“Geez, these guys are lost causes,” Mika whispered to me, leaving Margo, who hung her head like her twin brother, to her own devices.
Still, just a short time ago, I was also such a lost cause who never managed to confess. Oh, well.
“Hey, there are people without a better half.”
“Exactly.”
They better made sure Bacchus didn’t hear what they just said. That wouldn’t end well.
“…Whatever. We’ll go look around. See ya!” Lahand shouted.
“I’ll also go say hi to Lastman… or rather, Uruto,” Gabaina added.
The four of them disappeared into the direction of the waiting room.
I got the feeling that people would now gather rapidly… and I was proven correct when members from Gilmars’ group arrived one after the other. All the top members of the Peace of Hercules had apparently been invited. Though the only one among them I was close to was Gilmars himself.
“It’s gradually starting to get lively.”
“So many people. As expected, since it’s about those two.”
Well, that’s the reason I made so much food. Not that I’m worried about that part.
It’s getting noisier and noisier! Though I’m happy to hear them praise my decorations.
“I wonder who’s arriving now.”
As Mika and I were shaking hands with someone who told us they were part of our fan club, a loud noise came from the church entrance.
That moment, it felt as if the air froze. All commotion came to a halt. On the other side of the door, I could see a group of dozens of people. And at the head of the procession stood the king. It seemed everyone had fallen silent when they saw him arrive.
“They’re here, a bit early,” Archbishop Chris muttered, before hastily making his way to the group.
Incidentally, this church had a seating section for those with political influence. Guided by the clergyman, the king’s group took their seats in the part for royals and nobles.
“Alim, Mika!” someone called our names.
Obviously, it was Karua. Mika and I went to her seat.
It looked as if to one side of her, the queen was seated, while on the other was Tuhl. The king sat next to the latter. Ruin and his friends stuck together as usual and sat next to each other. It was the same for the minister and knight commander. Furthermore, close to the minister sat the hero Herrell and the former princess Elle1. The remainder were nobles I was only acquainted with in passing.
“Alim, these decorations are wonderful! I never expected any less of you!”
“Truly. we never saw anything like it during our time as adventurers.”
“They are rather marvelous.”
Karua, the king, and the queen praised my work.
Tee-hee. To get rave reviews even from those used to luxury. All that hard work paid off!
“You really are amazing, Alim. We’ll never measure up to you.”
“Hey, it’s only thanks to her that we got this strong.”
Ruin and Lilo also gave their comments. Orgo and Myuri had similar impressions,
“In that case, I’ll organize your weddings, too!”
“”””!?””””
The four of them gaped in shock. It was the fate of those in relationships to be teased about it by their close friends.
“We… we aren’t thinking about getting married, yet.”
“R-Right? We’re still young.”
“A-As they say, Alim.”
“Oh, but I cannot help longing for it.”
I get it, those four took forever to even confess to each other. So, they probably won’t get married any time soon. Mika and I might beat them to it. I can’t imagine them kissing… much less doing the deed. All I can do is encourage them.
“Heh-heh-heh, it reminds me of back then.”
“What do you mean?”
“The day of our wedding.”
The queen, on the other hand, seemed to be reminiscing about the past.
“Ours should be soon, too…”
“Indeed… I’m dreaming of it, even now.”
Herrell and Elle also seemed to be discussing something. Weddings did have a big effect on people. These two might rely on me for theirs, too.
While chatting with the king’s group for some time, lots of other guests arrived. As we were released when our talk reached a good stopping point, Mika and I spied our housemates. All four were wearing the dresses and tuxedos I custom made for them.
Hrm, they suit them well, if I may say so. I guess I’ll ask them what they think of it later.
With everything going on, the time for the guests to arrive passed before I knew it, and all that remained was to hold the ceremony. All that talking made the time pass quickly.
“Alright, Mika, I’ll go make the final check on the bride and groom.”
“Oh, okay!”
After giving Mika a head’s up, I made my way to stars of the show in the waiting room.

- The original is ノア (noa). I can only assume the author either forgot her name or mixed it up with another character. It’s obvious this is meant to be Elle.
