Zane raised the Crimson Flame Staff and smacked it down on a Club-Wielding Goblin—a massive damage number popped up instantly. The goblin’s 500 HP was nearly wiped out in one hit, leaving just a sliver. Endless Sea stepped up to finish it off.

He muttered, speechless, “You’re smacking things with a Rare staff… what a waste of gear. Seriously though—you still haven’t picked a class!?”
“Uhh… I’ve been struggling to decide which one to go with.”
“Bruh—you’re telling me that even unclassed, you hit this hard just swinging a staff?!” Endless Sea looked genuinely shaken.
Not just him—the other four teammates were equally speechless.
“If you tell me you’re not hacking, Zanny, I honestly won’t believe it,” Wanderer said flatly.
“Pfft, my damage’s not even that crazy. Look—check out Starry’s.”
Everyone turned their eyes with curiosity… only to see a terrifying number.

The Club-Wielding Goblin didn’t even last one slash before it collapsed!
“So this is what high-end players look like… I’m in awe,” Nangong sighed in admiration.
“Then what the hell were we grinding like crazy for…?” Snowy said with a defeated look.
“Endless Sea! You know the drill!” Zane called out.
“Oh! Time for efficient farming again? Now I’m fired up!” Endless Sea responded with enthusiasm.
“Everyone stay close—we’re charging in!” Zane shouted.
While the four lower-level players were still dazed, Starry had already flanked left, while Zane and Endless Sea went right. Pulling mobs? Nah—they just dove straight into the fight. It was just like the Blood Bat hunts before—but this time, their stats were overwhelming. No more hesitation—just full-on steamrolling.

