The following morning, Susie woke up feeling healthy, and her voice didn’t feel hoarse.

She had been worried that her voice might have been strained because she had shouted extensively in the middle of the night. However, she couldn’t disclose the reason for her actions, as it was something prohibited. But she knew the reason quite well. Susie felt a wave of embarrassment as the memories resurfaced.

“Okay! Today… be different! Right?”

Susie said, beginning to lose confidence. She felt very restless.

Determined to shake off the feeling, she abruptly stood up. She slapped her cheeks, opened the window, and took a deep breath of the crisp morning air, thinking that today was indeed a great day.

Almost instantly, her restless thoughts faded, and her sense of calm returned. Susie was quick to change her mindset and bounce back.

That same morning, Mia visited the Cloud residence to pick Susie up.

“Morning, Su. I’ve come to pick you up.”
“Morning… Mia.”

Susie answered. Mia seemed to have taken advantage of her proximity to the school’s road to make sure she would reach Susie sooner than the two upperclassmen who would often hog her presence.

As they walked down the hillside in front of the Cloud residence, Mia remarked, “Su, your house’s roof is really cute. I like how rugged it is. I’ve wanted to see it up close for some time now.”

It seemed like Mia had been interested in the roof of the Cloud residence for quite some time now.

(I finally remember. This was called a gambrel roof. It resembles a shogi piece, so it’s also known as the shogi gable roof!)

“It really is a pretty green gabled roof.”

Mia continued. Susie then suddenly realized something. “Gabled… roof? Green gabled roof?” she stammered, turning to look back at the mansion with a sense of dread.

From the bottom of the hillside, only the roof stood out prominently.

Its green hue and distinct gable shape. The words Green Gables came to mind. Susie then grabbed her hair and looked at it. It was red. Without warning, Susie dropped to the ground hands first.

“Su, what’s wrong?! Are you hurt?” Mia exclaimed, rushing to her side in concern.
“Ah… How… How… could.. this… be!!!”
“Su? Are you alright?!”

Mia gently asked, her voice filled with worry as she held the trembling Susie.

“I’m… I’m… Aaaah!!!”

Susie suddenly burst into uncontrollable sobs. Mia was left utterly confused.

“Su! Are you alright?! Are you feeling unwell? Shall I take you back home?!”

(How could I not notice? I’m! I’m!!! I’m so sorry! Montgomery fans all over the world, I’m sorry! To think that a person like me would get to be in this position!!! Please forgive me! I’m so sorry! Green Gables! Red hair! I apologize! I didn’t intend for this to happen!!! Someone like me should just be taken through the gable window and into another dimension!!! Waaaaahhhh!!!

Tears streamed down Susie’s face like a waterfall as she shook her head in despair.

“S-Su?! I don’t understand you! Hey! Calm down! Let’s just calm down, okay?”

Mia urged, pressing Susie gently against her ample chest in an attempt to soothe her.

“Soft!”

Susie mumbled, resisting for a moment before suddenly quieting down. “Ah! What a pleasant sensation…” Susie murmured as she reached out with both hands, grabbing and pressing the soft, comforting sensation against her face.

“Ah! S-Su! That tickles! Huh? Hey!”

Susie’s hands didn’t seem like they had any intention of stopping as she constantly moved up and down, back and forth, fully savoring the supreme sensation with both her hands and face.

“S-Su, isn’t this enough? Don’t you think this is enough? What do you think?”
“Nnnhh… Just… bit… more… like… this.”
“Good grief. If you insist…” Mia let out a sigh of surrender.

Eventually, Susie had completely recovered. She was quick to bounce back.

Soon, after Susie had calmed down, she took Mia’s hand in hers, and they headed towards school. Mia had suggested holding hands to keep Susie steady and to ensure she wouldn’t have another emotional outburst.

“I was quite surprised you know, suddenly seeing you burst out crying like that. Are you really okay?”
“Yes… Sorry… Remembered… sad… real story… from the past… Couldn’t… hold… in… Now… good.”
“I see. Well, tell me whenever you feel sad, okay? If you’re fine with me, I’ll be there to hold you, okay?”
“Okay… Thanks… Mia… Love.”

Susie said, smiling at Mia. Seeing this, Mia’s chest felt like it would burst out of her chest.

(Ah! Y-You’re so cute, Su! You’re way too cute!! Would it be wrong if I just took you now and brought you home? Would it? Would it really?!)

A series of dangerous thoughts passed through Mia’s mind, but Susie had no way of knowing that.

Before the two of them arrived at the school, they met Beatrice.

“Morning, you two! Huh? You came together?”
“Morning, Bibi. That’s right. I went to pick her up.”
“Morning… Bibi… Bibi… want… come… tomorrow?”

Susie tilted her head as she asked Beatrice.

“I do! If we meet up at the avenue’s entrance, then you won’t even have to take a detour!”

