Lunch that day was incredibly lively.

The six of us from the day before were joined by three of the most senior students and Jessica’s younger sister, Janice, who was in the third level. Including me, there were 11 of us in total—more than half the girls in the school had gathered.

Regardless, it was right to say that Mama Sonia’s lunch was as amazing as always. Today, she had prepared baguette sandwiches with thick-cut bacon and fluffy eggs.

The salty baguette paired perfectly with the savory bacon and the gentle sweetness of the eggs—it was a flawless combination. As I chewed my baguette with pure joy, I couldn’t help but think,

(Ahh, Mama Sonia! Why are you always so spot-on with what I love?)

“You look happy, Su. Is it good?” Mia asked with a smile.

“Yes! Delicious! Delicious… is… happiness!”
“Would you like to try this then?”

Mia said, sticking out her fork, which had a mouthful of intestine meat. It was apparently the Matheson family’s special lamb sausage. Something that Mia’s grandmother had made. According to Mia, the secret behind the sausage was the combination of the herbs, salt, and spices that were mixed with the meat.

“Yes! Aaaam!” I took a bite of the sausage that Mia offered me.

The moment I bit through the lamb sausage, the flavor of the meat and the aroma of the herbs exploded in my mouth.

(Ahhh! Ooh! Mmmm!)

The intense flavor sent a tingle to the base of my jaw and made the area just in front of my ears buzz!

(T-This is it! This taste can make one’s cheeks melt!)

Without thinking, I held my cheeks with both hands and flailed with delight. Mia, looking pleased, asked quite an obvious question,

“Is it good, Su?”

(What are you asking? Of course, it’s good! But I guess I should tell her that.)

“It’s… good!”

Mia’s face lit up even more at my response, and Cara, who had been watching with a surprised expression, suddenly chimed in.

“Su, Su! I’ll give you this! Give it a taste! Here, say aah!”

She said, holding out a thick slice of bologna sausage.

Gratefully, I took a bite of it. This too was super delicious and made me melt.

That was all it took to start a trend. One by one, everyone began offering me bits of their food to try. Each bite was incredible, and I couldn’t be happier. But then it hit me.

(Wait a minute! Isn’t this the same as when children are feeding small animals?! Did I really become everyone’s favorite pet?!)

◇◇◇

Jessica joined us for the afternoon class.

Meanwhile, Cara and Alicia were busy mentoring the underclassmen in the training hall. I mentioned that I wanted to make another contract today, but Corin told me it wasn’t possible.

She explained that anyone with multiple affinities would drain their etheric body significantly when forming contracts and would then need to wait until it was recovered before trying to form a new one.

Normally, this recovery could take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months—or even up to six months in some cases.

“But wait, you’re not normal to begin with! Why not try it then?” Bibi said.

(What a thing to say! Good grief, this child! She’s so rude!)

After being asked what was the next attribute I wanted, I chose fire. Without hesitation, Bibi brought out a case containing a floating red light. She then set it on the Five Spirit Board.

If I placed my hand on the board and it reacted, that would mean that my etheric body had recovered, so Bibi looked at me and told me to place it, and so I did. Just like yesterday, the board lit up faintly.

Bibi exclaimed, “It really did react!”

Everyone else in the room froze, wide-eyed and speechless.

(Will you all stop reacting like that? Hearing it so often is really starting to make me uncomfortable, you know?)

I asked if I could sign the contract today, but Bibi said that I couldn’t because neither Sir Henry nor the priest was here today.

However, Jessica then raised her hand and said, “I’m a priestess apprentice. I can do it.”

Jessica was a Healing Magic user and had studied to become a priestess, so she was qualified to handle the initial contract process.

Seizing the opportunity, I asked to form a contract with the fire attribute. When I mentioned to Jessica that I could still sign three more contracts, she was taken aback and her eyes went wide with surprise, but she only took a moment to recover herself and said in a casual manner, “In that case, why don’t we do this ceremony every day? I have the time.”

My contract with the Fire Spirit was completed in no time. Wanting to test it out, I was about to head outside when Corin, Mia, and Bibi stopped me.

“Did you forget about the chaos you caused last time with enormous water bubbles?!”
“Do you have any idea what will happen if you suddenly unleash a pillar of flame?! We can’t let you risk it with only us kids around here.”
“Let’s wait until a priest is here so that you can do it under proper supervision!”

They all started lecturing me, insisting I reflect on what I had done before.

(Whaaat?! I don’t believe I did anything bad! Let go of me!!!)

◆◆◆◆◆

After today’s lesson ended, we all gathered together again, much like we had the day before. As we were chatting, I noticed a familiar presence approaching me quietly, just as it had been yesterday.

(He really is amazing. No one else seems to have noticed him. Sadly for him, I have him all figured out!)

The moment Stephan slid into what he thought was the perfect position and reached out to touch the hem of my skirt, I was ready. I placed my index finger on his forehead and, at the same time, infused a small amount of Chi into it.

It felt like wrapping my finger softly in cotton—gentle, yet precise.

(Alright! This should do it!)

Very lightly, I pressed my finger against his forehead. Stephan made a sound as though he’d hit an invisible wall. His head tilted back, and then, with absolutely no grace, he toppled back, plunging headfirst into the nearby thicket.

“Huh? What was that sound?!”
“What? Legs are coming out of the thicket. Stephan?!”
“What? You again! You rascal!”
“It seems he failed this time!”
“Fufu! Did… well… this… time!”

I declared proudly, putting my hands on my hips.

“I knew you could do it if you tried!”
“Nothing less from you, Su!”

Everyone praised me, which made me want to squirm with embarrassment.

(Hyaaa!)

“So? Why are you all gathered here?”

Alicia asked, looking at the group of boys who had gathered behind me.

“Here… this morning… too… When… skirt… flipped.”
“ “ “ “ “ “WHAT?!” ” ” ” ” ”
“All… were… there! All… except… Carl… and… young… boys…”

This morning, Carl Giacobini had been the only boy who didn’t come behind me but instead sighed and shook his head at the others. I actually viewed him in high regard due to this.

“You all… Don’t tell me you…”
“What? No way! Even Willie?!”
“Hmph. I’m not surprised Irvine was there!”
“Alan, you too? Seriously?!”
“ “ “ “Ahhh!” ” ” ”

At that moment, the boys scattered like flies, running off in every direction.

“Wait right there!”

Dana, Cara, and the others shouted, chasing after the fleeing boys.

Amid the chaos, only Willie was caught by Mia and Corin and was currently sitting through their scolding. Despite his studious appearance, with his glasses and sharp demeanor, Willie was quite obtuse. Nonetheless, it was clear that he didn’t like it.

Meanwhile, Stephan slowly poked his head out of the bushes, looking around in confusion. His wide-eyed expression only made the whole scene even funnier.

It was a truly peaceful and amusing scene. I couldn’t help but laugh with delight.

(I really love this village!)
