Re:Library is old, about a decade old if you count the days before Project Gender Bender. The web design is basically ancient history compared to most modern webnovel sites, but never say an old dog can’t learn new tricks! Re:Library can still get FaNCy~!

I’ve been working on a few updates recently.

#Password-Protected Chapters#

Previously, paid members got early access through Google Drive, which often drew readers away from the site. With the new system, new subscribers will now receive the passwords via Google Sheet to unlock early access directly on the site. This change should help drive more traffic back to Re:Library.

#Font Resizer#

By request, we’ve added a font resizer to improve accessibility. Some readers, especially those with weaker eyesight, found the text too small, so now you can adjust the body text size to your preference.

#Cloudflare security challenge#

Visiting our translation pages will now trigger a managed challenge from Cloudflare. Once you pass it, a bypass key will keep you verified for about a month before requiring renewal. This adds an extra layer of security to protect the site.

#Caching improvements#

Separately, I’ve updated our caching rules. Thanks to these tweaks, the site should now load blazing fast for logged-out visitors.

#Improved Index Pages#

Finally, I reworked the novel index on the Translations and Originals pages. The new fancy index makes it much easier to find series at a glance, complete with a built-in search function.

#Chapter Listings Upgrade#

Last but not least, the chapter listings have been upgraded! No more looking enviously at other webnovel sites with sleek interfaces, we now have our own custom-built listing system. You can even sort chapters from newest to oldest (or vice versa). Convenient, right?

#Discord widget#

We’ve had some complaints that many readers didn’t even know we had a Discord server, and that the Discord button was too small to notice. At first, I added the official Discord widget to the sidebar, but it turned out to be annoying, it displayed the member list and had an embedded scroll, which made it frustrating on mobile since you’d end up scrolling the widget instead of the page. So I reworked it into a more compact, streamlined version that’s mobile-friendly and easy to spot.
