“Yan Jie, please watch yourself,” Lin Feng urged.
“Why hold back? People have desires. It’s natural. I’ve never been one to restrain myself. You seem tense, Lin Feng. Let me help you with that,” Yan Jie cooed, stepping closer, her slender finger outstretched.
“Enough! Didn’t you hear him? Show some respect!” Chen Ranran burst in, delivering a sharp kick to Yan Jie.
Yan Jie, sprawled on the floor, laughed instead of wincing. “See, Lin Feng? This is the result of that mongrel’s influence. They resort to violence before words,” she sneered.
“Chen Ranran! Out, now!” Lin Feng commanded.
“But Lin Feng, don’t be fooled by her. Who knows who she’s been with, or what she carries. If… if you have certain… inclinations… I could… Well, I could help. Just stay away from her,” Chen Ranran stammered, her face flushed, her eyes darting between Yan Jie and Lin Feng.
Yan Jie smirked, pointing teasingly at Chen Ranran’s flat chest.
“What are you even thinking about? Anyway, just leave us first. I’m in the middle of questioning her. Trust me.”
“Promise?”
“Absolutely. And no more eavesdropping.”
“And if you dare accept my offer, I’ll spill your secret to Yan Aoxue, the one you’ve been eyeing,” Chen Ranran warned, before storming out.
Sighing, Lin Feng approached the door, ensuring no one was lurking before swiftly closing it.
‘And here I thought she’d grown up. Maybe Liu Tao’s been rubbing off on her? Those two have been rather close of late. And how did she find out about my feelings for Yan Aoxue? Is it that evident? And what tales has Anna been spinning? My little brother is alive and well!l
Lin Feng, overwhelmed by grievances, closed the door and approached Yan Jie.
“Darling, whether you prefer me to be submissive or dominant, the choice is yours,” Yan Jie cooed, attempting to inch closer to Lin Feng.
Swiftly pushing her away and adjusting her attire, Lin Feng retreated to his seat, sipping tea to calm his rising emotions. “Please, just answer my questions and refrain from such antics.”
Appearing slightly dejected, Yan Jie settled back on her cushion, though she couldn’t resist stretching her legs in his direction. “You know, I’m certain they’ve figured out that you and Liu Mengqi aren’t real sisters. It’s pretty evident,” she hinted slyly.
Lin Feng’s brow furrowed. How did she come across such intimate details? He’d never divulged this to classmates. Though only a handful knew, he’d seen no need to explain unless prompted. But even if the entire class discovered their close bond from childhood, what would it matter?
“Feeling curious?” Yan Jie teased. “Interact more, and you’ll pick up on such subtleties. Liu Mengqi is utterly infatuated with you. Sometimes, I even wonder if you might be a boy, though your features suggest otherwise.” Her gaze then drifted pointedly to Lin Feng’s chest.
Cutting her off, Lin Feng interjected, “That’s beside the point. My main concern is understanding if you harbor any regrets regarding your treatment of Anna.”
Yan Jie laughed dismissively. “Regrets? The very idea is ludicrous. I’ve made my stance clear. If something befalls such a mongrel, why should I care?”
“I’ve heard enough,” Lin Feng declared, rising. “Allow me to escort you back.”
Unable to tolerate Yan Jie’s overt provocations any longer, he opened the door, donning a raincoat for protection.
“That was quick,” she remarked.
“The questioning is concluded. Let’s proceed,” Lin Feng responded.
Yan Jie drew close, pressing herself to him. With a firm expression, Lin Feng guided her toward the storage room, his thoughts crystallizing regarding their recent encounter.
