「Miss Ailneige, you stepped inside even with knowledge of that?」
「I don’t think you’d pick a fight with Central, after all.」
「Yes, of course. I understand that our current arrangement is thanks to concessions on your end.」

Aristocrat conversations are annoying. Princess Leshimiiya should already be aware that Ailneige isn’t good with these kinds of exchanges.
Still, I suppose she can’t be too direct with all her servants watching.

「Incidentally, Miss Ailneige, have you decided what classes you will be undertaking?」
「I’ve decided on several from the hunter and sorcery programs.」
「I believe that you should already have ample experience as a hunter, but…」
「I was generally self-taught, you see? So I was thinking that it would be beneficial to start over from the basics.」
「Is that so? Miss Ailneige, what work and activities have you been doing up until now?」

How do I say this? This really is turning out to be a casual chat.
While Ciel is taking care not to say anything conclusive, she’s speaking without much caution.
As the conversation continued, while we learned that the princess is trying to take all the classes she can, I don’t think either of us gained any valuable information from each other.
Still, the princess at least appears to be enjoying the conversation, and she was surprisingly attentive whenever Ciel talked about hunter stuff.

As I was starting to think that we might just end things here, the princess tightened her expression.

「Forgive me, Miss Ailneige, but from here on out, may I have a conversation with only you alone?」
「Are you implying that Mia’s presence is unwanted?」
「My servants’ presence, as well.」
『What should we do?』
『I don’t really mind it, and Mia likely won’t have any complaint, but will Princess Leshimiiya’s entourage agree with it?』
『True. It would be troublesome if, after having Mia leave, her people secretly stayed behind.
Ain, can I leave the checking to you?』
『Understood.』

With the use of sorcery obstructed here, it seems like Ciel is having difficulty with detection sorcery.
I’m also having difficulty maintaining my usual accuracy without deliberate focus, so it’s only natural.
Ciel nodded at Mia before turning to the princess.

「I don’t mind, but are you sure you meant what you said?」
「… Of course. Everyone, please leave.」

She seemingly took a moment to think; was it because she took Ciel’s words as a warning, or is there some other reason?
Either way, after answering Ciel’s question, the princess immediately issued instructions.

The maid who was by the princess’ side seemed reluctant to leave, but perhaps unwilling to go against her lady, she left the room, and I immediately checked the surroundings with detection.

While her servants did leave, those that were not… Or so I suspected, but it seems like there wasn’t anyone else in hiding, and she genuinely did want to be alone with Ailneige.
After confirming that all the servants had left the room, the princess let out a conflicted, relieved yet also nervous, sigh.

「Now whatever happens within this room from here on will only be privy to me and Miss Ailneige.」
「I’m impressed they even allowed this, princess.」
「I did make thorough preparations to receive permission. While I don’t know how effective it will be against you, it was enough to persuade my servants.」
「In other words, the sorceric tool in this room does not affect you, does it?」
「No, I currently can’t use sorcery inside this room either. However, I have prepared a special sorceric tool that I can use.」
『Ain, did you notice it?』
『I did notice what could be a magic core.』

I ignored it since I assumed it was necessary for operating the room’s sorceric tool, but it seems like I was wrong.
While I may excel in detecting magic power, I don’t really go out of the way to investigate inactive sorceric tools.
Honestly, even with active sorceric tools, I can only vaguely guess their purpose; it’s not like I can determine their function with any certainty.
Setting aside my presence, I can understand how she was able to be alone with Ciel.

「So they only allowed us to be alone since I can’t use sorcery while the princess has a sorceric tool for self-protection?」
「Yes, that’s what everyone believes.」
「In other words, you don’t believe that to be the case?」

Since she casually revealed the available tools she had, I thought this would be the end of all the meandering, but Princess Leshimiiya once again replied with an insinuative answer.
This one shouldn’t be hard to figure out, but why is she doing this?
In response to Ciel’s question, Princess Leshimiiya shook her head with a troubled look.

「I will leave you to decide what I believe to be the case.」
『What does she mean by that?』
『…Ah, I see. Our conversation will likely go smoother if the princess knows that we can still use sorcery.
In short, Princess Leshimiiya seems to be all but convinced that Ailneige is a powerful individual and is likely Cielmer. In addition to that, I believe the princess wants us to choose how much she may know about us.』

In other words, she’s asking if it’s alright to speak as if Ailneige being Cielmer is an open secret between us or not.
Even if this leaks out, as long as only a few know about it and they won’t bother us, it’s not a problem.
Rather, if we persist in acting as a regular denizen, it’ll probably influence the content of our conversation.

「Right. As you have noticed, I can utilize sorcery even within this area.」
「So that truly is the case. Forgive me for taking such a roundabout method.」
「I don’t mind. You have kept to your word as promised, after all.」

Princess Leshimiiya’s face stiffened upon hearing Ciel’s response. Barely making any effort to hide our identity, 「However, you invited me knowing the consequences, correct?」 Ciel put further pressure on her.

And that ends this week’s chapter! It’s alone time with the monster now, Princess Leshy! You can do it!

I really like how we can see the difference between how Ain and Ciel handles things. Ain will go the roundabout way of trying to avoid problems while Ciel could not care less. Poor Princess Leshy has to go through this again, but this time only faster because Ciel isn’t as good as being amicable as Ain. It was also nice to see in the short while that they were chatting normally how the Princess seems really interested in hunters as well. Really brings out a child-like wonder that’s befitting for her age.

Now then, I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Please feel free to comment. Stay healthy, stay safe, and have a nice day~!
