「It won’t necessarily have an immediate impact on your peace. However, Miss Ailneige, it has now become difficult for me to tacitly ignore you.」
「Isn’t that no different from our current arrangement?」
「That may be the case, but in case the worst comes to fruition, would it be possible for us to have a more casual acquaintanceship instead of mutual non-interference?」
「What do you mean by ‘the worst’?」

This is probably the reason why she had her servants leave. Servants of the royal family or not, this is something she can only speak of to Fiiyanamia’s daughter, Cielmer.
It’s unlikely to be anything good, but it’s not like we can ignore this, and Princess Leshimiiya isn’t really at fault for being the messenger. Such an unfortunate position to be in.

「I do not know when and how it will occur, but the destruction of Ausente has been prophesied.」

It seems like there actually are Jobs that can see the future, maybe Prophet or Astrologer? They’re probably rare to find, but I already suspected their existence.
That aside, while Princess Leshimiiya spoke with an extremely grave tone—well, it is actually a grave matter—Ciel, as though she couldn’t care any less, responded with a casual,「And so?」
This response likely came from her confidence that even if Ausente is destroyed, we should be able to save ourselves.
Well, even if a meteorite happens to crash into Ausente, we would probably be able to endure it and escape by ourselves.

Actually, wouldn’t the average country be wiped out if several Stratum 90-and-above monsters showed up nearby?
Khyturi from the deepest stratum alone would probably be capable of leveling several countries with ease. And threats of that level have no way of making a dent on us.
Though with Tur, it’s not like we can put a dent on him either.

Ciel’s nonchalant response had Princess Leshimiiya slightly surprised, but she picked herself back up and continued the discussion.

「While we only learned of this recently, we were already expecting the occurrence of great calamity in my lifetime.
As such, this prophecy was not as big of a surprise to the royal family as it may sound.」
「Why were you already expecting it?」
「It is because an individual possessing the “Hero” Job appeared within Ausente.」
「I see, that boy who had more magic power than nobles, right?」
「You know of him?」
「He stood out, after all.」

Hearing that, Princess Leshimiiya let out a troubled sigh.
Perhaps due to the uniqueness of the “Hero” Job, it frequently appeared in the books at the Rispelgia mansion.
Many of them were picture books and novels that prominently starred heroes, so I’m sure it’s a memorable Job for Ciel. After all, she even imitated the contents of such books to encourage me in the past.
Back to the “Hero,” it’s said that whenever a major disaster is around the corner, they appear.

In a nutshell, whenever an extremely strong monster appears, individuals possessing the Hero Job will also appear.
Putting it the other way around, when someone with the Hero Job appears, a powerful monster will come within their lifetime—likely when they’re close to reaching their prime—and stand in their way.

The go-to monsters in stories tend to be dragons.

While probably not as powerful as Tur, the average dragon is far stronger than a wyvern, meaning that they are likely difficult for regular humans to harm.
If a monster like that appears, then any country, regardless of size, would likely see destruction.

Fortunately, the kingdom of Ausente successfully found their “Hero” before their monster appeared.
He certainly is a cut or two above his peers, so as long as he continues to grow, I’m sure he’ll be among the strongest in this world.

「I’ve advised him to avoid acting the part to avoid exposure, but it seems that it was a tall order to uphold.」
「So you’ve already come into contact with him?」
「We’ve made preemptive measures since the discernment of his Job.」
「Considering that, he seems quite unrestricted.」

With the rarity of the Hero Job, I assumed that it would be imperative to shelter the boy in their castle and train him.

「We have limited our interaction with him to the bare minimum. If Ausente were to interfere with him excessively or attempt to restrict his freedoms, he may not wish to protect Ausente at all, and it would risk him considering the royal family an enemy.」
「Did you call me here to ask me to protect this country with the hero when the calamity comes?」

While the existence of the hero was a surprise, Ciel returned to the topic of why we were called here. Princess Leshimiiya shook her head and answered,「No,」before providing a more elaborate response.

「It is to inform you about this worst-case scenario. If we kept the news of a great monster to ourselves and you ended up getting dragged into the ensuing chaos, we would then have to contend not only with the great threat but with Central as well.
If that happens, it will truly be the end of Ausente.」
『In short, she’s telling us to run when it happens?』
『For a more open interpretation, she’s telling us to take charge of our own safety. We can stay, but they won’t be taking responsibility for the consequences.』
『Well, that’s just normal.』
『That’s true.』

Not only did she not ask for our help, she even provided us information, so I have nothing to complain about.
Still, there is something that doesn’t add up but pressing for answers would probably bore a hole through the princess’ stomach, so I’ll just inform Ciel of the possibility later.
In exchange, there is one thing I want to ask about, so I asked Ciel to switch.

「Regarding our relationship, I will accept the previous explanation as a passable reason.」
「I would greatly appreciate that.」

I won’t put pressure on her, but I alluded to the fact that I know her hidden motive.

「Incidentally, Princess Leshimiiya, do you know of a place within Ausente—within the second academy’s premises, if possible—that’s hidden from the public eye?」
「In that case, there is one place that comes to mind.」

I was hoping that the princess might know some place where I could play with the spirits, and she gave a surprisingly positive response.
She has an astonished look on her face, so I’m sure she’s wondering why I asked that, but she quickly picked herself up and continued her answer.

And that ends our chapter for this week! With that, the ordeal has finally ended for Princess Leshy… I think…

Still, interesting to know that our random protagonist-y side character from the previous chapters actually ended up being a sort of protagonist of a different story. He even came with his own tsundere(?) elf!… Or so I assume, since the elf girl did blush one time, but that might have been just her turning red from anger. Who knows? But yeah, calamity on the way, it seems!
