I have no idea what to write here, so I am just going to elaborate on some feedback I got from players about my D&D campaign.
Specifically the two character concepts I have been provided so far. I decided to go characters first, story second for this campaign, just because I usually do the reverse. I wonder how this will work out.
The first is someone that wants to play an undead wizard, not a big problem, I have lich-lite race options, though the rest of the details are oddly specific. They want it to be a seafarer that died at sea and recently reawoke. I am not sure how I am going to work this in, but I’ll see what I can do with the concept while working around other concepts before I approach them with options.
The second is someone who wants to play something fey, also not a problem, I have a plethora of fey related race options. Not to mention the official fairy. I am hoping I can nudge them into the dryad race I have, just because I have a concept for making their tree be one next to the parties main inn. My working idea if they go with it is to make the tree having been destroyed some time back in a storm, but they do a ritual to preserve the dryads spirit, and later transfer it to a new tree. For whatever reason this process loosened the binding to the tree enough for the dryad to travel, or some other shenanigan is at play depending on how I develop the story. The main feature I want to include is that the dryads tree is sort of a symbol of the inn. If they decide to go for a proper fey I have other ideas in my pocket too, specifically I like to homebrew my feywild in D&D to be more like fairy britain in FGO, though with a heavier nature theme. I like that kind of sideways morality the fairies have in fate, where they single-mindedly pursue their central concept. I think that works really well in D&D for displaying how they don’t really fit human morality, while also making it so they can still be placed on the classic alignment system.
I did get feedback from a third player (out of the four main player candidates, this is good!) but they didn’t have anything distinct in mind, just a few races they feel like playing. One of which was also fey themed… am I just going to end up with a player party that is immune to “hold person” at this rate? Well, I guess once I opened the floodgates to anything on the full list of homebrew content I have I should have expected this. I’ll step in if they start picking weird classes, but the races I can handle.

In a bit of a rush, so no real ramble today.
I’m going to immediately pass out after this.
I am exhausted and have a busy week ahead of me.

I find it interesting when you can tell someone is going through a phase or something.
I brought this up because as I was transcribing the anime dnd content into the software I noticed both of the two most recent subclass option additions used a summoned ally statblock.
For specifics, the Shadow Commander (Solo Levelling themed) subclass and the Circle of Spirits (ReZero themed) subclass both have summoned allies.
None of the previous ones had this at all, so it’s clearly the source of inspiration for them.
Neat little thing to see.
Was a bit of a pain to software implement though.

Twitch has implemented this new feature where they send me notifications for “Streams you might like”.
But they have no information of what I am into properly to actually go off except what streamers I follow are streaming…
Which means I get wild stuff like “This person is playing Sniper Elite 4!”
Why would I ever watch some random person playing a game I know nothing about?

I spent pretty much all of today taking apart the entry system for a dungeons and dragon character sheet builder. Just so I could copy over some of my homebrew stuff into it.
Wasn’t overly difficult, considering the entire thing just uses text files, but it took some digging to find out how certain aspects apply and where.
Even now with I have a few things that aren’t adding up properly, but I managed to copy over the feats, backgrounds and races that I have.
I am actually considering implementing a couple of the popular ones from D&D Beyond too just for full scope.
The fun part will be getting over the spells I have made over time.
Especially Burning Grasp, that meme cantrip of mine where I accidentally mistook burning hands as a fire version of shocking grasp.
They’re not even remotely similar. Nothing is similar about a cone flamethrower and a touch taser.

One of my favourite parts of Forgotten Realms lore is that there is a nation of paranoid moon people who are completely CONVINCED that all of Toril is plotting to invade the moon, and they live their life in perpetual fear of the coming invasion that must be coming Soon.
The people of Toril have no clue these people are on the moon by the way, there’s a huge illusion around the moon thanks to a certain goddess protecting them.
Their paranoia has zero basis or foundation in reality, they just imagined the entire thing. But what’s great is that they’re completely fine with EVERYONE else. It’s just if you come from Toril they will think you are some forward invasion force or spy which needs immediate elimination.
The reason I bring this up is because I am giving my Lantan gnomes early spacecraft in the lore I have been developing for them, so I am definitely going to write an adventure based on From Earth To The Moon, but it’s gonna be more like “From Toril to Selune”.

It is my birthday.
That is all I have to say.
I look forward to this.
I will get to eat cake… maybe… hopefully…
I will also buy myself a treat.

Does anybody know why AI loves em dashes?
I know they’re good grammar, they’re not bad, in fact I used to like them a lot.
But now whenever I see them I just go “Oh, this was done using AI wasn’t it?”
It’s instinctive at this point, no escape. I am sorry to all you good writers out there using them authentically.
Actually I want to test it now, I want to go read a book from ten or twenty years ago written by an author that uses em dashes and seeing if my brain flags the content.