Another Club-Wielding Goblin dropped under Starry’s Autumn Moon Sword. Meanwhile, Zane and Endless Sea together could easily bring down one as well. But due to the attack speed limitations of the Crimson Flame Staff and Fractured Hammer, their kill rate still lagged behind Starry’s.
“Stardust’s so much faster than us… Emberveil, transform into the Gray Wolf again! Let me ride you—I wanna try that wolf knight life~” Sea said with a suggestive grin.
“Get lost, you freak!”
…
They kept charging forward at breakneck pace, drawing gasps and chatter from random passersby. Some even recorded videos and snapped photos. Zane didn’t bother with them—not that he could stop them if he wanted to.
Unfortunately, now that they were farming Level 12 mobs, the experience gains had already dropped significantly. Zane and Starry barely got any EXP at this point, but the four behind them had already climbed back up to Level 12.
It had only been half an hour, and they had already pushed into the territory of the Spear-Wielding Goblins. If memory served, just ahead was the Goblin Chieftain Lordsey’s encampment.
…
Inside the command tent, Lordsey’s expression darkened as news came in of the advancing adventurers.
“Damn it. We couldn’t even hold out for a day?” He called over one of the Spear-Wielding Goblins. “Take her away. I’ll stay behind and hold them off.”
“But, Chieftain… So far we’ve only captured one. The others won’t be satisfied with that… And besides, you’re the heart of the Greenrock Goblins! If anyone should stay, it’s us!”
“Enough. Most adventurers pose no threat. But if it’s those two… I’ve fought them before. You can’t stop them. Get ready and move out, now!”
“…Yes, Chieftain!”
“You’re just going off to die, aren’t you?” YoyoPink said suddenly.
“Heh. Weren’t you the one who called me the strongest?” Lordsey gave a confident smile. “If I wanted to die, it wouldn’t be that easy.”
…
“Starry and I scouted ahead earlier. The Goblin stronghold is guarded by a Level 20 Epic-tier boss—extremely powerful. He’s the chieftain of all these goblins,” Zane explained.
“A Level 20 Epic-tier boss?” Endless Sea immediately thought of the Blood Bat King from the day before. That had been intense enough to rattle him to the core.
“An Epic boss? I haven’t even seen a single Rare boss yet…” Nangong muttered, stunned.
Wanderer was silent for a moment, then spoke. “Zanny, I’m gonna sit this boss out. I’ve barely contributed this whole time. I’d just be dead weight if I stayed, and I’d probably get one-shot by the boss anyway. Plus, I’ve already collected most of the goblin pelts—I’ll head back and turn them in.”
Zane, of course, understood the unspoken meaning—he didn’t want to be a burden.
“I’m heading back too,” Snowy added immediately after.
“Huh? Snowy, you’re not staying either?” Zaria was surprised, but then her expression suddenly changed—she must’ve received a private message. “Well then, I’ll head back too!”
“Aw, come on! If all of you are leaving, I’ll feel bad sticking around just for the EXP… might as well go too,” Nangong said.
Before Zane could get a word in, all four of them crushed their Return Scrolls and vanished.
“Wow, your friends are real saints. If it were me, I’d have leeched every drop out of you!” Endless Sea said in genuine amazement.
Zane slowly raised a middle finger in reply.
He couldn’t blame them—this was just who they were. Back when they played together, they were always the first to grind monsters, competing for top DPS. This kind of reversal probably made them feel uncomfortable.
Still, he knew they’d try to improve on their own. And his role? Quietly support them from behind.
“Sea, how much HP and defense do you have now?” Starry asked.
“2,900 HP, 45 defense. Why?”
“Whether we can take this boss down or not… depends on you.”
“Don’t say that, Stardust—you’re giving me a panic attack.”
As they talked, a drifting leaf seemed to hit something midair and momentarily hovered… then fell to the ground again.
…
Good thing they had saved the boss’ attributes panel from earlier. After looking at it, Endless Sea’s jaw dropped. “How the hell are we supposed to fight this?! Over a hundred base attack! And it’s got 20,000 HP! I’m only Level 13—I’ll get crushed by level suppression alone!”
“Don’t worry. Our plan is…” Starry began.
“Oh, I see… wait, what?! You’re making Emberveil tank?! He hasn’t even picked a class yet! What if he gets one-shotted?”
“Relax. I can turn into more than just a Gray Wolf,” Zane said confidently.
Shapeshift!
“Well? What do you think!?” Zane stood with hands on hips, proudly puffing up his chest—in the form of a blonde-haired, emerald-eyed little girl.
“…” Endless Sea stared in silence, then shook his head in regret. “I should’ve known pulling an all-nighter would mess with my brain. Hallucinating already… Emberveil turned into a blonde loli? What is this, a fever dream?”
“Don’t believe me? Watch—Revert!”
Zane transformed back into his original form.
…
While clearing mobs, Endless Sea wore the dead-eyed expression of a man whose dreams had been shattered. To discover that such a cute little girl was actually a guy in disguise… it was truly soul-crushing.
“So it really was you two…” Lordsey’s voice rang out, filled with natural authority.
“Sea, heads up—that’s the boss!” Starry warned.
“Got it!” Endless Sea knew better than to joke around now. Time to focus.
‘Let me take over.’ Starry’s consciousness stirred to life.
‘Starry? You’re awake?’
‘Mm. Still a little tired, but I’ve mostly recovered.’
‘That’s great! With you back, this fight’s basically a guaranteed win. Let me fill you in on the boss—’
‘No need. I’ve already got the gist of it.’
‘Huh?’
Starry took a step forward and locked eyes with Lordsey. “So you came back just to die?”
“The only ones dying here… are you!” Lordsey roared.
Fivefold Throw!
Fifteen jagged stones, lined up in parallel rows, surged forward with overwhelming force!
But Starry didn’t dodge—because—
Invoke: Blazing Fire!
A wall of flames burst up in front of her, incinerating the incoming projectiles midair. Suddenly, Lordsey pulled out an explosive—
‘A repeat of his old trick!? No chance!’ With a flick of a wrist, the fire wall dissipated on command.
Invoke: Frost!
A chill swept through the air, and the explosive fizzled out, useless.
“Sea, what are you doing standing there? Get in there already!” The golden-haired little girl shouted energetically.
