Wow, that was an experience. It definitely felt like someone’s first web novel, the sense of progression was completely off, and characters dropped in and out without being really developed.
Well, it could have been worse, I kind of liked some of the magic aspects at least, the concept of a city-wide grimoire was cool too.
I’d give it a 5/10 I think, I wouldn’t call it “bad” but it definitely wasn’t really worth watching. I’ve seen worse. Maybe a 4/10 or lower if it wasn’t something I personally enjoyed.

Well, we had caught up – the author has released four more chapters since we stopped translating, it’s just now that the site is catching up.

The translator, blessings be upon them, has already moved on to other work however and dragging them back and forth whenever the author posts a chapter once a month is just a lot of tedium for us to track. So as is our usual MO we will let the source material stockpile for a while and then retake the project – or maybe someone else will take, that’s happened before, who knows.
Personally for me I am just thankful that the number of chapters I have to schedule for one day has reduced from four to three. I don’t mind having a lot of chapters to do in a week but having a lot to do in a day is really time consuming.

Anyway, it’s better than I remembered actually. I guess I didn’t get a strong impression of it before, but it has some unique ideas included honestly.
It makes sense, I quite like it.

Sometimes I wish Magicraft Meister had an anime, but then I remember the scene I most want animated (when the protagonist uses his full arsenal of modern vehicle recreations) is so late into the story the anime would never make it there anyway.
Magicraft Meister has a really slow start, so the first season, or maybe two, would be rather dull I think. Well, they’d be good slice of life stuff, but none of the dramatic events happen until way way later. Which is a shame.

I am hoping this sticks the landing as an anime.
Overall I liked the authors work on Otome Mob a lot more than Evil Lord, despite the concept of the scifi setting be much more appealing, so if the anime manages to make the comedy aspects of Evil Lord carry the show then I will be pleased.
I will enjoy it either way, unless it’s really bad, but I just hope I can enjoy it more.
