Some kind of plane has been flying around where I live overhead today.
Sadly I am shortsighted so… the most I could figure out was that yup, it’s a plane.
Given the level of noise it was probably low altitude and it still looked small so it was probably a single or two-person aircraft I guess?
Which would make my default hypothesis as to the identity of this unidentified flying object to being one of the spitfire replicas that I believe are owned nearby here.
But that’s mostly wish fulfilment, there are some other equally likely and probably more realistic options for this.
I would like to believe I saw a spitfire though so I shall assume it was until proven otherwise!

I am collecting an abnormally large quantity of 1p coins and it is starting to become a problem.
They are heavy, take up space, and don’t really make practical change.
The only way of disposing them that I can think of is taking them to a self checkout machine and dumping them inside and hoping it will spit out reasonable change back?
Taking them to the bank would be too much hassle, but having this much space being consumed by a small container of useless coins is driving me mad. It is overflowing now.

One of my friends has decided to play Artificer in my D&D campaign. I am so happy to have an artificer at last.
It’s my favourite class, they absolutely need more love. I am so happy to see it get represented. Finally the love and care I put into my science fantasy nonsense can pay off.
There’s a lore justification to sending the party to Lantan too, so I can even use the lore I created for that place!!!!

They did also request a unique spell. So that was interesting. Just to match their inspiration source material.
I might have gone a little overboard on its features but considering one of the requirements of the spell is “using it in a selfless or benevolent manner” I think it will balance out.

We had an extremely strong storm here today.
It lasted a few hours, but the results didn’t last that long. Even though the road was partially flooded it drained in less than an hour, and it’s now only five hours later and the road is completely dry.
Absolutely wild how summer storms are.
At least I can go to the shop now without having to worry about getting soaked, even if it is delayed.

It’s still a bit weird to me that I am having to adapt to wearing the same headset as my previous headset, but just as a newer pair.
I got the exact same model of headset so that I won’t have to get used to it or anything, but the fact it hasn’t been worn for several years means the experience is different anyway, even if the fit is the same.
The volume dial actual has resistance and snaps into the neutral position, the headband fully curls inwards, and in general the entire thing is more stiff and rigid.
I do like how clean it is though, it’s not like I neglected to take care of my old pair, but cleaning this type of headphone is a pain (and partially why I think the ear cushion eventually just peeled away from its mounting system entirely), and five years of constant use takes its toll on anything. My mouse for example, even when cleaned, is in a horrible state where the rubber padding has worn away right down to the plastic on the sides where my fingers grip it. Honestly it could do with replacing too.

I finally caught up on the event for Girls Frontline 2.
I was a bit behind on reading the story, hopefully I can get the character.
I will probably never use this character, but I like having the girls returning from the original game for collection purposes.

The story of the event was pretty basic filler, didn’t really add much to the characters honestly, but it was decently cute.

I just got the news that maru.selinn finished my commission, I actually made this comm at the very end of last year but they have been busy with a convention so it got delayed.
I don’t fault them for this at all of course, life is like that, and conventions are a lot of work if you are going to sell materials.

I ended up on the weird horror side of youtube.
But not even the scary side.
The literary analysis of horror games side… Which was, strange, but also informative.
It was interesting to see people exploring the narratives and gameplay of a genre I have nothing to do with. I genuinely can’t play horror games.
In fact I did try FNAF once I think really long ago… wondering how it could be hard. But I only did a couple of rounds and uninstalled it. Turns out I have no patience for games that are purely “Here are five buttons now master them.”

So after getting into writing a full adventure module for D&D 5th Ed, I have a new found appreciation for adventure module writers.
There is a great deal of artistry that goes into making a coherent through-line for an adventure while leaving contingency space for contact with players, that isn’t dumping the heavy lifting on the DM.

Anyway, for me, I have been having fun with it overall. The hardest challenge is trying to guesstimate how fast players will resolve certain parts of the problems, if I make too many then it won’t fit a session, but too few and you will have to start padding. It’s a challenge.

Several of the shops where I live are having technical issues as a result of a cyber attack which is preventing them from ordering restocks properly.
Apparently nobody has a way to do this manually anymore, technology has ruined us.
Anyway the result is I have been having to buy substitutes of substitutes for my regular snacks.

It’s the worst case scenario me.
I would not survive an apocalypse, I can barely survive a minor technical malfunction.

As I work on my completely homebrew Lantan lore, that’s as original lore accurate as possible, I have run into a major roadblock.
Namely – oh god every single map of this place that exists is different.
The mountains are moved. The islands are resized. The coast changes terrain.
What am I even supposed to do with this? Make something up? Choose my favourite? Mix-and-match bits from all of them?
