“Sss…”

It was the sound of fabric tearing. Sherry, still somewhat dazed, raised her head to see Nancy had already torn a sleeve off her own school uniform.

Just as Sherry was wondering what Nancy was up to, she watched the snow-haired girl approach expressionlessly, using the torn strip of fabric to bandage the wound on her leg.

Before Nancy showed up, those people had already beat up Sherry. The wound on her leg was a thug’s doing with a knife, a long but shallow cut, running from her ankle to her knee.

“No… it’s not necessary…” Though she was belatedly feeling the pain, Sherry still instinctively recoiled, softly murmuring.

“Hmm?” Hearing Sherry’s words, Nancy paused in her actions, squinting at the disheveled girl before her.

“The school uniform… is precious… I…” Sherry hinted towards the strip of fabric in Nancy’s hand, implying: the school uniform is precious, I don’t deserve to use it for bandaging.

“Do you want your life or the school uniform?” Nancy asked expressionlessly, then swiftly bandaged Sherry’s wound.

“You actually need the bandaging more…” Sherry bit her lip lightly, looking at Nancy’s hand, which was already stained red with blood, and whispered softly.

“Fine, but I can’t afford to tear off the other sleeve.” Nancy shook her head to herself. Actually, anyone with knowledge could see that her injury was minor. It was Sherry’s wound that was more difficult to handle and more prone to infection, requiring bandaging.

“Can you walk?” After tending to Sherry’s wounds, Nancy half knelt, looking into the eyes of the girl sitting in front of her.

“I can…”

The girl replied softly, perhaps wanting to prove to Nancy, she reached out to grab the nearby utility pole to stand up. However, the result was only a slight shift of her body by a centimeter and an instinctive gasp for breath.

“…”. Seeing this scene, Nancy already understood that Sherry was pretending. Without hesitation, she stepped forward and lifted Sherry, walking towards the exit of the alley.

“Ugh…” Sherry didn’t resist. Instead, she buried her head in Nancy’s hair. After a moment, Nancy felt a warm stream of tears against her ear.

Those were the girl’s tears, she was crying.

Nancy didn’t know what to say. She wasn’t the type to comfort others. However, Nancy suddenly remembered the first time she stood up for her sister and comforted her after scolding those who bullied her.1

“It’s okay, the bad guys have been scared off by me.” Nancy turned slightly and rubbed her cheek against Sherry’s face.

“Thank you… Nancy.” Sherry’s slightly choked whisper reached Nancy’s ears accurately at this distance.

“Thank you… If it weren’t for you tonight, I don’t know what would have happened… sniff…”

Perhaps truly frightened, the girl on her back started sobbing again.

Nancy remained silent. All she could say was that the original storyline of this world had been completely changed by her little butterfly effect.

According to the original plot, Sherry would have lost her virginity tonight and then been discovered by the protagonist, Su Xiaoyu, the next day.2

Then came the classic plot of beating up the bullies. Su Xiaoyu would retaliate against these people tooth and nail, resolving Sherry’s family problems and capturing her heart in the process.

But now, Su Xiaoyu was nowhere to be found. This scene had been unexpectedly taken over by Nancy.

But… screw the plot. She’ll do whatever she wants.

“Sherry, why don’t you stay at my place tonight? How about it?” Nancy continued rubbing her face against Sherry’s, unable to use her hands, so she had to attract Sherry’s attention this way.

“Um…” The reply sounded like a kitten’s meow, making Nancy inexplicably tickled. Without thinking much, she waved down a taxi with her hand.

…………………………

Because they stopped at a clinic halfway to treat Sherry’s injuries, they lost a lot of time.

By the time Nancy brought Sherry back to her nest, it was already around the time she usually returned home after work.

“Boss! Why are you back so late today?”

Hearing the sound of keys opening the door, the orange-haired girl playing on the sofa didn’t even lift her head to speak.

Jenna is back? Nancy was slightly stunned, but then she didn’t dwell on it. It had been emphasized earlier that Jenna had a key to her place.

Listening carefully to the footsteps, Jenna suddenly felt that the number of people entering the house seemed a bit off. Jenna raised her head in confusion and immediately noticed the girl behind Nancy wearing her school uniform.

“Sherry? Boss, why did you bring her home?” Jenna’s internal alarm bells rang inexplicably as she asked.

“I encountered something on the way. I’ll explain it to you later.” Nancy said, having already changed into slippers. She glanced back at the girl who was tightly holding onto her clothes, then turned again, “Anyway, Sherry will stay here tonight. Let’s tidy up the place.”

“But… there’s not enough space to sleep.” Jenna said, getting up nonetheless. Nancy’s home only had one large bed. Perhaps it could accommodate two adults comfortably, but sleeping three people would be a bit cramped.

“We’ll sleep on the floor, won’t we?” Nancy rolled her eyes impatiently at Jenna and used her eyes to gesture towards Sherry’s injured foot.

“You and I will sleep on the floor. Sherry has an injury, so let her sleep on the bed.” Nancy thought for a moment and suggested.
“Okay!” Hearing that she would sleep alone with the boss, Jenna immediately dispelled any reluctance and put down her phone, ready to work.

Suddenly, Nancy noticed something. It seemed like there was someone missing from the house. Where did Nina go?

After a moment of surprise, Nancy turned to Jenna for answers. The latter replied that she hadn’t seen Nina when she returned.

“Boss, do you think Nina will be okay alone outside? Should I go look for her?” Jenna hesitated.

Nancy thought for a moment before vetoing, “Forget about her. I just scolded her earlier, who knows where she’s gone off in a huff.”

Although the Philo District wasn’t peaceful, with Nina being the heroine, what could possibly happen to her? Nancy felt it was the malicious villains like them who should be more concerned about their safety.

“Sherry, you rest well tonight. We’ll talk more tomorrow when we wake up.” Nancy turned back to Sherry, who looked timid, and softened her tone.

“Okay.” Sherry nodded, then belatedly let go of Nancy’s clothes.

The floor was quickly prepared. After Nancy led Sherry into the bedroom, she and Jenna quickly changed into pajamas and slipped under the covers on the floor.

“Hehehe… Boss…” Jenna hugged Nancy under the bed cover, only to be randomly pushed away by the latter.

However, with Jenna’s relentless efforts, she eventually succeeded in snuggling up to Nancy’s body, unwilling to let go of the beautiful girl’s figure.

“Boss, what’s wrong with Sherry? Can you tell me?” Jenna sniffed the faint fragrance from Nancy’s hair and whispered softly.

“…Promise me first that you won’t act rashly after hearing it.” Nancy said helplessly.

Footnotes:

  1. Silva: Is this talking about past life? It probably is..
  2. Silva: Wtf… author, you just mentioned she would only get a beating and not lose an arm in the original setting..

I’m changing arm to virginity because that sounds more likely and do not contrast with previous statement.