After thinking for a bit, Susie answered Beatrice.

“Then… three of us… together! Hehe.”
“You seem awfully happy about it!”

Tempted by Susie’s content expression, Beatrice couldn’t hold back poking at her cheek. As she did, Susie ran away laughing, “No!”

Seeing this, Mia puffed her cheeks, “So this means I’ll have less time to myself.”

“Morning, Su!” Suddenly, two girls, younger than Susie, appeared at the school’s gate.
“Morning, Leila… Mabel.”

Susie said, going up to the two of them to greet them while rubbing her cheeks against theirs.

As the group entered the classroom, Corin was already there reading a book. As Susie exchanged greetings with Corin, she suddenly felt another familiar presence coming up from behind. A presence she’d gotten familiar with yesterday.

(It seems he’s really taken a liking to me. Boys usually only lift the skirts of girls they like… Considering his feelings, I don’t want to treat him too badly…)

As Susie pondered that, Stephan came up from behind her and lifted her skirt as hard as he could. For the record, Susie was wearing light blue striped panties today.

“Hiya!”

(Ah! Having my a̲s̲s̲ exposed like that does feel a bit embarrassing. H-Huh? Wait… Could this be his greeting? Like a good morning kind of thing? A skirt lift instead of a good morning? Come to think of it, he also lifted my skirt yesterday for goodbye. I got it! This is just the mindset that a pure-hearted prankster would have. What will I do with him? Maybe I’ll scold him a bit. Still, I should be careful not to be too mean. I guess a forehead flick will do.)

Right after finishing her thought and just before Stephan could shift into an escape position, Susie snapped her thumb-suppressed middle finger forward, aiming directly at his forehead. She flicked her finger lightly—very lightly by her standards. Truly lightly.

Immediately after, a loud sound rang out as Stephan’s body was hurled backward with tremendous force, crashing into the far side of the classroom.

Desks were sent flying and tumbling, while the wall where Stephan collided creaked and let out a high-pitched screech. The entire class froze, wide-eyed and paralyzed with shock.

At the doorway, Dana, who was just stepping into the classroom, stopped in her tracks as she saw Stephan’s body flying past her. Her eyes widened in disbelief, and she stood rooted to the spot.

“A-Ah! S-Stephan! Okay?! Are… you okay?! Hey! You… okay?! HEY!”

Susie stammered, rushing to Stephan in a panic. She was half-crying. Crying out loud, Susie finally reached Stephan and scooped him into her arms.

“Are… you… okay?! You… alright?!”

Susie stammered, her voice trembling as tears welled up in her eyes. Gently she placed her hand on Stephan’s forehead.

“H-Huh? What? What happened? Someone?”

Dana, snapping out of her shock, hurried over to assess the situation.

“Dana… do you… think… Stephan… okay?”

Susie asked, her eyes pleading for reassurance.

“Let me see. What happened?”

Dana asked again, going up next to Susie and kneeling to check on Stephan.

Suddenly, Stephan’s eyes flew open, and he bolted upright.

“Whoa!” gasped the other students, who instinctively stepped back. Stephan looked around in confusion, muttering, “Huh? What happened?”

His bewildered gaze eventually landed on Susie’s tear-streaked face. His cheeks flushed a deep red as he quickly clamped his hands over his forehead and dashed out of the classroom.

Susie, who was left behind on the floor, muttered, “T-Thank god… Thank god… He… okay!”

“Su, are you alright?”
“Good… Alright…”

Susie mumbled, her voice muffled as she clung tightly to Mia, burying her face in her chest. It seemed Mia’s chest had become a comforting haven for Susie.

“There, there,” Mia said as she stroked Susie’s head tenderly.
“Wonder… my nail… hurt him?”
“Su! I don’t think that’s the issue here!”
“Hmm… But… too… sorry… to hit… with fist.”
“Su, I don’t think that’s it as well.”

“Besides, Su, why did you let him lift your skirt? I’m sure you could’ve dodged it.” Dana asked.
“I knew it! Su, you just like showing your butt, don’t you! You’re an exhibitionist!”
“N-No! I’m not! Butt… no!”
“Okay, okay! I got it, so calm down!”
“I’m… not!”

“Still, Su. I think it’s a bit too late to do anything after you’ve had your skirt lifted.”
“But… if not done anything… no point… scolding.”
“You’re right about that. What you said right now is correct, Su. But think of it this way. Right now it was fine because it was just a skirt flip. Well, it wasn’t completely alright, but what if it was something that could lead to someone getting hurt? Would you wait to do something until someone got hurt? Don’t you think it’s also important to stop such things beforehand?”
“I see!”

“You can do that, can’t you, Su?”
“I… got… it! Next time… prevent! Do good! But… Corin… you’re very… proper… Amazing!”
“I’m not! You’re just too careless!”
“Heard that… yesterday… too.”

As Susie said that, the remaining four girls nodded in unison2.
