“Yan Aoxue,” Lin Feng realized in astonishment, recognizing the person in the photo. So Yan Aoxue’s father was actually seeking out his own daughter? But why did it seem like Yan Aoxue was deliberately avoiding him?

With the resources at the disposal of the Yan Group, finding someone should have been a straightforward task, evident from their unrestricted use of private aircraft. Yet, if Yan Aoxue had wanted to reunite with her father, staying at the school from the outset would have sufficed. The lingering question in Lin Feng’s mind was why Yan Heng waited over a month after the apocalypse to start searching for Yan Aoxue, instead of initiating a rescue at the outset or even a few days into the crisis. A month’s delay seemed uncharacteristically long.

The satellite phone he held was considerably smaller than he remembered, its sleek, high-tech appearance clearly indicating significant value.

“Ah! Isn’t that Yan Aoxue?” Anna approached Lin Feng, looking at the photo in his hand with recognition.

“You know her?” Pande, the chubby man, asked, surprised, as he looked at Anna.

“More than just knowing her; she’s Lin Feng’s heart’s desire,” Anna exclaimed emotionally.

Lin Feng quickly covered Anna’s mouth, preventing her from saying too much.

“Perfect, I’ve already completed my task. Come with me to find her, and I’ll give each of you three hundred thousand,” Pandey offered, looking at Lin Feng who seemed to be the decision-maker. He felt slightly intimidated but hopeful.

Pande internally rejoiced at the thought of easy money. Just by leading them to her, he could earn three hundred thousand. He smiled to himself, thrilled at the thought of completing his task so effortlessly and the luxurious life that awaited him.

“My Lin Feng doesn’t care about your dirty money. We don’t betray our friends! Hmph, not a chance!” Anna retorted, standing with her hands on her hips, ready to confront Pande again.

“Kid, what do you know about these things? What’s your opinion, sister?” Pande turned to Lin Feng, seeking validation.

“I’m not interested. If you really think someone will transfer a million to you, then go find her yourself,” Lin Feng replied dismissively, realizing any more conversation with Pande was pointless. Lin Feng had already extracted all the necessary information from him.

“Let’s go, Anna,” Lin Feng called out, noticing that Anna was still engaged in a verbal altercation with Pande.

Anna stuck out her tongue at Pande and followed Lin Feng, skipping along.

“Hey! Aren’t you tempted by three hundred thousand? How about four hundred?” Pandey shouted, following behind Lin Feng.

—Change of scene—

“I see,” the principal murmured thoughtfully after hearing Hao Jian’s recount, seemingly recalling something from the past.

“I know where there’s an old warplane, a relic from bygone years. I was the one who personally sent it to the museum.”

“Really?” Hao Jian’s eyes sparkled with excitement. This could be the break he was looking for. It was a significant achievement, especially considering that air surveillance would likely be less stringent than ground control. This meant his group could escape the city before any potential destruction occurred.

“However, that plane is quite outdated, and I’m not sure if it can still fly. It might need some extensive repairs by our engineering experts.”

“That’s great news. I’ll pass this information on to Lin Feng, and then we can plan our departure together.”

“Oh, by the way, where is Miss Yan Aoxue? I haven’t seen her since we started talking,” Hao Jian inquired, his interest in her apparent. His concern wasn’t just due to her relationship with Lin Feng, but also because of her peculiar behavior while they were at school.
