A video about dinosaurs landed in my suggestions today.
That was nostalgic to watch, I still love them, but they’re not my entire personality anymore.
I did almost go to study paelontology once though! Things just got messy at the school I was attending and it fell through…
Anyway.
It reminded me that Walking With Dinosaurs is getting an indirect sequel series now.
I can’t wait for that, the ultimate classic dinosaur documentary makes a return!
Do you think if the world followed video game logic there would be a government department that searches for neglected properties and locations to prevent them becoming dungeons or raid zones?
I find the concept amusing honestly.
It would never work though.
Did you know the US frequently loses track of the location of government owned properties because there’s no uniform system for tracking them or their uses because it’s done on an individual department basis. There’s just areas of land that they own but nobody actually knows, and there’s a whole bunch of complicated procedures for relinquishing it so they rarely bother.
At one point they made another department to try and organise them all but that just caused even more problems!
That’s why I doubt the above idea would actually ever work.
I almost lost a £5 note today.
It fell out of my pocket when I was walking back from the shop to buy some biscuits.
Luckily it fell out in my drive, and landed in a crack in the concrete so it didn’t blow away! Talk about luck!
I was worried I’d have to rewalk all the way up to the shop to try and find it, but no it was just there flapping in the wind beckoning me just outside the door…
It was like a surreal experience almost.
I tried reading a Japanese web comic today…
It was… well it was a mess. All the individual building components were completely up my alley, but the final shape of the assembled parts was… horrendous.
It was really bad.
I was questioning it at the end of the first chapter, and the second was the nail in the coffin. I stuck around to read the four available chapters as sunk cost at that point but oh boy it only got worse…
Also the entire premise of the initial chapter is literally resolved by the fourth! In a mystery story?! WHERE WAS THE MYSTERY?!?!?!
Ah!
I almost wrote out a message that was meant to be for a friend in this box and that would have been an experience for everyone involved.
Good thing I stopped!
This is the first time I have felt the pitfall of dual monitors, with the exception of typing like “wwwwwweeeeaaaaaaaaeeeeeee” in discord trying to work out why a game isn’t responding.
I do that more than I care to admit on certain types of games.
Sometimes it’s just too easy to tab out of them!
Here is the other missing chapter, it actually took a while to edit this, so I adjusted the scheduling slightly to be half an hour later instead of ten minutes apart like I planned.
Now I am going to get back in bed, I’ve only eaten once in the past 24 hours and I can feel myself getting dizzy.
I might try to find something light to eat first actually…
Hello everyone, I am sorry this is several days late.
Sadly, out of nowhere at about 6am Sunday morning I ended up extremely sick, and only today have been able to manage enough coherence and energy to sit down at my computer and do work.
Well, I guess this is partially what I get for only doing things a few days in advance instead of a week in advance, but considering this was the first time I really had this problem it goes to show how sick I was.
Somehow, don’t ask me how, I have managed to reach the final boss battle of the latest Star Rail update…
The problem is that I cannot progress any further because the crutch of my team is unusable for the final battle…
The boss not only requires that I don’t use my strongest character, but also has a gimmick that runs completely counter to every character I have built so far…
Actually I have noticed recently the element system of Star Rail is extremely unfriendly to new players…
At some point you are going to need a DPS character of AOE or Single Target of at least half the elements in the game.
In my case I don’t have any real fire or lightning damage dealers, and that’s become my roadblock…
I spent another 10 hours playing Star Rail today…
I managed to unlock Harmony Trailblazer! That’s like the big event of this story update isn’t it I think?
Well the problem is the boss fight that follows… it has a fire and lightning weakness so it’s great for people that have the last few released characters…
The problem is I don’t… the only real damage dealers I have in those fields are Serval and Hook…
Hm… I don’t think they will quite cut it honestly? I could throw myself at it and see what happens I suppose. Has worked for me so far at least…
Well, no other way but to try!
I also spent several hours today doing the merchant sidequest event because my friend said the shop you unlock at the end has good consumables.
Honestly I always forget consumables exist in this game…
Can you believe I’ve made it this far in the story doing a no-healer and no-consumable run? Anyone would think I’m doing some kind of self-inflicted torture challenge!!!
It’s Chapter 1080!
That means that if we compressed each chapter to the size of one pixel we’d have enough for one row of a monitor!
Everyone you may now applaud.
This is a significant milestone!
Seems like the Steam sale will be in June too…
Hmmm…
My birthday is a month before it starts…
What to do about finding a new game…
I just had to spend three hours listening to a friend drone on about tokusatsu.
They really want to make me watch some stuff.
Mainly kamen rider.
Well, I sort of get it?
It’s a big deal, I know of it even though I’ve never watched tokusatsu stuff.
I’ve watched a lot of parodies of it though, amusingly.
On one hand I am glad that Sony walked back their decision to mandate PSN accounts for playing the PC version of Helldivers.
On the other hand I am sad that the odds of my refund request being accepted is now basically zero, I was hoping to use that money get a game I will actually play regularly instead.
In unrelated news:
Did you ever see Luck & Logic as an actual card game just over five years ago?
I got reminded of it today and remembered doing a trial game way back in the day at a convention and being excited to see it after the anime, but never investing because I had nobody to play with. I think I looped round that booth multiple times over the weekend to play it over… I think I did four trial sessions? Woops.
I remember it ending distribution really quickly too, like barely a year or so in… well the game was insanely rule heavy.
One thing I hate is when I wear my headset too long and it starts to get hot.
But then I take them off and I become hyper conscious of the noise of me typing fast…
It’s like I can’t win.
Oh autism, what an experience you are.
Wow, it’s actually May.
We have reached my birth month…
Honestly it’s kind of surreal that I am getting older again…
I might have a midlife crisis in a few years.
That thought alone might trigger a midlife crisis honestly…
