The textbooks were divided into nine levels, with each child studying at their level.

Children, ranging from seven-year-olds in the 1st level, where they learned to count, read, and write, to fifteen-year-olds in the 9th level, the highest level taught at the school, all studied in the same classroom.

1st Level, 2 boys and 2 girls.
2nd Level, 3 boys and 1 girl.
3rd Level, 2 boys and 2 girls.
4th Level, 1 boy and 2 girls.
5th Level, 2 boys and 1 girl.
6th Level, 3 boys and 2 girls.
7th Level, 2 boys and 2 girls.
8th Level, 1 boy and 2 girls.
9th Level, 2 boys and 3 girls.

In total, there were 18 boys and 17 girls, making up 35 students in the entire school.

“And now with you, there are 18 girls, making the total 36 students!” Beatrice explained.

Each child studied at their desk, which was arranged by level.

The curriculum was designed around self-initiative, where students learned independently. Teachers provided direct instruction, but if students encountered difficulties, they sought help from nearby senior students.

(I’ve heard about this system in the news. I think it was known as a free school in Japan.)

Susie thought to herself. For now, Susie needed to start by learning to read, so she was placed near the seven-year-olds in the first level.

Mrs. Jameson gave her instructions on how to write letters, and she began copying from the textbook. However, within minutes, she noticed the stares of the children around her.

The girl sitting in front of her glanced at Susie’s hair, her hand idle on the desk. The child sitting next to the girl acted in the same manner. It seemed that these children were too preoccupied with Susie to focus on studying.

“Interested?”

Susie asked, looking at the curious girl. The moment she was asked the question, the girl exclaimed and lowered her head.

“Want… touch?”

Susie asked again, and the girl hesitated for a moment before speaking.

“Can I?” She looked up at Susie with wide eyes. Susie turned her head slightly, letting the ends of her hair face the girl. She deliberately created a little distance, giving the girl room to approach.

Cautiously, the girl leaned closer, attempting to touch Susie’s hair. As her face neared, Susie shook her head playfully, letting the tips of her hair tickle the girl’s nose.

“Hya!” the girl squealed, her voice bursting with surprise. Susie and the girl broke into laughter, giggling at the silly interaction.

“Me too! Me too!” another girl called out, eager to join. Susie leaned toward her, letting her hair brush against the child’s face. The girl squirmed and laughed, her shoulders shrugging as she exclaimed, “Hiyaaa!”

Two boys watched enviously from nearby, so Susie repeated the gesture with them, tickling their faces in the same playful way.

From that moment on, the children grew fond of Susie. The two girls sat closely on either side of her, their admiration evident.

“It’s my first time seeing such stunning red hair!” one of the girls said, running her fingers through Susie’s hair.
“How… write… red?” Susie asked curiously.

The children then eagerly taught her the word, helping her with the letters. Afterward, Susie continued to learn from the children. They helped her with reading and writing, guiding Susie through letters they could recognize. At the same time, Susie had the children read numerology problems aloud to her and then helped them by teaching them how to solve the problems.

(I guess it’s no different now. I’ve always been good with children and animals ever since before. It seems like even changing my body and the world doesn’t change that. I wonder if Mrs. Jameson expected that something like this would happen?)

Susie couldn’t help but think that after noticing Mrs. Jameson sitting across the classroom and smiling while looking at her.

(She is the perfect office lady model.) Susie thought.

“She seems good with kids!”
“Well, Susie does seem kind.”
“It’s great that we have someone to look after the younger ones.”
“So she’s not only strong and beautiful. Haha, now that’s one high hurdle. Huh? When did that b̲a̲s̲t̲a̲r̲d̲ get there?”

From behind her, Susie felt someone staring at her. She could tell that this person had the intention of grabbing both her pigtails. In the next moment, that person reached forward, but their hands grabbed only air.

Realizing that they’d grabbed air, the person grew angry and tried again. And then again. The person tried three times in a row, only to miss each one. Susie dodged all of their advances by either twisting or ducking before she could be caught. It wasn’t long before the children around her noticed the interaction, and their eyes widened in surprise.

“W-Why?!” Stephan stuttered, trying to catch his breath.
“What?” Susie asked, tilting her head to the side.
“Why?! Why is your hair so red?!!!” Stephan yelled at Susie, his cheeks bright red.

Susie then placed her hands on Stephan’s cheeks and brought her face closer to his.

“Gulp…”

Stephan moaned, his face growing red. Susie spoke softly as their faces were close enough that they could feel each other’s breath.

“I wonder…”

Susie said, tilting her head, a playful smile spreading across her face as she looked at Stephan.

At that very same moment, Stephan grew bright red, looking like he was about to explode. He then screamed, pushing away Susie’s hands, and running out of the classroom.

Seeing that, Susie scratched the back of her head and smiled wryly.

“H-Hey, did you see that?!”
“Amazing! Susie took care of Stephan like it was nothing!”
“Oh my… He’s fallen for her after that one.”
“She is great with kids! Or should I say great with boys?”

“That’s not what I’m talking about! I’m talking about the way she moved! What in the world was that?”
“What? The way she moved? But she didn’t even move that much.”
“That’s it! She swayed, dodging everything!”
“You’re right! It was awesome! Normally you wouldn’t be able to dodge all of those advances! And she did it while seated and not moving her lower body! She’s master level for sure!”

“Warriors are special. They see things in a different way than us.”
“It felt like she had eyes on her back.”
“There’s no way she did! You can’t see behind you! Just try it, and you’ll know! Just look at Irvine. His eyes are glued into place! God, I’m even getting goosebumps!”
“I think Irvine has his eyes glued for an entirely different reason!”
“He’s probably jealous…”
