Something I struggle with is judging the proper distance between being assertive and being too passive.
Recently one of my friends has repeatedly expressed interest in playing a game with me, but they always end up playing it with other people when the evening comes.
I don’t want to seem like I am pestering them with a follow up to something they said, but at the same time the statement starts to feel rather empty if they don’t follow up on it.
What a weird way to feel…
I’ll forget about this in about an hour anyway until it happens next time, because I am a simple human.
The first of February… I can never spell this month correctly on my first attempt. Ever.
Anyway, I am almost certain that it’s the birthday of someone I know this month…
The problem is I only know the month, not the day.
So that’s going to be uh… fun.
I guess.
I’ll figure it out… yeah.
I did my first Alliance Raid roulette after returning to XIV a few weeks ago now and finishing the story catch up.
I got Paradigm’s Breach. The final nier raid.
I remembered barely any of the mechanics, and died twice in total? Might have been three times actually?
In my defense one time was because I genuinely had no idea what to expect from the mechanic, the other times were just my stupidity.
I’d say that was a good showing on my behalf honestly.
My favourite thing about major Blue Archive content updates is trying to guess which way the app will break for me, and if I will need to do a total reinstall of it again just to get it to work properly.
Currently the app is working without a reinstall, but the video cut-ins for skill usage are broken so I have had to disable them.
So yeah, that’s how my game is going… fun right?
I have reached the final trial of XIV Dawntrail, that is to say the big finale boss…
Which, I am sure would be very exciting if I hadn’t tried to do it at 3am when I was slightly tired…
Because boy did it not go well.
Not only was the waiting time massive, but the mechanics…
And then I had to actually quit because it was just getting so late and we were making no progress.
I guess, by unfortunate luck, we were a bunch of players doing it blind together and I just did not having the capacity to learn all those mechanics.
I will try again tomorrow most likely.
The new GFL2 update is interesting…
It’s kind of hard to invest in the story on its own merits personally, because it’s so broken up into segments for regular releases rather than batches of complete story.
But also, they use cliffhangers way too much.
It really feels like it’s kind of meandering, but it’s still early days, maybe it’ll find its footing.
This chapter was quite a long one actually, even by most web novel standards.
It was just over 2000 words in the end.
I uh, don’t really know why I felt compelled to share that for this ramble but so it is.
Anyway, useless knowledge obtained, you can forget it now and just read the chapter.
I got some mail this week, it was from a friend of mine abroad who does cosplaying.
She sent me a whole bunch of stuff, a postcard, a calendar of her cosplays of my waifu for the year etc etc.
The majority of it was of course quality prints of her cosplays though.
There was a lot of that.
Well, we’ve been friends for years, and I do sometimes chip in to cover the costs of costumes of the characters I really like.
The secret to accessing my bank is that power. I joke.
I had to comfort a rather emotional friend today, it’s been a while since I have had to do that.
It used to be semi-regular.
I guess I just stopped talking to those sort of people at some point?
Not really sure how. Actually I don’t talk to many people outside of my close circle anymore.
That reminds me of how my autism diagnosis thing made a huge deal about how I didn’t perceive the difference between irl and online friends…
I commissioned artwork again.
Yes.
I have no impulse control.
But, I can afford it, so all is good.
Actually being able to afford things is why I have no impulse control.
Turns out when I was younger it wasn’t that I was frugal, it was just that I was poor.
So the schedule says that I am supposed to schedule a chapter of Alchemist Startover for this date…
I somehow feel like I don’t normally do this?
Maybe I am going insane?
Do we usually have chapters on this day or was this a misenter or perhaps it’s an event thing?
Like a new year bonus set or something?
I couldn’t tell you to be honest – I don’t have the foggiest!
The new Nikke event looks pretty good…
If I still played I might even check it out. Wait that makes no sense.
But regardless of the games quality and story, I can’t stand for its business practices, so I’ll never play it.
Instead, I will sell my soul to the other games I play… which are too many currently.
I would choose a game to quit if they weren’t all really good games, or games that I loved.
I will just have to keep juggling my current four and hope no new ones release.
I got reminded that Aldnoah.Zero is getting that random extra episode thing soon…
I forgot about that.
It’s amusing because I had an unprompted rant about how bad the second season was just days ago.
It’s weird how the universe works like that isn’t it?
Maybe I will remember to watch the ova to see if they retcon that garbage ending.
