Nina still didn’t come back, and Nancy had no idea where she had gone this night.

Maybe she went to Su Xiaoyu’s house? Nancy couldn’t help but think of that seemingly innocent cat-eared youth.

But what did it matter anyway? It didn’t matter.

Embracing Jenna, the night passed without words.

………………

Sherry’s family lived at the border of Philo Street and the central urban area, commonly known as the shantytown. Her father, Jason, and mother, Lisa, ran a small grocery store in the shantytown, barely making ends meet.

Sherry was not actually Jason’s biological daughter. Eighteen years ago, one night after their store had closed, someone knocked on the door. When Jason and his wife opened the door, they didn’t see anyone outside but found an old, dilapidated baby carriage with a sleeping baby girl inside. Despite being in their thirties and still childless, Jason and his wife, without much consideration, adopted the baby girl and named her Sherry.

At the beginning of this change in the family, everything was fine. Although Jason and Lisa were not wealthy, after saving for most of their lives, they could still afford to raise Sherry as their own daughter. Sherry enjoyed normal parental love from both of them, and this continued until she was six years old.

But when Sherry turned six, everything changed. Due to the chaotic environment in the shantytown, Jason accidentally became addicted to drugs. Shortly afterward, Lisa was also forced to join him in drug use. After a crazy night, Lisa became pregnant and eventually gave birth to a baby boy, whom they named Brian.

Even after Brian was born, Jason and Lisa did not stop using drugs. Their once supermarket-sized grocery store was squandered by the two of them, and finally, Jason was forced to mortgage the ancestral land and property left by his parents in the countryside to continue supporting himself and Lisa while they continued their drug use.

At the same time, the birth of their biological child inevitably led to a decrease in Jason and Lisa’s love for Sherry. Combined with the dual pressure of drugs on their bodies and family, the love and care disappeared under the erosion of bags of drugs, gradually turning the once beautiful act of raising a child into moral coercion.

At just six years old, Sherry was forced to sell the inventory of the grocery store alone on the streets, enduring ridicule and ill intentions from the outside world. When she returned home, she did not receive the love of her drug-addicted parents, but rather faced Jason’s domestic violence and Lisa’s complaints. Meanwhile, Brian, still in Lisa’s arms, drank the milk bought with the money Sherry earned from working, curiously watching his sister with half of her face reddened by domestic violence.

In this way, Sherry grew up in extreme domestic violence until today, until she was admitted to Roland High School with high grades. Considering Sherry’s family background, the school exempted her from all tuition fees and included her in the top student support program.

On the field, boys from the soccer team were running and sweating. Jenna took a deep breath, then looked at the snow-haired girl in front of her:

“Hasn’t she ever thought of fighting back?”

Nancy remained silent. Rebellion, of course, there had been rebellion. Sherry’s admission to Roland High School with such high grades was this poor girl’s rebellion against her family.

Jason and Lisa, addicted to drugs, evolved into drug traffickers. While this provided them with funds for their drug habits and even improved their standard of living, it prolonged Sherry’s nightmare.

Six years of good familial affection could not withstand eleven years of estrangement, especially with the birth of their biological son Brian and the mental torture from drugs. Jason and Lisa no longer regarded Sherry as their daughter.

They not only forced Sherry to work to support their family but also made her help them smuggle drugs into the school. Every time, Sherry would refuse to be an accomplice to their cruelty, only to be met with abuse from her father and her brother.

“Abuse?” Jenna was slightly stunned. She thought back to what Nancy had once confessed to her about the things Nanshan had done to her, but even that didn’t compare to…

“That’s right. Jason and Brian teamed up to abuse Sherry, and Jason even resorted to drugs.” Nancy gently uttered these words, looking towards the girl sitting not far away, lost in thought while holding a guitar on the edge of the field.

Brian is a product of tragedy and hatred combined, a child who grew up in the atmosphere of that time, undoubtedly with a disturbed mind.

He harbors the purest and wildest desires for his own sister. While this is undoubtedly related to Sherry’s extraordinary appearance, it also stems from his disturbed mind and the sick, twisted mentality that imagines subduing his sister, watching her cry and beg for mercy.

His father, Jason, also has highly abnormal feelings towards Sherry. This is primarily due to the long-term effects of drugs and his wife’s aging. Even though Sherry has moved into the school dormitory, he still forcibly commands her to return home to live.

“Then, is Sherry…” Jenna stuck out her tongue, wondering if something had happened to her…

“Sherry, she’s a girl who knows how to protect herself,” Nancy knew what Jenna wanted to say and shook her head.

“Just like you, who used to run around barefoot in the Philo district,” Nancy added.

“Hehe, Boss is the best,” Jenna stuck out her tongue again and expressed her desire to hear the continuation of the story.

Due to various pressures, Sherry was forced to borrow a large amount of debt, and the amount was not small.

If it were the original plotline, last night, Su Xiaoyu would have come out as the hero, solving all of Sherry’s problems along the way and winning her heart.

But now, because of her existence… Su Xiaoyu, this useless thing, might as well go die.

“Nancy?”

A girl’s soft call brought Jenna and Nancy, who were immersed in their own thoughts, back to reality. They looked up to see Sherry holding a guitar.

“Nancy… can I call you like that?” Sherry looked a bit nervous, seeming timid.

“Of course you can,” Nancy smiled and stood up. “Sherry, do you need something from me?”

“Um… can we have lunch together?” Sherry asked, lowering her head timidly, as if afraid of rejection.

“Oh, just that? Naturally,” Nancy said, reaching for the bag in Jenna’s arms. Inside was Jenna’s meal card.

Jenna: …

Well, today Nancy had sneaked into Roland High School. She definitely didn’t bring any meal cards. Moreover, being expelled, her meal card was useless anyway.

After all, Roland High School doesn’t have such regulations. Haven’t you seen Su Xiaoyu and Su Ranran carrying weapons to and from school? That’s the charm of a city full of supernatural abilities.

“But it’s time for PE class now…” Jenna glanced at the PE teacher chatting with other teachers on the edge of the field, scratching her head.

“Shall we go eat now?”

“PE class? How many teachers does she have?” Nancy rolled her eyes at Jenna and snatched the meal card from her hand.

Jenna: ???

……………………

Drip… drip…

Liquid dripped onto the floor, leaving a chilling blood-red stain.

Creak… creak…

Shoes stepped on the wooden boards, producing a piercing sound.

Despite her neck being torn, it didn’t stop her eyes from moving. The cracked lips of the pale corpse twitched:

“Chachapachacha chakachaka chichichichi, and it split apart… Heart in the right hand, intestines in the left hand, head placed down, liver set aside. Mary picks up the blue eyeballs and gazes at them. Chichichichit chakachaka guguguguguchi guguguguguchi, and it split apart… Lungs in the right hand, kidneys in the left, tongue set down, nose placed aside…”1
