“Who are you?”

Lin Feng glared at the middle-aged, chubby man who had just patted his rear end and stood up. His irritation was evident. Having another person to assist could have spared him and Anna the prolonged struggle. However, upon sizing up the man’s ample figure, Lin Feng could only let out a sigh. The man’s demeanor of timidity made it clear he wouldn’t have been of much help; how did he even survive for so long?

“Hey~ young lady, no need to be so fierce~”

Hearing the effeminate tone, Lin Feng almost kicked out again in frustration. However, he paused, considering his own appearance, and reluctantly retracted his foot.

“Get lost! Don’t give me that nonsense. You were hiding here while we needed help. Who exactly are you, and why are you on the top floor of the Yan Group’s building?” Lin Feng demanded, his gaze intensely fixed on the plump man.

Seeing Lin Feng’s genuine anger, the fat man glanced fearfully at the lifeless pig corpse on the ground, a wave of fear washing over him.

“Lily is asking you a question, you know. Can you not be straightforward for once?” Anna, her patience worn thin, stepped forward and kicked the man a couple of times. Her recent exertions in the battle rendered her kicks less effective, only leaving shoe prints on his pink woolen pants.

“I’m Pande, an employee of Yan Group. The general manager asked me to find someone and left me here. But who would have thought there’d be a pig demon in that office? You have no idea; I almost got killed by it one day. Luckily, I ran back here and locked the tempered glass door. After it rammed the door once, I hid in a corner, and it didn’t see me, so it just left me alone.”

“So it was you, you damn fool, who locked the door!” Anna exclaimed, delivering another kick out of frustration. She huffed and puffed, too drained to continue scolding the man, and went to sit down for a rest.

“The general manager of the Yan Group?”

“Yes, Yan Heng, the boss. He said that once I found this woman, a helicopter would come to pick me up. He promised me a million for a life of luxury, where I could do whatever I wanted, free from the beatings of those thugs.”

Lin Feng pondered for a moment.

“Were there others besides you who were sent here?”

“It seems there were a few placed in different locations around E City.”

“What idiots.”

Lin Feng quickly realized that these individuals were merely pawns, lured into a deadly scenario. In this environment, killing a person was as inconsequential as killing a dog. Would a businessman really spend a million for one person?

“Who are you supposed to find?”

“This person,” the fat man replied, pulling out a photo from his pocket and handing it to Lin Feng.

“If I had known how dangerous it was here, I wouldn’t have come,” he lamented, patting his backside and preparing to sit down.

Upon seeing the photo, Lin Feng’s hand trembled. He abruptly grabbed the fat man who was about to sit.

“Hey hey~ be gentle, sister.”

“How were you supposed to contact Yan Heng after finding her?”

Confronted by Lin Feng’s menacing blue eyes, the fat man shivered, cold sweat dripping from his forehead.

“A monster…”

With a swift slap to the fat man’s face, Lin Feng drew out an empty handgun and pressed it against the man’s head.

“Speak!”

“A… a satellite phone,” the man stuttered in fear, pulling out a small device from his pocket. Lin Feng quickly snatched the phone and released his grip on the man’s collar.

“Hey, Lily, you okay?” Anna asked, her eyebrows furrowed, concerned about Lin Feng’s behavior.

“I’m fine,” Lin Feng answered, his gaze still fixed on the photo in his hand, showing a person he found both familiar yet unfamiliar.
