually write it because it’s from the point of view of what would arguably be an animal.
But the basic premise is that some advanced human or alien civilization genetically engineered an ecosystem of large space organisms in place of building automated interplanetary infrastructure, and then long after that species went extinct or moved on that ecosystem kept on going.
So I’ve been building this map of how I imagine some form of ecosystem like this would operate.
Mainly for getting the necessary nutrients for organisms in space and moving them around. Given the artificial nature it’s all cooperation based so I focused on symbiotic relationships.
For example I thought of these really cool space fish that have these large photosynthetic and photoelectric frills that double as a form of locomotion for moving being planets. Then you could have these large jellyfish things that hover in the upper atmosphere of gas giants and collected gasses which they then exchange with the other organisms for the nutrients they need to live. And you could have these whale things that cruise through asteroid facilities to get the metal rich and water rich rocks.
So you could have the jellyfish and whales transfer material to the fish then they go towards the sun and use the sunlight for electrolysis and other processes to break them down and refine them, where they then fly back out to hand over the refined materials in exchange for the raw materials and the cycle repeats.
And you can expand to include each part of a chain needed for life. I think it’s strangely poetic.
I finally managed to drag myself out of video game addiction this weekend to watch some anime.
I finished a few, started a few others.
Namely today it was Assault Thighs, Picked Up By Gods, Strike Witches and yesterday there was like a couple of others I forgot the name of but whatever.
Man Warlords was a let down.
Oh wait I meant Assault Lily not Assault Thighs.
Anyway, what do you suggest? I have a huge list to get through.
Million Lives, Irregular, Day I Became God…
Hey guys, I made this same post on a Not Sure, Another World chapter update too but I know the reader bases don’t entirely overlap so I’m going to say it here too!
It’s literally ad verbatim so feel free to skip if you’ve read it before.
So this week a small indie game that I have been supporting for quite a while finally released.
It’s called Tears of Avia, and it’s on XBOX and PC.
I really love this game, and the reviews for it right now are…middling at best.
So I’ve decided to try and share the love and throw it out at you guys.
It’s a SRPG/JRPG type hybrid that basically any anime fan will love! You can think of it something akin to Final Fantasy Tactics but…well less AAA.
And when I said small, I meant a small team, but there’s at least thirty hours of content in this game. At least. And that’s not including replayability and alternate endings and the hardcore mode.
To celebrate its launch I’m thinking of doing a steam key giveaway too.
So let me know in the comments if you’re interested in a chance to win!
Also shameless plug of my twitch channel that has my ongoing playthrough. (I should be going live about an hour or so after this posts!)
I went to go and read some manga…
Then I realised I’ve had so many computer problems and changed components so often it’s lost my cache and I can’t remember my place.
Also I forgot what site I used to read on…
Guess I’m cursed.
Did I mention I have an SSD now? It’s so quiet!
It’s funny because now the only noise my PC makes is my fans…or my GPU screaming when loading something because it’s too powerful for my other components to handle and is actually held back. But to prevent that bottlenecking I basically have to replace my entire PC!
Today I realised I’ve been playing No Man’s Sky so much I’ve neglected all this seasons anime…
Well guess I will be taking a break for a day or two…
Yeah who am I kidding. Time to pull an allnighter and watch all the anime!
One of the things I’ve always been bad at in games is creative use of props.
For example in No Mans Sky the items you get given to build with are pretty limited. Yet I’ve seen people make amazing facilities with high levels of realism and detail.
Like living rooms, kitchens and various other things!
Yet I can’t even make a half convincing engine room with some pipe props.
Well in the end I managed to make something I’m half fond of though.
If you watch my stream in about an hour or so (at the time of this going live) you’ll get to see it when I give the tour.
So it’s just gone 5am and for some reason I’m really hungry! But here’s the problem.
It’s a workday which means my stepdad will be waking up in the next hour and a half. Potentially sooner.
Do I risk raiding somewhere downstairs?
Why am I even asking this? By the time you read it the crisis will have long passed!
Well who knows. Guess this might be my final internet log before catastrophe.
Aside from the next post…
I wonder if any of you guys play No Man’s Sky still?
I got addicted to it recently.
Though I just finished the main story and can feel the inevitable burnout coming.
Also here’s a present for you!

It’s nothing special. Just a random portal address.
There’s a portal on my base planet too but I’m not going to expose that till I scan those dastardly flying creatures that will never spawn for me.
Seriously I’ve been all over the damn planet and they just never spawn! They’re supposed to be common too!
I have the same problem with some fish on a nearby planet! Common but never spawning!
We finally reached Chapter 100 of Volume 2!
Thanks for everyone who’s read this far.
I know I know, it’s actually chapter 255 not chapter 100!
But any reason to celebrate is a good reason right!
Well it would be a good time to celebrate if our heroines weren’t getting their a̲s̲s̲e̲s̲ kicked last chapter…
Let’s see how they turn things around! That’s how it works right?
I have developed a crippling addiction to No Mans Sky.
I just played it for a solid 12 hours today!
I bought it October 1st and I have over 50 hours in it already!
That’s insane!
I don’t normally play games this much before I burn out!
I have however almost finished the main story already so oops…that “I have no goals” burnout is probably about to arrive since I can’t enjoy open world games for the open world part.
Satisfactory being the exception.
However I will get my biological ship first! The whole reason I got the game!
